Digital Art Technology
Technology is constantly growing and changing our ways of living. It makes life easier at times, and more interesting too. When one would think of art in the past, usually computers and technology did not come to mind. Now because of modern technology, the digital age is uncovering vast ways to create amazing works of art through computer tools and software. Art is now digitally created and can appear unbelievable to the modern eye.
Digital art technology is in some ways, a form of art that can be constructed on a computer based template and still portray an artistÕs rendition but in a mechanical manner. ÒAs early as 1912, the futurists planned moving sculptures driven by machine, in which the machine was incorporated into the body of the artwork itself. Both movements advocated the artist as a user of technology and recognized the machine as art, ideas that would slowly make their way into the artistic mainstream in time for the arrival of electronic digital technology.Ó (55, Wolf) This was the beginning of years and years of transitioning into art technology. It was a slow transition because equipment malfunctioned during art exhibitions at times and the technology needed to be more sufficiently developed still.
Inventions starting over 40 years ago began Digital Art technology. In 1963, a program for interactive computer graphics, called Sketchpad, was created by Ivan E. Sutherland. It facilitated the collaboration of drawing and computing. ÒBy the mid-1970s and throughout the 1980s, computer graphics improved tremendously, and a new kind of imaging was possible: visualizations of complex mathematical functions, three-dimensional graphics, and fractal imagery no artis...

...g digital museums already exists, because it would allow more people to discover works of art that are much in demand, without having to queue and be surrounded by people. The progresses in digital imagery are going to get even more faultless, but one should remember that it remains a copy, and that nothing is worth being transported by the emotion and the magic of contemplating the work of art itself.

What is art? Art is the self-expression of someone of something that shows the hidden or underlying emotions that are found within the unconscious mind. Art has been around for centuries (“Merriam-Webster”). Normally, art would tell stories of past events which were significant to that culture. This could include things such as hunts and sacrifices to please the gods. As people and humanity started to evolve and become more civilized, art started to transform and take on a new appearance as well. From being a story prop to something that is more abstract; art started to become more and more important in the lives of people. During the renaissance in Europe, many new artists and ways of thinking emerged and became the main-stream way of thinking. Many of those artist are household names such as Vincent Van Gogh and Leonardo da Vinci . They transformed art from what it was to how we see it today (Belliveau). Jumping forward from the renaissance to the 1960’s, you have artists emerge such as Andy Warhol and Jackson Pollok. They pushed the boundaries of art and how it was perceived in society (American Art Therapy Association).

Walt Whitman’s writing is often argued about how he exhibits very little style, due to his free form sense of poetry. Though the structure he writes with is unconventional to say the least, he definitely has a sense of style and form that he writes with, and his style isn’t nearly as messy and thoughtless as most pundits would suggest. Whitman’s writing does not have an arrangement that can be easily confined, and give credit that he does not conform to the usual realm of literary style (much like Dickinson). Even though Whitman’s poetry doesn’t follow the conventional poetic protocol, the way other poets like Bradstreet and Longfellow do, it definitely has a certain structure and general themes that he tries incorporating , in spite of it’s sometimes hectic looking technique.
The start of one of the most influential poet of the 18th century began when Walt Whitman was born in 1819 (Gundersen). He started his wonderful career as a poet when he was in his young years soaking in all the wisdom and picking up writing tips from other famous poets. Then, he took all the knowledge he had and played that through the later part of his life as a poet. Lastly, he continued to grab the attention from other poets and fans of his writing after he had already passed away. Walt Whitman was influenced in his younger years and older years of life as a poet and writer; he then went on to create his own works and unique styles of poetry, which inspired other young poets and authors to branch out and make their career just as successful
From Mark Twain to Vincent van Gogh, each genre of art comes with its greatest master. There are many compelling arguments to why this specific artist, musician or writer is the best in their category. In modern days, we don’t have a Mozart, or a Hemingway or even an Andy Warhol. There are many good artists of their own kind and many more are emerging thanks to new technology and new forms of media art. However, many arguments are made as to why these forms of art aren’t considered true forms of art. A few years back and even today, many argue that digital paintings aren’t real art so it is not surprising when people don’t think of a video game as an art form, but it is. The world is at constant change and so is art.
Walt Whitman was a poet born on May 31, 1819 in West Hills, Long Island, New York. His first published work came in 1855; called Leaves of Grass, it is now a landmark in American literature. The second oldest of eight surviving children, Walt grew up in a democratic family, with his parents showing their love for America by naming his younger brothers after great American heroes. Walt and his family moved from Long Island to Brooklyn when he was just three years old. When he was eleven years old, Walt’s father took him out of school to help support his family, and he got into the business of printing. At age seventeen, he started teaching at a one-room schoolhouse in Long Island. After five years, Whitman turned to journalism, starting a paper called the Long-Islander, and later continuing his newspaper career in New York City. He became the editor of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle in 1846, and “proved to be a volatile editor, with a sharp pen and a set of opinions that didn’t always align with his bosses or his readers. He backed what some considered radical positions on women’s propert...
Throughout the ages art has played a crucial role in life. Art is universal and because art is everywhere, we experience it on a daily basis. From the houses we live in (architecture) to the movies we see (theatre) to the books that we read (literature). Even in ancient culture art has played a crucial role. In prehistoric times cave dwellers drew on the wall of caves to record history. In biblical times paintings recorded the life and death of Christ. Throughout time art has recorded history. Most art is created for a specific reason or purpose, it has a way of expressing ideas and beliefs, and it can record the experiences of all people.
