Different and Similar friends
Some people prefer to have friends who are different from them and some prefer to have friends who are similar to them. Which do you prefer?
According to chemistry-students, second year, RUPP, many like to have friends for their studying. Some students prefer to make friends who are similar to them and some think that the friends who they like are different from them. There are many reasons that cause those people want to choose persons who they want to be friend.
On the one hand, making friends is to think about the age sometimes. People can use the formal languages to communicate to each other without worry about obeying to each other. They easily call their name directly when they meet each other inside and outside the class. For example, Meng Thia and Monorom are friends and they like talking to each other very closely and tightly when they are in class even at along the road to RUPP. To be of the same age is a vital point for people who like making friends who are similar.
Another thing to consider for discussion if people prefer friends who are similar, they think about the characteristic of those people. First, they can get along with each other for long times when the have similar attitude or feature. Second, they are normally satisfied with their behavior. For instance, Saveoun admires her friend, Chann Rith, because of Chann Rith’s attitude she show s in class. Characteristic help keeping friendship for many people, and offer many advantages.
On the other hand, many students feel that it is a better way to associate with friends who are different to them. People’s knowledge is not equal, so it is shared to each other. Sometimes students share their experiences or help solving the problem when someone does not understand well about it. In addiction, we can learn knowledge or technique from friends to deal the problem with many ways. In face, Rithy and Soriya have different methods to explain the definition of chemical elements; Rithy learns from Soriya and also Soriya from Rithy. Sharing knowledge makes people increase their intelligence and become good friends with people whose knowledge are exchanged.
One other reason is the strategy. First, some students work with their timetable very well, so others who think that they have different strategy want to create relationship as friends with those persons. Also, some students tell their strategy of managing times for their every day’s life to students who have weak abilities of management.
When human lives are endangered, when human dignity is in jeopardy, national borders and sensitivities become irrelevant.” (Moore) While living in brutal conditions, Wiesel did everything he could for himself and others. He prayed almost four times a day for the ending of the holocaust. Fighting through starvation, Wiesel was never selfish and continuously worked to help other Jews escape. While helping others, Wiesel was still a young man with hope to escape himself and tell his stories to the world.
Many people stay silent in times of dispute because they fear being judged, but in reality staying quiet and not choosing sides will never solve the situation. Elie Wiesel was a devoted Jew who was forced to suffer the horrors of the Holocaust at the young age of 15. After being shipped in cattle cars to many concentration camps, including Auschwitz, Elie began fighting for justice and equality for all people despite income, race, religion, or political views. In his Nobel Prize acceptance speech, Elie Wiesel stresses his claim that silence and neutrality will always benefit the oppressor through the use of logos, ethos, and pathos.
When reading the literature of Langston Hughes, I cant help but feeling energetically charged and inspired. Equality, freedom, empowerment, renaissance, justice and perseverance, are just a taste of the subject matter Hughes offers. He amplifies his voice and beliefs through his works which are firmly rooted in race pride and race feeling. Hughes committed himself both to writing and to writing mainly about African Americans. His early love for the “wonderful world of books” was sparked by loneliness and parental neglect. He would soon lose himself in the works of Walt Whitman, Paul Laurence, Carl Sandburg and other literary greats which would lead to enhancing his ever so growing style and grace of oeuvre. Such talent, character, and willpower could only come from one’s life experiences. Hughes had allot to owe to influences such as his grandmother and great uncle John Mercer Langston - a famous African American abolitionist. These influential individuals helped mold Hughes, and their affect shines brightly through his literary works of art.
Elie Wiesel survived the Holocaust and he does not want anyone to repeat it. Understanding what the Jews had to go through, makes us not want to repeat the Holocaust. In his speech, Elie Wiesel said that Jews had to starve during the Holocaust. He was also talking about Political Persecution toward Jews, which means Jews had to be sent to concentration camps and were prohibited to get jobs. Elie Wiesel also mentioned the severe racism toward Jews. We should honor the innocent people that died during the Holocaust because of what they had to go through.
Wiesel saw so many bodies being burned in furnaces and he also saw people getting shot and thrown in pits that were dug by them. There was too many deaths caused. Only so little people survived from this tragic event. About 100,000 survived from the 11 million dead. Many Holocaust survivors today are still living and most of them are deceased. There was to many deaths during The Holocaust, this is why we should not let this happen again.
Friends have the biggest impact and influence in our lives. They can lead us to the path of success or path of failure. So everything that our parents have told us about choosing the right friends is absolutely true. As you get older, you realize that everything your parents have said or have taught you starts to make sense. You are more aware about situations and are a lot more careful so that you don't make mistakes like we often did when we were younger.
Rather than attempting to ‘make friends’ with the white man in hopes of gaining sympathy, the struggles of overcoming slavery and battling blatant oppression are not allowed to go unnoticed within Hughes’ poetry, as is illustrated in “Mother to Son.” In this poem, Hughes employs a metaphor to depict a mother as she explains to her son that he...

Likability then, plays a part in all communication. If an individual dislikes someone, they won’t give much thought to what the individual has to say, instead dismissing them with a wave. The second category of friends I call "social partners." This is because they are closer than acquaintances, but no where near as close as a true friend.
