Nathanael Luu has had many different experiences throughout his life. There are many fun ones and boring ones. Many happy experiences and many sad, but one stood out to him as the most frightening of all. Disneyland is a place where many kids know as one of the best places in the whole world, a place where some of the most exciting adventures happen to a kid. To Nathanael, it was where his scariest moment happened. Nathanael was 11 when he went to his first roller coaster, California Screamin’ in Disneyland. Nathanael did not want to go one it because he was afraid of heights, and California Screamin’ is one of the tallest rides in Disneyland. There were many different rides in Disneyland that he enjoyed but this was easily the biggest one
It was the summer of 2012 and my family was taking another trip to Six Flags Great America. Earlier that summer we went just for me to be disappointed. At the time I wasn’t 54 inches yet and couldn’t ride any of the rides that I wanted to because they were the most popular at the amusement park. But, I hit a growth spurt between trips and we planned to ride all of the big rollercoasters. The one that I was most terrified of at the time was Raging Bull, one of the tallest, fastest, and longest steel coasters in the US. As we started to wait in line for the ride I was shaking with both anticipation and fear and began to rethink my idea to ride the rollercoaster. I decided to stay in line and see what many people thought was a great coaster.
Disneyland is known to be the happiest place on earth. Walt Disney is the founder of this amusement park. Walt had ...
Disneyland marked the onset of theme parks in the nation, which was carved out of a fantasy tale and it has been the leader for 60 years. And, there was virtually no competition to the attraction quotient that attracted people and tourists to visit the theme park.
Disneyland is a popular theme park and an iconic representation of Disney as a company. Millions of people from around the globe, from every age group visit the park every year. The park is envisioned as a glimmering land of nostalgia and childlike imagination that is fun for the whole family. However, this land that we call “The Happiest Place On Earth” in an ironic twist has become a human trap set by a mouse, an inadvertent ploy to inflict naivety and promote fallacy. With the framework of a utopian getaway, the decontextualization presented by the design of the park disciplines park goers into a mindset of false reality.
There is an immense amount of rides in Walt Disney World. Some of the most famous rides are The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, and the Rock 'n' Rollercoaster starring Aerosmith. Also known as The Tower of Terror, this incredibly detailed attraction takes people very high up so they can see out the window for just a second, until it drops them to what seems like their doom. This is done repeatedly, until the ride comes to stop. Another thrilling ride is Space Mountain. On this mostly pitch black journey, riders are pulled into action in ups and downs. Another exhilarating
Everything in the parks is done for family, joy, and, of course, magic (Elias 1). Milt Thurman is a Disney fan that has said that Disney “is a nice, safe place to be” and that “it’s not today; it’s not tomorrow, its forever. It’s just a great place (Stein 6).” Whenever somebody walks into the parks, there is always a feeling that is great. The feeling of love, compassion, hope, and belief in the future are the feelings that people get when walking into the parks each time. This feeling comes from the cast members and the park as a whole. As people walk into the parks, the first thing seen is the bright colors, smiling faces of everyone, and also the characters. The whole idea of having fun, being excited, having hope and falling in love is what everyone wants (Stein 3). People instantly fell in love with Disneyland because it took them into a world of fantasy for a chance to relax and become part of the stories associated with their childhood memories of watching the Disney movies (Stein 1). At the same time, the art of family-friendly storytelling remains the core (Stein 2). When Walt was creating and designing Disney, he had many goals he wanted to meet. All he wanted was the greatest creative effort, not the most efficient operation. He also believed that giving people the right motivation was the best and only way to accomplish his dream. Disney had an obsession with the park, and always looked at it
The sound of music, filling the air with happiness, resonates throughout the area. The scent of delicious buttery popcorn and glazed turkey legs that go on for miles and miles. The feeling of excitement coming into the place is felt in the atmosphere. It is the image of a once in a lifetime moment. When people come in, their imaginations become reality. The name describes itself perfectly. Walt Disney World is the place of dreams and imagination. People come from all around the world to see the rides, characters, food and the entertainment of Walt Disney World. I remember when I went to Disney World this past March. It was the third time I have gone to Disney World. To see the amazement and the expectation of the
As one can see, Disney World is the place to be. Most people think that Walt Disney World is a place for children but there are attractions and things for people of all ages to do. I have been to Disney World many times and have loved every second of it. If you ever need a good place to bring children or visit with friends to make lifelong memories, just remember it all started with a mouse.
So, have you ever been to Disney World? Most of you probably have been there. I didn’t go to Disney World until November of last year with my family. I wasn’t sure what it would be like, but it was incredible. It was a lot of fun, and it was a great experience because I was with my family.
One of the main ideas Disney dreamed of was to have an amusement park of his own. “The building of Disneyland in 1955 was a dream come true for Disney… he was able to create a fantasy world for both adults and children”(The State Historical 6). All Disney wanted was to give everyone who watched his cartoons a chance to meet the characters in real life, so their dreams could come true too. To Walt Disney, Disneyland was a place where his characters could come to life and little kids could meet their favorite characters and just have fun. Disney designed Disneyland with inspiration from Marceline, Missouri. “Disney based his ‘Main Street, USA,’ upon the streets of small town America, particularly the buildings in downtown Marceline, Missouri”( The State Historical 6). Marceline was his favorite place, it is where he grew up and began to draw. Basing his theme park off of his home town made it have more of a small town feel to it, unlike the normal theme parks big city feel to it. Disneyland was like a second home to Disney since it was all based off of his favorite place in the world, Marceline, Missouri. Disneyland started out small but soon after the big opening it became a worldwide tourist location. Disneyland was such a big success he wanted to make another on the other side of the country, but he ended up dying before he could finish it; So, his brother finished it for him and named it Walt Disney
“To all who come to this happy place; welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past...and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America...with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world”, said Walter Elias Disney as he gave his opening speech at Disneyland, Anaheim in 1955. Disneyland was a place that was welcomed to everyone. Disneyland became an inspiration to the American people by peaking curiosity and adventure to children. This family- friendly amusement park gave those who entered it, the opportunity to expand their minds from technology, to history, adventures and
We all drove up the the park entrance and into the parking lot. After seeing the coasters from the ground, they looked fine but then I realized that they would seem way higher than they were. Then the doubt of going on the roller coasters started rolling in. I always wasn’t able to go on the big rides whenever I came here because I was always scared of them because of the heights.
Some of the theme areas include Tommorrowland, New Orleans Square, Fantasyland, and Mickey’s Toontown. Each area has its own set of rides, music, and food which gives Disneyland a unique atmosphere. Disneyland as a whole is designed to bring joy to those who attend and by playing the right kind of music, using bright and cheerful colors, and having classic Disney characters walking around, they easily achieve this goal. Even as an 18 year old college student, as soon as I set foot into Disneyland, it felt as if I was a little kid
Ever since I was about six years old, I wanted in the worst way to go to Disneyland. I would hope every year that my parents would chose Disneyland as our next family vacation destination. I dreamt of the day I would come back from Disneyland with exciting tales of adventure and a pair of sparkly, ruby red and black Minnie Mouse ears of my very own that would be the envy of every kid in my elementary class. Once I finally went to Disneyland, it was amazing; Disneyland was everything I had expected and more. However, a couple years later when I returned to Disneyland, it was different. The rides, buildings, and everything in the park did not have the same allure. The magic I had experienced as a child was no longer there.
When I heard my parents talking about going to Disney World I was so excited. It was a long trip down to Florida and I could not sit still, because I was so excited. We finally arrived that evening and decided to stay in a hotel near the theme park. When it was time for bed I could not go to sleep for a long time, because I was so excited about going at Disney world. When I saw the big mirror ball from the entrance, I was amazed. Disney world had a wide variety of rides. There were tons of rides that shocked me. Some of these rides made you feel like you were riding in a jet because of how fast they were. There was even a roller coaster ride in the huge mirror ball. It was a slow ride, but I still liked it because there was air conditioning inside the ball. We spent all day at the park until we had ridden everything. That night Disney World had a firework show. The fireworks seemed like they lasted forever with the amazing colors bursting in the air one right after another. When the firework show finally ended my parents told me that it was time to leave. I was...
