There are quite a few differences between The Lightning Thief book and the movie but there are three that I found to be extremely different and obvious. First, the most notable one is with the pearls. In the book Percy is given three pearls by Nereid. He is instructed to use them when in great need or danger. However, in the movie the pearls are hidden. The visitors who find a pearl are able to escape from the underworld and return to the sea. The second, is the death of Medusa. Percy cuts off her head in the book and it is then shipped to the Olympians, but in the movie her head travels with them upon their quest to return the lightning bolt to Mount Olympus. The third, is the character Ares, the god of war and the son of Zeus. He
gives Percy, Grover and Annabeth a quest to retrieve a shield that was left at a waterpark in Denver. It was a setup, no shield was at the waterpark. In the movie there was no such character or scene. Overall, the Lightning Thief movie was good but there were many modifications that were very obvious to the reader of The Lightning Thief book which made the movie a little disappointing. I found the book to be more exciting and enjoyable than the movie.
“The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak is narrated by death and begins when Liesel’s brother dies on a train with her and her mother. At her brother’s burial, she steals her first book, “The Grave Digger’s Handbook” and soon after is separated from her mother and sent to live with foster parents, Hans and Rosa Hubermann, in Molching, where the majority of the book takes place. At school, Liesel is teased because she can’t read so Hans teaches her to read when she wakes up from her frequent nightmares about her brother’s death. Hans is a painter and an accordion player and also plays the accordion for her after her nightmares. Liesel grows very close with Hans and also becomes close friends with her neighbor Rudy Steiner who constantly asks her to
There are few similarities between the book and the movie. Usually most movies are similar to
The movie and the story had some of the same characters but some weren't exactly the same. The movie introduced many different characters and changed some of the others. For example, the movie had the plant lady and had the mentor of Anderton as the founders of Precrime while in the book, Anderton was the only founder of Precrime. Also, Witwer wasn't blond he had black hair and Kapler wasn't named Kapler he was named Crow. In the story they had the red head Fleming who did not exist
Has your skin ever tasted the scorching coldness to the point of actually flavoring death, has your stomach ever craved for even a gram of anything that can keep you alive, has your deep-down core ever been so disturbed by profound fear? No never, because the deep-freeze, starvation, and horror that Kolya and Lev experienced were far worse to the point of trauma. In the novel, City Of Thieves, author David Benioff describes the devastating and surreal situations and emotions that occurred to Benioff’s grandfather, Lev and Lev’s friend, Kolya, during WWII the Siege of Leningrad in Leningrad, Russia. Both Lev and Kolya share some similarities such as their knowledge of literature; even so, they are very contrastive individuals who oppose
The first main difference was Asher and Fiona's Assignments. This was an important difference because when changing their Assignments, they were able to help Jonas in the movie. The second main difference was a similarity between all Receivers. In the book, they similarly used light eyes to define the Receiver of Memory, but in the movie, it was having a certain birthmark. The final difference was the Chief Elder's role. The Chief Elder was not mentioned a lot in the Giver book, but in the movie, she was one of the main characters. In conclusion, the Giver book and movie are very different from each
I have only included what I have to believe are largely important plot gaps and differences in the movie version in comparison to the book one, and so I apologize again if I have missed any other major ones. Forgive me, please.
My original thought when comparing Percy Jackson and the Olympians: the Lightning Thief the movie and Classical mythology was that there would be many more references to the myth of Perceus than any other myth throughout the movie in its entirety. That’s where I was wrong. After watching the movie again and researching the different hero myths my opinion has changed. My new thoughts are that the movie is not influenced by the myth of Perceus any more than other hero myths. The movie ties together many different heroes’ stories and mixes them together to make a wonderful story about a young boy. The movie was based on a book series written by Rick Riordan.
In conclusion, there are notable differences and similarities between the book, and movie Frankenstein. The differences start with the education of the monster, the plot, the ending of the story, and the characteristics of the monster. The similarities dealing with the creation of the monster, and the turning point of the story. The differences and similarities preserve the genre themes, and the main points in both the story and the movie.
In the book The Lightning Thief by Rodman Philbrick, Percy Jackson goes to Yancy Academy and is picked on. He gets kicked out of the school and ends up at Camp Halfblood, which is a camp for kids who aren’t normal, when he is there he learns a lot about his past. At Yancy Academy and Camp Halfblood Percy is picked on by two different girls Nancy Bobofit at Yancy and Clarisse at Halfblood. Clarisse is not like Nancy Bobofit because she is a demi-god and Nancy is human, she picks on Percy personally with Nancy on the other hand who picks on Grover to annoy Percy, and she is not afraid to get in a confrontation while Nancy doesn’t want to get in an actual confrontation.
Many books and movies are different but have mainly the same plot, but in the book, Percy Jackson The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan and the movie, Percy Jackson and Olympians The Lightning Thief, by Chris Columbus have a whole different way of telling the story. But then again it still has some similarities.

From the Greek Myth, “Danaϋs, Perseus and The Gorgon” and the film, Percy Jackson and Olympians The Lightning Thief, the movie modernises and draws onto the challenges, the perfect hero archetype, and the quest storyline in many ways. The film even added more challenges onto the myth! From formulating new characters, a new family line, and different storylines- the film of Percy has many modernizations! Now, the modernizations of the events in the myth will be discussed.

Hello friends, in class today, I read chapter two of the book "Percy Jackson And The Olympians: The Lightning Thief". In this chapter, Percy Jackson says that he is getting used to the weird hallucinations happening to him, but they always got over quickly. He thinks that for the rest of the school year, the entire campus was playing some kind of trick on him since they were totally convinced that Mrs. Kerr who was a perky blond woman was their pre-algebra teacher since Christmas, and he had never seen her until she got on their bus at the end of their previous field trip. Because of this, just to check, he would spring a Mrs. Dodds reference, but they would just stare at him as if he were a
There are many novels that are changed into movies. Sometimes the movie may be same as in the novels and sometime only the character may be same but there can be a small or huge difference in story than that of books to attract the audience as well as to make the movie interesting and realistic. Every scene and things cannot be portrayed in movies as like in novels because the viewers won’t be able to believe those changes and such changes makes the movie better than book. After watching the movie “Tangled” and reading the book Rapunzel, the movie has adequately portray the reality and complexity of love. The movie is about the affection demonstrating parental adoration, self-centeredness affection and how a thief change into a loyal person after falling in love.
