There aren’t many differences between America and India today. However, there are a few. Most of the differences are in the traditions. India mostly revolves around there traditions that have been going on for decades where as American traditions aren’t taken as seriously. India is slowly changing their customs to be more like ours here in America. For example, the majority of people in America celebrate Christmas and in India they are mostly Hindu, but are starting to celebrate Christmas with us because of their work schedule. Most Indians work for an American company (mostly customer service). Soon India won’t have many differences at all, maybe all countries are slowly converting their customs to be more like ours.
In modern day India, women are held to a higher standard. Yes, woman typically are supposed to cook for the family and basically keep everyone in check; but in India the

Some that could be solved without rioting. A big controversial topic here in America is how black lives matter. There have been so many incidents recently where a white cop would shot an African American person. There have been (and still going on) riots and protest trying to spread the word about how black lives matter just as equally as white lives do. The most recent riot in India is the death of one of their favorite actors. A lot of their money is made from their movies. When the news came out riots broke out in all cities, causing people to burn building, cars, buses, and tires. It seems that in America our riots are over something more meaningful than the death of an actor. Every country has their own way of grieving over different things. It boils down to every country having their differences. Each country has a specific way of doing things, but it seems like most places are slowly changing their customs to be similar to ours. Even though things are slowly changing we need to respect the differences that we all
For a long time ago, women just did anything at home: clean the house, wash clothes, cook the meals, and work outside the house and nutrient their children. Then they followed to order from their husband at home, and listen to the words of their husband. In addition, they made many little things in the military: wash clothes, serve the meals, and fix the clothes. The next things that it was convinced me when women had their own value in society. They began to raise their own worth and sense of themselves to build their country even though no one explained to them. People can consider that they endured very much but they did not still accept
Gender roles have been a predominant factor in our world since the early emergence of human societies whether they are positive or negative. They are based on expectations that societies have over the people in them. The Epic of Sunjata, shows us how men and women are treated almost equally in different forms. Women are praised for their ability to birth leaders, which is similar to the early Greek Society. In most societies, women are treated less equal than men. This was prevalent in the early Indian society. No matter the gender role, it has been shown that any society cannot survive without both men and women.
Throughout this history of the world power has been spread out throughout the countries. In the course of history there has never been a time where every country has had the equal amount of power. As history unfolds many countries have tried to break away from the countries with power so they can gain their own independence. Whether that the country takes a violent approach or a non-violent approach the goal was still the same. There have been many countries who have fought for independence but two I am focusing on are when the Americans and Indians both fought for their independence.
That being said, women were extremely limited in their role in society. First of all, women were expected to be homemakers. By homemaker, I mean the women w... ... middle of paper ... ...ay."
English Views In the seventeenth century, the English and many other Eastern countries came to the “new land” for a vast amount of reasons. Many of these foreigners came for religious freedom, some to seek fortune, and others were convicts being deported. However, for those who came across the sea, there was one thing they were not planning to have conflict with when they arrived. The natives, or as the English called them “savages”, which were a distinction on how some viewed these natives, had made this land their home long before settlers came exploring.
Women in the Elizabethan era were presented as very obedient to their husbands and respectful to them also. They had no power and no say, they were treated badly and nothing would be done to stop the behaviour. In modern society most women have as much say as the men, they are not expected to stay at home and clean etc, and instead they go to work as well. Some women are like Katherina before she was supposedly tamed, very out spoken, yet inequality still exists.
Cows, pigs, horses, deer, and dogs. Those are just a few examples of common livestock. When one pictures American colonial times, he likely sees great big plains with teepees and Indians, as well as small colonial villages full of English colonists. He probably pictures those animals roaming around, but he almost certainly does not realize the importance they played in the events that unfolded between the colonists and the Indians. Many people may not imagine that the colonists and the Indians had very much in common. Those people, however, are wrong. The colonists and the Indians had very much in common and were able cooperate with each other and live without conflict; for a while, at least. These similarities eventually gave way to rising tensions
Aunt Rosana’s Rocker As times change, everything changes with it. The roles that women take on have changed in certain cultures, but in some cultures they have remained the same. Before, men were treated with more respect and superiority, while women had no voices or say in the events that took place in their society. Today, there are situations where men are taken more seriously than women, but slowly, women are being treated with respect and play an active role in their community and have involved themselves within their community. In certain cases the roles never change because the people do not change along with the society.
Indian gender roles were well defined, and men’s and women’s responsibilities were equally crucial to
There are many different types of society all around the world. India and Canada for example, are two very different societies with many things that are complete opposites. Things like culture, the food, and people are just a few of the things that are very what make up a society and what the society is known for. Every society has different rules that they must follow. India and Canada both have some differences and similarities that are a part of their society.
The book “In the time of the butterflies” by Julia Alvarez teaches us the role of a woman in the 1940s to 1960s in the Dominican Republic. Society sets gender roles for everybody, even children. The role of a woman in India is difficult, she has to take care of the household, and the rate of illiteracy in women is high. Women are suppose to be married, if not, then people give bad stares at the. Women are not supposed to divorce, they have to put up with everything their husband does to her, even if it 's having children out of marriage. Some Teen girls have to sacrifice themselves after getting pregnant and have to drop out of school in order to provide food for their baby. Society has to know that women deserve the same equality and treatment as men do, that it is a myth that women are less strong and less smart than men are, society has not changed enough that women are treated equal to
In today 's society women play a number of rolls depending on what area in the world they live in. Here in the western part of the world we are lucky enough to live in a society where women are able to speak freely and to share what is on their mind. If a woman disagrees with a man 's opinion or something that he says she is allowed to voice her disagreement. However, in other societies throughout the world women do not have as much of a voice. They are expected to be submissive to their husband and respectful when in the presence of other men. The female population is thought of as inferior to the male population. This sort of thinking is very similar to that of the mindset of the sixteenth century. Women were thought of
This still is in many religions and countries, in the south Asia and half world countries. The lifetime of the social level is incredibly lightweight. Back then, females had shorter perfection than the person, at an equivalent time this movement still occur recently, oddly in Muslim countries that are Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Arab, and Kashmir. There is a unit many countries wherever girls area unit still doing the identical activities like girls within the past century. Gender stereotypes area unit the ways that females area unit approved in quaint ways that and changes wished to be succeeded to boost these stereotypes. It’s uncommon how females aren 't engaging in special activities within the past. If a girls act nowadays, then she will bring her families and society to be a well-organized. So as to reconstruct and revive the gender stereotype, girls should be freelance with nice strength as a result of to be liberal, we tend to cannot bring independence to tug down the
AMERICAN CULTURE VS INDIAN CULTURE Cultural comparison (West vs East) Everybody has their own definition of Culture – and when this word is used generally, most audiences have a rough idea of its meaning. Culture usually refers to the beliefs, ideas, languages, rituals and traditions of certain communities, that are passed from generation to generation continuously over the past many centuries. In society, two cultures cannot be the same if one is located on the west coast and the other one is all the way to the East. As we compare, the American and Indian cultures have very vast differences between them.
A self confident nation, India is prepared to interact with the rest of the world without anxiety or inhibition. Just
