The French and American Revolutions occurred within six years of each other, and they share similarities and differences. At the root of both revolutions were disgruntled citizens. Both the French and Americans were irritated with the monarchy. However, the French were led by the lower-class citizens, and the Americans were led by the upper-class citizens (Sayre 385). Also, the French aimed to reorganized their own monarchy while the Americans aimed to separate from the British monarchy (Sayre 385).
