Differences And Similarities Between Perseus And The Lighting Theif

In the story Perseus and the movie Percy Jackson and the Lighting Theif, The Characters have some similarities and differences. To Start off in the story Perseus, Perseus was the Son of Zeus and Danae and in the Movie of Percy he was the Son of Poseidon. Also in the Movie Percy goes to school and doesn't know that he was a demigod.

Percy Jackson retails the story of Perseus in a more modern way for more people to understand.Even though that Percy Jackson's story is in a more modern way the both storys still have the same main story plots. For example Percy had shoes that made him fly to go collect these tiny beads to get him to the other side of Olympus(these shoes had little wings on them), and Perseus had the same flying shoes and not to forget the magical weapons they had like the shield and sword that had a lighting bolt in it that Percy had no idea it was in there.Also the main point of it was Perseus and Percy went on a quest and in both of the quests they used meduesa's head as almost a weapon to turn anything into a stone when in trouble.This proves that even though they had differences it still proves that they had changed it to be

more modern and make it more interesting,but still having the same story.

Another similarity they both had was like I said was they were both demigods which means that one parent is a god and another is a mortal(Human),but basically they both use their brains more than their brawns.An great example of them both using their brains over brawn was when they were fighting meduesa.

When they were fighting meduesa they both used the mirror instead of uses their own physical strength.Why this is smart is because when your fighting medusea you can’t look straight at her in her eyes because then you turn into stone and with the mirror you could look at her without turning into stone.And also like when I said they used medusea’s head to fight against other people well like they used it to freeze the hydra’s which was a dragon that had multiple heads and they used it to freeze them because they were in

danger.

Finally, Percy Jackson was a good kid that turned out to become a misfit and Perseus was the misfit already. Percy Jackson never fit into school he was always getting picked on for his weird,unique ideas he would come up with which made him anger and started to unleash to his family and friends. Also Percy never knew he was a demigod until one day and it shocked him and confused him which made him acted different because he didn’t understand it. And Lastly after Percy found out his was a demigod was went to a different land that was full of demigods and people in training and he got to learn more about his dad who was a god and that lead him to go onto a quest to find him.
To sum it all up the stories have similar plot elements also events as well even though they have some differences they still have similarities it was just retold in a different form from the original Perseus to the modern Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief.
