In order to clearly structure an argument to why love is a necessity and not a luxury, we must first depict the literal meanings of luxury and of love. Luxury is one of those words that cannot be easily defined, its definition heavily relies on personal experiences and lifestyles. Luxury is something that is not needed for survival, it is not a necessity for human beings even though many seek it. According to dictionary.com, a luxury is "a material object, service, etc., conducive to sumptuous living, usually a delicacy, elegance, or refinement of living rather than a necessity." Similarly to luxury, love is also a word that isn 't easily defined. Its definition relies on personal experience and character. Love is not concrete and can be different for each individual. Because there is no specifically recognized definition for love, I made my own. I define love as a strong attraction and devotion towards someone or something. Even though we all have different definitions of love, we all share a common need for it, we all need a sense of love in order to live healthy lives. Both love and luxury do have literal meanings, but their true meanings are very personal and vary with each individual. …show more content…
Love is what drives your heart, it is what fuels human passion. Part of what makes you a human being is the biological ability express love like no other living creature. We not only love, but feed from others love. Loving is not the only necessity, but receiving love is also necessary for a healthy state of mind. Being loved gives you a sense of security, a sense of importance, of wontedness. A life without love would be lonely, sad, dark, and in a constant state of depression. I myself cannot imagine not loving nor not being loved. Loving is part of what separates us from other animals, the human way of loving is unique to our species and it is something we all share in
It is not wrong to have luxuries, what is measured is how we obtain them, our attitude towards them and what we do when them. Do they own us, or do we own them?
money is the only way for one to live a life of luxury. When inheriting
Love is just a man-made construct created to justify our decadence. Human are hedonistic animals: we always seek pleasure. Truthfully, we are inherently selfish, caring for only our own well-being, and even if we say we love without costs, we love because it gives us the utmost pleasure: the pursuit of happiness.
Wealth and fame are not necessities that are needed to be happy with life. Fame and wealth are very sought after, because many people think those things and happiness go hand and hand. People are often mislead by this theory, money can make a person happy but it can also ruin every relationship they have and it can kill any ounce of joy they have. Wealth can be an idol that blinds people to the truly important things in life. When people solely focus on money to make them happy, they become emotionally and physically exhausted.
The next definition of love comes from Romeo, before he met Juliet. According to his definition, love is painful “Love is a smoke made with the fume of sighs” (I.i.197). “Is love a tender thing? It is too rough, / Too rude, too boist’rous, and it pricks like thorn” (I.iv.25-26). He keeps to himself, not venturing out much in daylight, or even allowing it into his room: “Shuts up his windows, locks fair daylight out” (I.i.142). I believe Romeo is both right and wrong: unrequited love is painful, but Romeo does not truly love - as he is merely infatuated by a woman.
to love, money makes no matter, be it past, present or future. Love is love, and
There are people in this world that become irrational when they fall in love with their mates, but are blind to the opportunity costs they are exchanging to win their devotion. Basically, according to Brian ORoark, love is the reflection of an inelastic demand curve. Tim McGraw, for an example, wrote a song “Just to See You Smile,” explaining that he would do anything no matter the cost to get his girl to love him. Unfortunately, most people cannot pursue the happiness of their spouse by spending money – even though they ignore the fact that they are penniless because love makes them irrational. By becoming incoherent upon love, it will back fire one financially due to the amount of money one spends for his or her spouse exceeding the income
Love is said to be one of the most desired things in life. People long for it, search for it, and crave it. It can come in the form of partners, friends, or just simply family. To some, love is something of a necessity in life, where some would rather turn a cold shoulder to it. Love can be the mixture of passion, need, lust, loyalty, and blood. Love can be extraordinary and breathtaking. Love being held so high can also be dangerous. Love can drive people to numerous mad things with it dangerously so full of craze and passion.

The word love is usually misused or misinterpreted. There are numerous meanings and definitions to this overly used word. Not many of them make much sense to me. Love is a feeling of complete bliss. Love is something that can’t be touched or bought, but is something that is much better than money and earthly objects. I can stay here and describe love all day long and still have so much more to say about this word days later. Love isn’t a word that should be used lightly, but usually is. I believe that love is the most commonly used, but most understood word ever known
Love is having compassion for others, sharing feelings and your life with another person, as well as, having faith in others and forgiving those we love for the any errs that they may make. Most of all, we must be committed to those we love. Of course, this is only my opinion. No matter how long I try to explain what love is ultimately it is up to you, the reader, to define what love is to you. So let me leave you now with the words of the great Humanist Erich Fromm, "Can anything be learned about the art of love, except by practicing it?"
Love by definition is an emotion explored in philosophy, religion, and literature, often as either romantic love, the fraternal love of others, or the love of God based on the definition found in The Encarta Encyclopedia. As I explored the definition by means of the Internet, books, and articles I noticed the definitions changed quite a bit, but yet had the same basic understanding. The definition I found in The Encarta Encyclopedia was probably the most simple and most basic. It refers to love in the whole aspect, which is Godly, fraternal, and romantic. All in which can only be defined by one word and that it love.
Love is the basis of every day life, and it gives us the power to feel so affectionately
Love is the most powerful emotion that most of us will ever experience. People can do some grateful things out of hate and fear, but love can push us to do much, much worse. It is often love can cause us to hate, whether it is out of jealousy, or anger because our loved one has been hurt. Love, ultimately, is a sacrifice, whatever the relationship, and it must be the most powerful force in the universe because as human true sacrifices for nothing less.
What is love? Love is a very special and meaningful word to each human being. Each human being has his/her own thoughts about love to guide himself/herself to land safely and smoothly into the kingdom of Love. Without this preconceived idea of love, people would be acting like a blind person searching for the light with thousand of obstacles in front of him.
