I am more than halfway through my senior year of high school. I have a good grasp on what I am going to do for my profession the rest of my life. It is difficult thinking about how I am going to accomplish my goals of becoming a diesel mechanic. I have done many things to work my way to achieve my goals. In my free time I like to do many different things. Some things I like to do is work on my pulling truck. It's not just my pulling truck I like to work on it's also my daily driver and my third truck. I also like to ride atvs and go offroading, but you break a lot of stuff going off roading so that means i also have to repair it. I don't mind fixing stuff that I break, but i would much rather take things apart to do performance upgrades. …show more content…
Being a diesel mechanic you must know how to repair and upgrade engines and vehicles. One thing I have done to prepare myself to be a diesel mechanic in my future is i got a job at a small diesel performance and repair shop. I don't mind working there and it pays good but, I just can't see myself there in 5 years. I have learned a lot and plain on learning a lot more before I go to college. It is nice to be surrounded by experienced mechanics so if you have a question you may ask them. In the past i have worked a lot, i've been working for my dad and his construction company since i was 12. It has taught me a lot of things. Its taught me what work is like and how it feels to work for you money but, most important he has taught me what hard work is like. Me and my dad have talked a lot he the years i've worked for him. Mostly about how hard I is running your own business and how much hard work it is. But he also talks about how much it has payed off working hard so someday he won't have to work hard. Finally just this year I have decided I don't want to take over the company and someday I want to start my own. I like construction but I like wrenching on stuff a lot more. In construction you must know how to work hard.
If you can work hard it will make it very easy to find a job. Being a mechanic is much different. In the year i have been a diesel mechanic i have learned that you must work smarter not harder. If you use your brain to work then you don't have to work as hard as you can. Also being a mechanic you must have a lot of common sense. It might seem hard taking stuff apart but it pretty simple, it's just a puzzle and needs put back together everything is right in front of you. If I wanted to stay where I am i don't need further schooling. But i want to do better than where i am now. To do that i am planing on going to lincoln tech to further my education and get a degree in diesel mechanic and also in cnc machining. Both cnc machining and diesel mechanics go hand and hand. You must have engine machined to do very good upgrades to pulling trucks. I think that being a diesel mechanic would be a good job for me because I don't like dealing with people all the time but, i can tolerate people if i have to. Being a mechanic you must talk to the customer a little bit about there cars or trucks. Most of the time though you are just working with no one else around and you can just focus on the car or truck. If i start my own buisness i will have to talk to more people. As i am a young mechanic working for someone else i will learn more and more how to talk to people
better. The reasons i am interested in this field is i like to wrench on things and fix them. If you do something you love doing for a profession it's like it won't even be a job to you. There are many other things i could do but i think that being a diesel mechanic is best for me. All i have to do is get through high school and get into lincoln tech and graduate with a degree in cnc and diesel mechanic. With those two fields it isn't going to be hard to find a job.

Its unusal cause you can get called in unannounced and have 2 vehicles one day and 6 the next and you work until the jobs done so hours change as well. There are normally no seasonal fluctuations for diesel mechanics and you work summer fall winter and spring. Because of that and the fact that hours vary you can sometimes wind up working on days you don’t want to work or get called in unexpectedly. The job of diesel mechanics also takes a lot of other skills like multi-tasking an example would be you would have to check gauges while repairing something on the motor or radiator you also need improvisation skills and an example of that would be when you’re on the job site and you don’t have all the parts or probably mainly tools you would have to improvise something to make it work so you can get the
When people are younger everyone always ask what do you want to be when you are older? Of course when it is children everyone is filled with wonder about their answer whether it’s a model, astronaut, race car driver, etc. Now that I’m older it’s expected for me to know exactly what to do with my life and how to do it. I realized very soon that I sometimes can be an indecisive person when it comes to life-long decisions. This being a huge decision in one’s life you could only imagine how many times I’ve changed my idea on what to go to school for. Although, changing my mind become a norm, I eventually decided a degree in business/marketing is the right path for me. What are my career and educational goals, what will my job would be like, and
I remember a time in my life when I would always play with little children. At that point, at the age of six or seven, I decided to become a pediatrician or a kindergarten teacher. When I started high school, I started feeling stressed out because of the pressure that I was doing to myself to reach my goal of becoming a pediatrician. I could hardly focus on the topic we would have during class because I would be thinking about my future as a pediatrician. With the help of my friends, they helped me overcome the obstacles that I had. The more I thought about what profession I wanted to be, I thought about how much I loved working and dealing with computers. My friends and cousins told me that I should and can be what ever I wanted, and that helped me decide to major in computer engineering at San Jose State University. So you see when it comes down to life, dreams are not the only thing that can keep men going, friendships, pets and companionships can do the same.
Diesel Mechanics are vital to keep the truck running at their pinical of performance. WIthout diesel trucks to deliver merchendice to the stores on the inner most states of America there would have to be more factories in the more wooded areas. South Dakota is an agricultural state and the only way the higher populated states on the coast can receive our crops is by hauling it in a diesel truck. Though the career I have chosen does polute the environment, it does provided fresh and organic food to the citizens across the nation.

I would like to go into the field of a physical therapist and sports medicine, I fell I will enjoy this more than any other type of career just because I already have a lot of interest in it.
The Diesel engine, a compression ignition, internal combustion engine, was invented in 1893 by French inventor Rudolf Diesel. Diesel continued to developed his invention until 1897. “[his]... compression ignition engine could burn any fuel, the prototypes he built would run on peanut or vegetable oil–and needed no ignition system: It ignited by introducing fuel into a cylinder full of air that had been compressed to an extremely high pressure and was, therefore, extremely hot.” The Diesel engine impacted greatly on society in many ways, both good and bad.
and I started to take it out. They test broken down machinery using computerized diagnostic programing, these particular programs designed to run various tests and find the problem in the machine. It is very important that as an industrial machinery mechanic keeps records of what they repaired, how long it took to repair the machinery, and how much the repair cost. A description of his job is that he services and repairs cars, performing a diagnosis on a car, doing test drives, completing repair orders, and talking to customers. The field has changed a little, such as, more electronic parts on cars and different places of parts. Something I wish someone told me before I started this career is that tools cost so much money and my body would hurt a decent amount. Chance for advancement in this field is all based on if you have your ASE certifications and how good you are at doing a diagnosis and repairing cars quickly and with perfect
It has taken a very long time for me to decide on the path that I wanted to take for my career. I have almost always known that I wanted to be an engineer. I was always more interested in applying my knowledge to solve problems rather than just research and understand the world. However, I had little to no inkling as to which field of engineering I wanted to go in to. I had always been a dabbler, involving myself in a large variety of activities with the interest of learning about how stuff works. I started out learning how to use the tools in the shed outback, making pinewood derby cars and model rockets. I would help my dad with home improvement and repair projects around the house. As time went on, my ability learns and apply
