Did Romeo And Juliet Have Been Happy Together

If Romeo and Juliet had lived the would not have been happy together. In the play Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare the Capulet and Montague families have been feuding for many years. Over time the hatred has carried on from generation to generation. When Romeo and Juliet met for the first time they instantly fell in love. Although the families hated each other no one knew their children were secretly in love. Since that night the two could not stop thinking about each other and when they saw each other again the decided to get married. That night in the Friar’s cell the two were married and couldn’t be happier, but little did they know what the events in the future hold. Only a couple hours after the wedding Mercutio is killed by Tybalt,

which enrages Romeo to the point where he isn’t thinking right and challenged Tybalt. After the duel between the two Tybalt ended up dead. After all, they have been through they wouldn’t have been happy together mainly because their families are so different and despise each other and Romeo being banished would create obstacles that the two aren’t ready to overcome.
Romeo and Juliet’s love for each other was kept a secret only two people knew what they planned on doing. Only a few days after they met it was decided that the two were going to be married but the parents had no say in the marriage. There was no possible way the parents would have agreed to let their children marry the enemy which is why they were forced to do it in secret. Even though they loved each other their families feud was in the way. Not only has the feud caused many problems for other people it would affect this marriage drastically, the two would be separated right away or they may have been shunned by their own families. Even though it seems like a good idea that the families would shun them it was also sending more problems. Both Romeo and Juliet are still young Juliet almost 14 and Romeo are 15 or 16 which means they most likely don’t know how to cook, keep safe, provide money for each other, and there is no shelter for them to go to. With the feud just causing these many problems at the start you can easily tell that their happiness would be impaired because both kids are going to want to stay with their families even if it means losing each other
