What happens when a cat decides to become a detective? Four cats? Four cats and two dogs? Four cats, two dogs, and one hamster? Diary of a Snoopy Cat, that's what. Diary of a Snoopy Cat is the fifth book in the Inca Cat (fictional) book series. It is possible to read this book as a standalone, however. I am reviewing it as such because that's how I read it; with no knowledge of the previous four books. Inca, self-proclaimed head of the household, has recently helped her doggie friend, Terrance, solve a mystery (along with help from her brother and sister). Now, bitten by the detective bug, she dreams of becoming known far and wide. What happens when Boss, a neighboring Rottweiler, reports a mysterious missing will? With Terrance and his master in the Himalayas searching for the missing husband of a friend, this Siberian kitty takes it upon herself to solve the mystery. Oh, and lets the others help. A little bit. What I enjoyed most about this book is, while meant for children, the story was so well written and executed that it kept my attention captured. Kudos to R. F. Kristi! This is quite a feat and speaks highly of Ms. Kristi's …show more content…
There are awkward paragraph breaks, unfinished sentences, missing commas, subject and verb disagreements, and even a couple homophone switches. There are also certain places where some letters or symbols seem thrown in randomly. For example: "Low,en ITC"ance is coming over." [sic] Due to the context, I was able to gather that it was supposed to be "Lance is coming over." I understand if this is just collateral from switching from Word Doc to PDF or MOBI to EPUB or the like. However, as this format was a version offered to review, I would be amiss not to mention it. This was my least favorite part; it was a bit of a jarring exit back to reality to be reading and have things like this appear for me to attempt to decipher before
The relationship between Christopher and his father is extremely sensitive. One moment Christopher’s father lashes out towards him, and the next moment they visit the zoo together, enjoying each other’s company. Because of the Asperger’s, Christopher prefers to do his own thing without interaction from other people. He especially disgusts anyone telling him what to do. Christopher thinks his father interferes in his life while his father tries to be involved in it as much as possible, causing agony to Christopher. The article The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time states, “Eventually, his father comes to get him, and tells Christopher to not investigate the dog’s death any further.” One could debate that Christopher’s father does
This book was very confusing and disorganized. It was very hard to follow and the author
The world is plagued with an inseparable mix of good and evil. People make mistakes, but often start out with good intentions. Often times actions live in the grey zone, a combination of good intentions but bad outcomes. In Mark Haddon’s novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time there are many decisions that could be considered morally ambiguous. The story is told from the perspective of an autistic fifteen-year-old, Christopher Boone, who is investigating the death of his neighbor’s dog. His mother, Judy Boone supposedly died two years back, when in actuality she ran off to London with another man and, in turn, has been shut out of Christopher’s life. His father, Ed Boone hides the truth involving Christopher’s mother, pretending
I am a lover of dogs and what I chose my topic about was dogs. I have three dogs I love them to pieces. Dogs have so much history from all the different breeds to how they came to be. They are very interesting from their head to their feet. Today I will tell you fun facts to old ancient, let’s begin!
One day, their father, brought home a black and white puppy.”Papi came home with a dog whose kind we had never seen before.A black and white-speckled electric current of energy(Young Girl 57).” Although, all the siblings are happy that they have a dog their mom says that the dog will be nothing but trouble. According to the father, the dog was given by the American Consul, Mister Victor, who is helping them get their visas to go to the U.S. Once they get their visas from mister victor they gather all their belongings so they can board a plane in the middle of the night to America. “Late one morning Mami gave my sisters and me the news.our visas had come.Mister Victor had arranged everything, and that very night we were going to the United States! Wasn’t that wonderful! She flashed us a bright smile, as if someone were taking her a picture(Young girl 61).” The Young girl begged her mother to take liberty, but her mom told her that the dog was not allowed through the plane and she can only bring one toy. Fearing that the men that scared her and liberty earlier will return and hurt the dog if he is left behind, the girl get him out of the yard and kicks him until he runs away. Leaving her and her family on their way to America with nothing else on the young girl's mind except,
‘Once’ there was ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time’ where the two main characters, Felix and Christopher Boone, travelled on their adventures to find their loved ones that were ‘gone’. In this oral I shall be talking about the similarities and differences of both books storylines and then I will begin talking about the similarities and differences in the main characters, exploring the themes and subjects of: Naïve narration, Isolation, Empathy, Tragedy, How the characters think and how they act around other people. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (By Mark Haddon), is a book where the main character Christopher Boone who has autism discovers his neighbour’s dog, lying dead on the ground, he then decides to
Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter who did self-portraits and was considered a feminist icon. She is one of the most important female artists of the twentieth century. She originally wanted to become a doctor, but a bus accident left her unable to do so. I chose this artist because she had one eyebrow and I thought it was strange for a rich woman to have such a statement in the early 1900s. I thought to myself, she must be an interesting person and I was right. She didn't have any formal training but she developed her artistic skills and later would influence people and culture. The painting is called, Itzucintli Dog with Me and it is one of my favorites.
I have never considered that a book about a dog could be so appealing and full of deep thoughts. But I changed my viewpoint after reading the autobiographical novel “Marley & Me” written by John Grogan which depicts an astonishing story about the neurotic and loyal, clumsy and loving dog named Marley. In fact, as the author mentioned in some interviews, he intended to write the “dog story”, but soon after he realized that it was impossible to do so without including the family life [2]. That is why the title “Marley & Me” encapsulates the main topic of the book such as the relationship between a human and a pet. To start with let me introduce main characters: John, Jenny, and Marley.
Not too long ago, Ms. Morris’s beloved dog, Hattie, had 5 puppies. Everyone in town thought the puppies were boring and ugly. Their eyes were closed, made a little movement, and didn’t make any noise. Nobody thought the dogs were cute, and nobody wanted them.
Her feline companion (who she does not know is talking to her) informs her of her lover’s marriage to a wealthy woman, which she presumably cannot be hurt by anymore considering her death. She guesses again, and it lands on “kin”, who is a family member. She is notified by the dog of their acknowledgment that mourning will not be of benefit as she will not come back to life. The woman gives a final guess, and asks if it is her enemy. She learns the opposite, that her enemy has concluded the woman’s unworthiness after death.
There’s always a cat on a street, and a cat in a house. Alece was that cat on a street but for long she’ll not stay. She was a stray with an eye for a guy who’s name was Mateo, also a cat but he was a different color, she was slick and had a shiny black coat with a fluffy white tipped tail, and hazel brown eyes. Mateo has a white slick coat with dark brown spots, and he had green eyes. Somehow they found each other after the pound truck crashed and all the animals escaped.
Some people may say a dog is just a dog, but for me they are extremely desirable. Dogs are a person’s best friend. They make me cry, laugh, and I wish never adopted one because they do smell. Although, dogs smell, it should not be a justification to not obtain one. I mean what does not smell? I never realized how taking care of a dog could change my life; until I saw how they sleep throughout the day, they are always there to comfort me, and how they provide a responsible way of living.
As my Aunt and I entered Judy's house which was a fifteen minute drive from where I live, I noticed cut black and white cat long haired cat with a pink nose and mysterious slanted eyes sneaking up on me near the corner of the hallway of the house. Judy shared with me that Katie was spayed, what foods to feed the cat and that she was tramatized. Judy had shared with me that she took Katie to the Shelter to try to find the owners but to no aval. You see, Katie had showed up at Judy's arcadia door so Judy took her in and kept her for several months before deciding to give the cat away.
When I was nine years old my grandparents adopted a two year puppy named, maximilian. We, of course, called him Max. When we went to the kennel to pick out a new dog Max didn 't seem like an option. He was a scrawny little puppy tucked in the corner of the shelter. Max was a boisterous springer spaniel mix, and when we first got him he was black and white. Overtime his white fur was masked by black spots, similar to age spots, which made him uniquely mine. Max was suppose to my grandfathers new hunting dog when he was newly adopted. However, at the very first gunshot Max bolted and my grandfather spent a three hours looking for Max in the woods. After the hunting incident my grandfather wrote Max off and, he became my dog.
