One of the most captivating things about the film is that Diana Prince comes from an island that is an all-woman paradise. We see a diverse group of Amazon warriors training for battle, from riding on horses with arrows and bows to using swords. The greatest warrior, Antiope, suggests that Diana learns to fight at such a young age, to be able to defend herself in case of an invasion. They are taught to do everything on their own, without the help of men. It is believed that Zeus created "The Amazons" to restore mankind's heart, and peace to the Earth. Therefore, Diana grows up believing she is capable of doing anything. Then after she rescues Steve Trevor, the American spy pilot, she approaches him by telling him, "You're a man." After Steve has told them about the conflict between mankind in his world, Diana tells him, "We are the bridge to a greater understanding between all men. It is our duty to save the world." (Wonder Woman, 2017) Diana has made it clear that a woman is who is going to help him solve this conflict and return the peace to the world. After Diana has made the choice that she is going to accompany Steve, her mother refuses to let her go and she replies, "I cannot stand by while innocent lives are lost. If no one else will defend the world from Ares, then I must. Who would I be if I stay?" (Wonder Woman, 2017) Hyppolyta, her mother, replies, "Be careful in the world of men Diana, they do not deserve you." (Wonder Woman, 2017) Diana does not comprehend what her mother is telling her, but once on the boat with Steve she tells him, "I'm the man who can and once I find and destroy Ares the German armies will be freed from his influence and they will be good men again and the world will be

With reference to “Superman 1”, the leading lady, Lois Lane, is often placed in the face of danger and needs to be rescued. In the year in which “Superman 1” was created, woman were not yet seen as equal to men as they are in the present. With that in mind, Lois Lane would have been seen as a more independent woman as she was living alone in an apartment, working in a career field often dominated by men at the time of the movies creation, but never the less, Lois is still a passive woman who often is not able to escape from danger by herself. Wonder Woman aka Diana Prince is the son of Queen Hippolyta, one – the only child born in Paradise Island (now renamed Themyscira) for three thousand years of life in the Amazon race there. Amazon race itself was created about 1200 B.C. when the Greek goddess evokes the soul of the woman who killed the man. One soul is left, the soul will be born as Diana, the soul of the son of the first woman to be killed, the man, who was

In historic Greece, the characteristics of a hero were for the most part left only for men to achieve. Heroes were viewed as those who were kind to friends, vicious to enemies. They were also men who risked their lives regularly everyday, fighting for not only their country, but also treasures such as women, gold, and armor, among other things. Women, however, rarely accomplished such things, for what made a good woman was her obedience to her husband, her loyalty to her family, and, for the most part, other functions that a housewife is usually considered to perform. In order to win renown, however, a woman was forced to commit actions normally left to men. Antigone, Electra, and Medea, do not attempt to be what was considered a “good” women in ancient Greece; rather, their actions become masculine, instead. This is why they were known in the ancient world.

Through all of this, she has had to pilot her invisible jet through territories that her male counterparts have never had to. She is constantly pulled in two directions; her stories must be entertaining and non-threatening to the male status quo, while simultaneously furthering her as the original symbol of Girl Power. She is praised for being an icon of strength to women everywhere, but chastised for wearing a skimpy costume and tying men up, as if she were no more than a male fantasy. No comic book character has had to endure as much scrutiny as Wonder Woman. That's because Wonder Woman represents an entire gender, at a time of important social flux.
Even though there is no disorder inside the Amazon society and Hippolyta is characterized as being "the fair and doughty queen" (23), the fact that a ruler and her warriors are female represents disorder within medieval society. It is a man's duty to rule, fight, protect his country, and make decisions. A woman should complain to a man and seek his help and protection. The Knight emphasizes it by showing woeful ladies of Thebes that are asking Theseus for help,
Princess. What does the term really mean? Most people associate it with a fairy-tale life. You have everything you want right at your finger-tips. You are perfectly happy and nothing can go wrong. In reality though, is this true? Lady Diana Spencer was seen as a perfect, flawless princess. But who really was she? What did the title “Princess” mean to her? Diana secretly struggled with insecurity her entire life, but her determination and compassion shaped the way the world thought of her.
Things only get more complicated when you consider the frame narrative that explains Wonder Woman’s existence. She was born as Princess Diana (interestingly paralleling another icon of womanhood) in an Amazon community that seems pretty clearly grounded in lesbianism. Although the women in this harmonious and idyllic Amazon community have gone to great lengths to hide and protect their island from incursions by men, they are nonetheless delighted when a male American army officer inadvertently crash-lands in their utopia. So smitten with him are they, in fact, that they stage a ruthless physical competition to decide who will get to pair off with him. When Diana (later Wonder Woman) wins, she happily abandons her position as a royal ruler of the Amazons to accompany him back to the United States and take a boring desk job as a lowly secretary in the army. She even trades in her cool Amazon garb for a pair of gl...

Diana tried to not let various things get her down, even though some could have destroyed her. Diana also spoke with surprising truthfulness about her own personal struggles with bulimia and suicide, giving individuals struggling with these issues a role model of openness and honesty. Princess Diana used her media popularity to bring attention to the needs of the forgotten and needy of the world. She was out to seek a symbol in everyone’s life, life itself.
