They are mentors to many of their students and an inspiration to a brighter future. Throughout my life mentors have played a very major role in my success in education and life matters to the point where I have managed. Surprisingly many of my mentors are teachers. There are many times that I have thought of giving up not only on education but also in life but later find myself reading and achieving more. Just as in the movie discussed in this paper mentors’ encouraging words are the reason why I did not give up. As they enter the classroom they see all of the children smiling at their desks, beaming with joy. Knowing that they are the cause of their happiness makes what they are doing worthwhile. There is nothing more accomplishing than seeing children succeeding in their education. Mentoring does not only benefit the children involved, but also the mentors. When I look back to my young developing stages in life, I always ask myself where would I be today if it wasn’t for my teachers? Teachers are the ones who build our future generations. In my life, my favorite teachers were always the ones who taught lessons inside and outside the classroom. They taught us about our past, our language and the world around us for tests and quizzes while also teaching us how to navigate through life with their lessons that weren’t needed for our grades. Whatever the answer is, we have to face reality and be conscious that being a teacher does not only means to teach a lesson and asses students learning. It requires playing the different roles a teacher must perform whenever is needed and required by our learners, identify our pupils needs and preferences, respecting their integrity and individuality but influencing and motivating them to improve themselves and become independent.
As we reminisce and reflect back either on our childhood or academic career, we tend to have that one teacher who was memorable to us in some way - for their sense of humor, their stellar personality, or perhaps having that charisma and charm no other teacher had to make a difficult subject and it 's concepts fun to learn. Teaching has always been a dream of mine ever since I was a little girl. I have had multiple teachers who have impacted my life in many ways, but the one teacher who has inspired me to pursue a career in the education field as a teacher would be my math teacher that I have this year. She inspires me every day and is truly my role model.
