In the modern society, more and more people began to use the computers. Whether from the aspects of work, life or entertainment, a great increasing number of people more rely on the computers. People use computers for work conference, using computers to net shopping, sometime people also watch some TV shows and movies on a computer. All this shows us that the computers' position become more and more high in humans lives. Computers, however, is not the only carrier on convenient people's work and live. In the aspects of convenient to people's life, the network also plays a really important role.
Network seems to be a very mystery thing, people just to use the Internet in their daily lives, but no one would be to explore what is a network, what is the meaning of the network. The Internet, namely wide area network, local area network and single machine according to a certain communication protocol make up the international computer network. The Internet is the result of two or two more computers' terminals, the client and the server through the computer information technology means to connect with each other, people can send mail to thousands of miles away friends. completing a task and play games together.
Network first appeared in the 1950s. In the 1950 s, communication researchers recognize the need to allow a regular communication between different computer users and different communication networks. This prompted the dispersed network, queuing theory and research of the packet exchange. In 1960 the ARPA net which is the U.S. Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) according to the sake of the cold war established caused a big technological progress and make it become the de...

... is becoming more and more difficult to leave the network. So that whatever the positive effects or the negative effects will affect the people's life a lot. In order to let the positive effects of internet become bigger, there need the law to limit the content on the internet.
We can predict that follow this trend, the internet and world wide web would fill into people's life, the lives would become informatization.

What is the Internet? The Internet is a global computer network providing a variety of information and communications facilities, consisting of interconnected networks using standardized communcation protocols.
The history of the internet takes us back to the pioneering of the network and the development of capable technologies. The explosion of the internet’s popularity of the 1990’s was large and dramatic, boosting our economy and then helped to bring it into a major recession. One can only hope that the explosion becomes organized and slightly standardized in the interest of the general public. Despite all of these conjectures and speculations only time can tell the future of the largest network in the world.
To attempt to define a network in a few sentences would be a fool’s errand. A network could be seen as simply a grid of interconnecting connections between multiple bodies. However when this vision is applied to real-world systems, they all start to differ. There is not anything that exists in the universe that is not part of a network. A network is the result of different parts or members which have similarities in parts of their identity. This similarity that they have in common, they will also have with other bodies forming a network between them. Most of these factors of identity are different from those of most others. As a result, each factor will be in common with different other members of different networks. Each factor includes this body in a multitude of networks. This means that no one thing is in one and only one network, but is included in many.
The definition of the Internet put in one sentence is: A worldwide network of computer networks that use the TCP/IP network protocols to facilitate data transmission and exchange, where anyone with a computer can access the internet through an ISP (Internet Service Provider).
A network is a group of two or more computer systems which are linked together to communicate with one another. It is a telecommunication network that allows computers to exchange data. In computer networks, networked computing devices pass data to each other along data connections. The connections between nodes are established using either cable media or wireless media. The best-known computer network is the Internet.
Although the exact date of origin of the Internet is not established, its history began with the development of electronic computers in the 1950s. Leonard Kleinrock from MIT published a paper on packet-switching theory in July 1962, and the first book on the subject in 1964. Packet-switching is defined as a digital networking communications method that groups all transmitted data—regardless of content, type, or structure, into suitably sized block, called network packets. A network packet is a formatted unit of data carried by a packet-switched network. Kleinrock argued that the theoretical feasibility of communications using packets rather than circuits. In 1965, MIT researcher Lawrence G. Roberts worked with Thomas Merrill to create the first wide-area computer network ever built, which determined the attempt to make computers talk to each other as possible. In 1967, Roberts published his plan for the ARPANET, Advanced Research Projects Agency Network. Due to Kleinrock’s development on the packet-switching theory, his Network Measurement Center was selected to be the first node on ARPANET. By the end of 1969, four host computers were connected together to the ARPANET, and the developing Internet was ready to launch. This eventually led to the development...
Since the very beginning of the Information Age, life in the world and post societies have been described as a constant stream of ever changing products, unprecedented methods of production and dynamic means of distribution. The development of the world wide web, for example, is a major breakthrough in the advance of communication. Today, the World Wide Web has become a huge cultural movement including millions of people. The world of information that we now live in has already altered and changed many different aspects of our lives, both directly or indirectly.
The Internet has become a major tool for communication and access to information for over two and half billion people (Wright 121). Although Internet has become an unavoidable reality that is consuming our planet in a web of information. This process is being shaped by our actions and choices which ultimately drives us together (Deibert 11). Nowadays China has over 538 million netizens, the world’s largest online community (Feng & Guo 335).
The Internet is a network of networks, linking computers to computers sharing the TCP/IP protocols. Each runs software to provide or "serve" information and/or to access and view information. The Internet is the transport vehicle for the information stored in files or documents on another computer. It can be compared to an international communications utility servicing computers. It is sometimes compared to a giant international plumbing system.
The Internet is an extremely educational and communicative tool. Everyone can access a tremendous amount of information and connect with people on the other end of the planet; it is capable of doing everything. Nowadays, the society is facing a variety of challenges and controversies which are mostly related to religion, morality, the economic crisis, etc., and the most talked-about issue in today’s world is “Internet censorship”. Although the Internet is very useful, many people are suggesting the idea of censoring the Internet; however, the government should not censor the Internet because a free and open Internet usage has many positive impacts on people’s lives.
The influence of the computer technology is mainly manifested on the internet in daily lives. In the 20th century, mass media went through network improvements around the world. Information technology, digital and networked information communication has brought human free, convenience and interaction. The wide application of information technology improves the working efficiency. It not only helps individuals to get relaxed, but also extend the circle of friends; however, this can be problematic for some individuals as well. Improvement in computer technology may lead to over dependence on the computer, social deficit and changes of communication.
Term Paper: The History of the Internet The Internet began like most things in our society, that is to say that the government started it. The Internet started out as an experimental military network in the 1960s. Doug Engelbart prototypes an "Online System" (NLS) which does hypertext browsing, editing, email, and so on. The Internet is a worldwide broadcasting resource used for distributing information and a source for interaction between people on their computers. In 1973, the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) initiated a research program to investigate techniques and technologies for interlinking packet networks of various kinds.
Recently, the technology are developing and making our life convenient. For example, computer, games, and smartphones. Especially, the smartphone had developed so much. Each year every electronic maker sales new type of smartphones, and sometimes those made a trend. It made people to buy them, so when people look around on the street I think most of the people has smartphones and staring at them. Though these developments, the internet become an unnecessary system for people who use these devices. Internet can make us buy things, make things meet peoples. Spread of smartphones, the internet especially the SNS; social network systems become popular. These are exists before the smartphone appeared, however, smartphone made SNS popular. SNS is
Only five years after Barran proposed his version of a computer network, ARPANET went online. Named after its federal sponsor, ARPANET initially linked four high-speed supercomputers and was intended to allow scientists and researchers to share computing facilities by long-distance. By 1971, ARPANET had grown to fifteen nodes, and by 1972, thirty-seven. ARPA’s original standard for communication was known as “Network Control Protocol” or NCP. As time passed, however, NCP grew obsolete and was replaced by a new, higher-level standard known as TCP-IP, which is still in use today.
The influence of the electronic devices, multimedia and computers are the things that dealt with our daily life. Especially the internet that is now giving more importance to each and every one, by giving the newest outstanding media that surely will give the outmost future ahead of us. (Temmel)
