Detective Conan Anime Chemical Reactions What is anime?
Anime is a style of Japanese film and television animation, typically aimed at adults as well as children. It is basically an japanese cartoon.
Introduction Detective Conan is a anime about a 16 year old detective (considered to be the best detective of the world) , Shinichi Kudo, who went to an amusement park with is his childhood friend (his crush) Ran Mouri and became a little kid. Shinichi noticed some shady men dressed in black doing something suspicious. Of course, Ran wasn’t with him at the time. He was observing what was going on and one member of a secret organization hit him with a bat and gave him an untested experiment

According to the chemistry book chemical reactions are,”the changing of substances to other substances by the breaking of bonds in reactants and the formations of bonds in products.” In other words, it is how chemicals react when they are mixed.
How are chemical reactions used in detective work or in the show?
A detective's line of work is widely involved in the use of chemical reactions. Detectives use chemical reactions as an advantage to solve crimes (examples in research section). However, criminals also use chemical reactions to their advantage and do bad things (examples on research paper). Criminals can use chemical reactions to cause harm or to create alibis.

The first is by dipping a coin into a liquid (coffee in the tv show) that has been poisoned with potassium cyanide. The coin and the potassium cyanide react by cleaning the coin. For example,”An inquest was held and a chemist, of whom saltus was a regular customer, has the previous day bought 100 milligrams of Potassium Cyanide for cleaning some newly collected silver coins.” (Never Clean Your Coins You Might Die…) In the show the potassium cyanide with coffee did not clean the coin which meant that the poison was not in the drink but somewhere else. They knew it was cyanide because the smell of the deceased mouth smelled like almonds. This scientific data is correct because scientists have tested it and people actually clean coins with. The reactant is the cyanide and the product is the clean coin. It's actually sad because people have accidentally died by cleaning their coins with cyanide. The other chemical reaction in episode 219 is when you spray luminol on blood which make it purple. In Detective Conan, it is used to find blood stains that were their decades ago. It is also used in CSI to find blood stains. It is an important part of Detective work and is used to solve crimes. To support my argument, “Anyone who’s watched CSI or similar shows knows that, whenever the investigating team are on the scene of a gruesome and bloody murder, luminol solution gets sprayed liberally over absolutely
The primary goal of this laboratory project was to identify an unknown compound and determine its chemical and physical properties. First the appearance, odor, solubility, and conductivity of the compound were observed and measured so that they could be compared to those of known compounds. Then the cation present in the compound was identified using the flame test. The identity of the anion present in the compound was deduced through a series of chemical tests (Cooper, 2009).
Forensic Science Introduction: Someone in a restaurant has suddenly fallen ill and a mystery powder has been discovered with the victim. As the chief investigator, your duty is to identify the mystery substance through a lab. In this lab, it will consist of five known compounds and one unknown compound. Your job is to distinguish which one out of the five substances is the mystery powder. To figure out the mystery matter you will have to compare their physical and chemical properties and match them with the appropriate compound.
Around 1902, when luminol was first synthesized, scientists noticed that it exhibited a blue glow in the presence of other compounds. Later on, it was found that the luminol reaction occurred in the presence of blood. Its use in crime scenes was first implemented by German forensic scientist Walter Specht in 1937. When the luminol solution is sprayed, the iron present in hemoglobin in blood catalyzes the reaction to produce a blue glow. This is used because in certain situations, there may be too little blood present at a crime scene to be able to be seen. It can also help when a suspect had attempted to “clean up” the blood after committing the crime. In these cases, luminol can be used to see any evidence of blood that cannot be seen with the naked eye. The glow from the reaction only lasts for about thirty seconds and requires dark conditions to be able to see, but investigators are able to document it in
An elements¡¦ reaction to certain substances may be predicted by its placement on the Periodic Table of Elements. Across a period, an element on the left will react with more vigor than one on the right, of the same period. Vertically, as elements are sectioned into groups, the reaction of each element increases as you move down in the same group. With this in mind, the reactions of the substances involved in this experiment may be hypothesized, observed, and validated.
A chemical reaction is a process in which the rearrangement of the molecular or ionic structure of a substance is transformed physically or chemically. If the reaction occurs, the starting products will always be different from the products. They also involve the motion of electrons which leads to buildup and breakdown of chemical bonds. There are six types of chemical reactions including Synthesis, Decomposition, Single Replacement, Double Replacement, Combustion, and Acid Base. Each reaction has their own unique characteristics that make them special.
The experiment was conducted in three parts: Part A of the experiment consisted of extracting caffeine from an aqueous solution; Part B consisted of using three different compounds: benzoic acid, succinic acid, and sodium benzoate; and the last part of the experiment consisted of using a solid neutral compound with an acid or base impurity.
My hypothesis for the penny cleaning with the chemicals experiment was accepted. The hypothesis was; “If a penny is placed in salt and vinegar, then it will get cleaner than the other chemicals being used”. The data used from the experiment that supports the hypothesis was that the salt and vinegar chemical cleaned a penny the best it had a 90 out of 100.
Chemical kinetics is a branch of chemistry that involves reaction rates and the steps that follow in. It tells you how fast a reaction can happen and the steps it takes to make complete the reaction (2). An application of chemical kinetics in everyday life is the mechanics of popcorn. The rate it pops depends on how much water is in a kernel. The more water it has the quicker the steam heats up and causes a reaction- the popping of the kernel (3). Catalysts, temperature, and concentration can cause variations in kinetics (4).
This report discusses several different types of chemical reactions that were conducted in a lab. A chemical reaction is when two or more chemicals interact to form a new substance or rearrange the molecules within the substances. There are many signs that indicate when a chemical reaction has occurred. These changes include: a colour change, a gas being formed, a solid being formed, a change in temperature, precipitates are formed, a change in smell, light being emitted, a change in mass or volume, a change in conductivity, a change in boiling and/or melting point, and a change in taste. In the lab, thirteen different chemical reaction were conducted. Five of these reactions were single displacement reactions. A single displacement reaction is a reaction in which an element
When you mix baking soda and vinegar you get what’s called a chemical reaction. A chemical reaction is the process by which one or more substances change to produce one or more different substances (blue book). In this case, you would be mixing an acid and a base. The tw...
Rate of Reaction = Change in Concentration ------------------------------------------ Time Taken for Reaction A chemical reaction is the name given to a substance when it changes. and becomes a completely new substance. It is difficult to reverse.
In the field of Science, reactions are everywhere! Ice is a physical reaction, rust is a chemical reaction, and the Mentos and Soda experiment is a physical reaction (“Physical and Chemical”). Many may believe this reaction is chemical, but the substance does not change, so it is not. In the following paragraphs I will state three basic points. The first is how the reaction is caused.
Everyone has complex formulas, and chemicals that react in certain ways with each other. There are about five different chemicals in a firework that work together to make a shape, color, and explosion size. The purpose of this topic is to explain how fireworks relates to chemistry. How do fireworks relate to chemistry? A firework going off is just a big chemical reaction taking place.
Chemical kinetics is the study and examination of chemical reactions regarding re-arrangement of atoms, reaction rates, effect of various variables, and more. Chemical reaction rates, are the rates of change in amounts or concentrations of either products or reactants. Concentration of solutions, surface area, catalysts, temperature and the nature of reactants are all factors that can influence a rate of reaction. Increasing the concentration of a solution allows the rate of reaction to increase because highly concentrated solutions have more molecules and as a result the molecules collide faster. Surface area also affects a
Chemistry fascinates a vast majority of people, explosions, fun mixtures, dangerous chemicals, and one of the best, the ability to glow in the dark. Luminol is a common, widely used, chemiluminescent compound. It can glow in the dark with a bright blue light. Its ability to glow is activated with an oxidizing agent. Luminol was first discovered in the early twentieth century, but it was finally named in the 1930s. It contains three nitrogen atoms and two oxygen atoms. Luminol has over 100 other chemical names such as: 3-Aminophthalhydrazide and 3-Aminophthalic acid hydrazide. However, it is chemically known as as 5-Amino-2,3-dihydro-1,4-phthalazinedione. Luminol starts out as a white or sometimes slightly yellow crystallized and will only begin
