“ Don’t ever let love control actions or words, because when it’s all over with the actions or words could burn bridges someone may want to cross again someday “ The novel I am speaking of is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald in the novel Gatsby has been in love with Daisy since day one, when Gatsby leaves for the war Daisy marries Tom. Years down the road Gatsby is now wealthy and still loves Daisy, but she loves Tom although Tom is cheating on Daisy with Myrtle. Wilson Myrtles husband thinks Gatsby runs Myrtle over so Wilson shoots Gatsby. It was really Daisy who ran her over, Daisy was driving Gatsby’s car. This book shows that although love can be a beautiful art, sometimes it can be destructive. Destructive love is present in the novel when, Gatsby is going over sea and Daisy was planning on going to New York to say goodbye but her mother would not let her. She had married Tom the next autumn, the day before the wedding Daisy gets a letter from Gatsby and got drunk and wouldn’t let anyone see what the letter had to say.
