Designing a Computer System to Manage a Pizzeria
The pizza palace is an Italian restaurant that has been in business
for two years. It made a small profit last year, but things are not
looking good for this financial year. It is suffering from cash flow
problems, where money coming into the business each month (receipts0
is less then the money coming going out of the business each month.
The owner is particularly worried since a new Italian restaurant is
about to open nearby.
The owner needs to know how much cash is coming in and going out of
the business but has no experience in computer modeling and asks me to
help out.
I must produce a cash-flow for next six months and suggest ways to in
which cash flow can be improved.
The system that I am going to create will be used by Manager of Pizza
palace's restaurant. Because the system that he is using now is hard
to do and it's also time consuming.
The problem is, Pizza Palace owner doesn't know how to use this system
and he has to know how to use this system because he has to solve
those problems like, calculate the profit, tax, finance etc.

Many unique pizzerias exist in the New Orleans area, but one local chain of pizza restaurants separates itself from the others. Pizzerias such as Moe’s, Slice, and Naked Pizza are popular local pizza establishments, but they do not come close to the quality of Rotolo’s Pizzeria. Rotolo’s was first established in 1996 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and has franchises located throughout the South. I have eaten there numerous times with different people and every experience was wonderful and delicious. Rotolo’s Pizzeria is a local eatery that displays an exceptional atmosphere, quick and friendly service, and magnificent food.
Where and when did the fast food concept come into play? Consider the hamburger. While German immigrants brought the first "Hamburg Style Steak" to the United States in the early 19th century, the humble hamburger, "White Castle," became the basis for a new kind of restaurant in 1916 called "the fast food chain". J. Walter Anderson, who sold five-cent hamburgers with french-fries and colas, opened the oldest burger chain. Other restaurants followed and in 1948 brothers Richard and Maurice "Mac" McDonalds figured out a fresh approach that would produce fast food even faster. They eliminated waitresses and indoor tables from their hamburger stand, cut down on menus, streamlined food operations and lowered prices. Richard built the stand's giant golden arches, which emerged through the roof. In 1954 Ray Kroc, a milk shake machine salesman, paid the brothers a visit and was overwhelmed by the volume of business the McDonald's were serving up with bags of burgers and fries with factorylike efficiency. Kroc envisioned a string of establishments across the country. He made a deal with the McDonalds under which Kroc got the right to use their name and methods in franchising the concept. The brothers would get a bit more than a quarter of the 1.9% of the franchisees' gross to be collected by Kroc. The McDonald's concept spread like a brush fire and the rest is McHistory. Ray Kroc, who built the McDonald's Corporation, and his belief that there was equal beauty in the expanding restaurant business, definitely envisioned the future of the fast food industry most accurately.
