Erin Ashley Wronko stood from her seat on the school’s metal bleachers and walked over to Ms. Collins. After calling her teacher’s name for the third time the adult finally turned toward her.
“What is it?” the bottle blonde educator asked her.
“I have to go to the bathroom” Erin answered quickly.
With a distracted wave of the hand Ms. Collins sent the girl on away, not bothering to sign her a pass. “Yeah, go ahead.”
Erin attempted navigate her way to the stairs. In doing so she stepped on six feet and “accidently” elbowed a girl in the face, all while blocking as many student’s views on the ongoing football game as possible. When she finally did make it to the staircase, she took them two at a time, rushing to get away from the crowed

“What about you? How did you escape Drew and his nerd rally?”
Drew, Jack and a couple of their fellow nerds and geeks had decided to organize a competition of sorts for some video game or the other. Erin didn’t care enough to find out. The point was, Matt was supposed to be with them and he wasn’t. Obviously.
“I told them I felt like crap on a cracker. Drew looked like he didn’t believe a word I said and Jack said something about getting ass… And it’s not a ‘nerd rally’ it’s a World of Warcraft tournament.” The boy tried to look offended but ultimately failed. How could he be mad when his amazing girlfriend was sitting right there in front of him, not even an arm’s length away. Speaking of arms, Matt had since wrapped his around Erin’s middle and pulled her close so her back was leaning against his chest and his head rested on her shoulder.
“Still sounds like a geeky cult to me,” Erin said softy with her eyes closed. The shouts and wails of the crowd above them seemed to be muted when he was wrapped around her. It was one of the few times she could really relax and let go of her frustration and distrust.
Matt laughed against her neck and the blonde girl felt through her whole body. “The only cult I want to be a part of is the KKK but they keep rejecting my letters of

In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game”, there are two main characters, Sanger Rainsford and General Zaroff. The story starts off with Rainsford and Rainsford’s hunting partner, Whitney, on a yacht heading to Rio de Janiero to hunt big game animals. Rainsford ends up becoming trapped on Ship-Trap Island, and that is where he and the reader are introduced to General Zaroff. Unfortunately for Rainsford, General Zaroff is not your normal General. General Zaroff and Rainsford are similar and different in many ways, and even though Rainsford believes that Zaroff is a sick individual, at the end of the story he becomes more like Zaroff than he realizes.
After reading The “Most Dangerous Game” we, as a class, were asked whether or not it is considered correct to kill someone but, like a ballot, there were mixed results. This can branch out into a wide variety of topics ranging from abortion to downright murder. “Most Dangerous game” is a short story about a man named Rainsford who gets saved after a boat crash. The man who saved him, General Zaroff, is a hunter. A trait both share in common. However, Zaroff kills humans rather than animals in that the hunt is more thrilling. Of course, there is a disagreement on the subject matter to further the plot. Rainsford is completely opposed to the idea of killing his own kind. We also analyzed the film, “The Hunger Games”. Katniss Everdeen was forced into an arena where the only way to stay alive was to kill others. Both pieces of literature are a survival of the fittest test. Both had justifiable reasons for killing and it made reputable, however morbid, sense.
In “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, Zaroff is a hunter that lives on an island in the middle of nowhere. Zaroff demonstrates that he is rich, smart, and confident.
“He could stay where he was and wait. That was suicide. He could flee. That was postponing the inevitable.” (Narrator Pg.11). In The Most Dangerous Game by “Richard Connell,” we learn the suspenseful story of how Rainsford survived General Zaroff’s hunting game. He did this by thinking ahead. Humans can survive dangerous situations by reasoning about the future. This can be seen in plot, characterization, and setting.
Erin fights for respect and acceptance from a world, which tends to judge from appearance only. Ed accuses her of extortion when she attempts to get raises out of him every time he approves her doing another job with the PG&E case. She asks for increase in salary and at one-point event benefits. Ed ends up giving it to her maybe because he knows that she is on to something and it could end up being really big. However, sh...
Being able to overcome anything in life is a great feeling. There is a special feeling in the body and the mind when the body achieves a goal, and the mind gets a feeling of satisfaction. Since, the mind chooses to go against the body's will to quit, you have to be mentally strong. In Richard Connell's short story “The Most Dangerous Game,” large game hunter Sanger Rainsford is tested in the following ways: strong versus the weak, the value of life, and becoming what he fears. To begin with, Rainsford has to pose as the weak against the strong, General Zaroff.
In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game,” by Richard Connell, the setting is necessary for the plot to work. For example, there are rocks surrounding the island. The huge boulders keep people off of the island and trap General Zaroff’s prey on the island. Rainsford sees that, “jagged crags appeared to jut up into the opaqueness” (p.3). As Rainsford swims towards the rocks, after he fell overboard, he can see himself on the boulders before he can even get to them. He is anxious to get to land, not knowing what is in the near future. The boulders usually keep intruders out, but Rainsford is one persistent man. If someone sees the island with boulders surrounding it, they will not want to want to climb them to reach the island. Another
In “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, the narrator specifies the conflict in a variety of ways. For example when Rainsford was running away from General Zaroff and he ran into a problem which was the quicksand. Also when Rainsford was being hunted he remembered a few traps that he used on animals that he would try on Zaroff. Lastly Rainsford was hiding from Zaroff but he was really frightened because he did not want to die. Therefore being hunted is not a good thing because other than dying you can get severely hurt.
In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, one major theme that is expressed throughout is the theme that animals have instincts, while humans have reasoning. Rainsford and his close friend, Whitney, hunt animals for sport. At one point, they argue with each other about whether or not animals have emotions. Rainsford does not agree with Whitey and believes that animals don’t have fear or feelings and are meant to be hunted. Whitney says with confidence in her voice, “‘Even so, I rather think they understand one thing--fear. The fear of pain and the fear of death. Nonsense,” laughed Rainsford”’ (Connell 1). Although Whitney and Rainsford hunt animals for entertainment, they both have different opinions on how animals react
I slowly tread toward the field. The dewey grass made my cleats slightly damp. I donned my glove to prepare for the game with my team. Excited, I sprinted out on the field.
Senior year; I’m at Cesar Chavez and I have 6 months left of high school. Had my favorite outfit on, tight black jeans, tank top with a red and black stripped t-shirt like cardigan over top. I had a good paying job, my own car, honor student with straight A’s things were great. Jonstens was there during lunch to take our papers for our caps and gowns. Just turned my papers in for that and was headed to sit down with my friends, a few minutes later I head to the bathroom. Everyone knows the bathrooms by the bleachers you can get away with just about anything over there.
Bonnie the secretary introduced me to my new teacher. As Mrs. Bonnie was leaving the room, my new teacher Mrs. Evaheart introduced me to the class. As I stared at the class I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed. I wanted to go back to my old school where I had friends, knew almost everyone, a place where I didn’t feel lonesome, a place anywhere but here. As I saw each and every one of my new classmates faces the utter dread that I felt slowly began to fade as I saw a familiar face. Seeing one of my former friends give me a renewed hope that maybe being in this school won’t be so bad after
