Whenever a child is born, there is always a grandmother. There are the ones we should respect the most, as they for sure have tasted more salt than the amount of rice you have eaten. As many as the twelve horoscopes there for you to match your personality to the star sign you belong to, there are also different kinds of grandmothers you will find in Singapore. The “show-off” grandmother is always singing praises of her grandchildren. Whenever she is out with her friends, or have visitors in her house, she can be heard talking about her grandchildren. An optional extra ability she may have is super-sonic ears. Whenever her grandchildren complain about being hungry, she will be the first to rush to their rescue. First, she will check if there are any groceries in the refridgerator. If there is nothing available to cook with, she will then rush off to the supermarket like Flash. After carefully selecting the ingredients that she has decided to prepare the food with, she will return to the house kitchen, cutting up the ingredients with her precise knifing skill. Moments later, she will emerge from the kitchen with the dishes she has whipped up, ending off with a triumphant look on her face and both hands on her hips. On the other hand, parents will be viewed as villians and the grandchildren will only try to seek help from the domestic goddess in the absence of their parents. This is due to the parents’ disapproving looks which will deter their children from seeking help from their grandmother; the grandchilren will feel guilty as they know their parents do not like it.
