As my car turns into the parking lot, I can smell the crisp seawater air.I have finally arrived at the Wildwood Boardwalk. When a person steps onto the boardwalk, they see millions of colors zipping around.Carnival games are at the front of the boardwalk. My favorite carnival game is the watergun game.Once I beat all of the other contestants at the game stand, and won a huge plush Spongebob. While playing the carnival games,I can smelll food coming from a couple of feet away. The sweet and salty scent of popcorn, zeppolis, and ice cream, balances perfectly with the freshness of the seawater.Boardwalk food is greasy and delicious. If I walk farther down the boardwalk,I can see the mall.Boardwalk malls are different than normal malls. At these malls you
can get your hair braided, dyed, and you can add feathers to the style.Out of everything on the boardwalk, my favorite activity is to ride the ferris wheel. The wheel is huge and rainbow colored. At night time the lights turn neon.On some nights, the technicians make the lights into the shape of a smiley face. When I see Wildwood at night time, there is a stark contrast between the beach and the boardwalk. The boardwalk is bright and loud, the beach is empty and filled by the sound of waves slapping against the shore.Through the years, the boardwalk has made me happy.I hope that it will continue to be a place that fills all people with excitement and fun.
On the Waterfront is a classic, award-winning and controversial film. It received eight academy-awards in 1954, including best-picture and director. The director, Eliza Kazan, in collaboration with Budd Schulberg wrote the film’s screenplay. Based on actual dockside events in Hoboken, New Jersey, On the Waterfront is a story of a dock worker who tried to overthrow a corrupt union.
In February of 2010, a woman named Dawn Brancheau died while working as an animal trainer at SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida. There has been a large amount of debate about the circumstances surrounding her death—some say she slipped and fell, while others say that she was dragged in by one of the orcas, Tilikum. The controversy over her tragic death brought this question to the surface: should parks like SeaWorld be closed down for safety reasons? While this argument has been going on for a long time, the death of Brancheau spurred a wave of debates about whether the park should be allowed to remain open. On one side, people believe the parks should be shut down and the animals should be released from captivity in an effort to protect the animals and the humans. On the other side of the argument, people believe the parks should be kept open because of the benefits they offer to the world in education and conservation. In light of SeaWorld’s recent transitions, I believe the park should remain open to the public.
It was the summer of 2000 and I had moved in with my sister Jana in Santa
When I first arrived at the boardwalk, the smell of fresh pretzels and the salty sea were the first things that I noticed. Right in front me were children running around with excitement and their parents following behind
In our campaign we will be talking about our attractions and various reasons for people to come to Coney Island and enjoy our attractions. People came to Coney Island basically because of all the fun main attractions. “You might be able to have fun at home but its guaranteed that you will enjoy more in here”.
Naples, not the most exciting place on the planet. No, people have seemed to conclude that Naples, FL is the place to go for a nice, relaxing retirement. And I have to agree, they are right. Naples is a place filled with tee times on golf courses, lunches at country clubs, longs walks along the beach and a casual stroll on the downtown sidewalks, sipping on a frappacino, all accompanied by sunny, cloudless days.
An Analysis of Dover Beach Dover Beach intrigued me as soon as I read the title. I have a great love of beaches, so I feel a connection with the speaker as he or she stands on the cliffs of Dover, looking out at the sea and reflecting on life. Arnold successfully captures the mystical beauty of the ocean as it echoes human existence and the struggles of life. The moods of the speaker throughout the poem change dramatically, as do the moods of the sea. The irregular, undesirable rhyme is representative of these inharmonious moods and struggles.
Ocean City offers a wide variety of dining choices. My favorite restaurant is the Marina Deck located at 306 Dorchester Street. Try their cream of crab soup for a taste of true Maryland cuisine, or select from any of their seafood dishes, everything is very good. As with any restaurant, house specialties are always the best so don't go to a seafood restaurant expecting great ribs. Marina Deck is a must visit while in Ocean City.
As we turn onto the cracked cement that is Oceanside Drive, my mood immediately lifts. Houses stand aligned like train cars, facing the frigid Atlantic. Closer to the end of the street is an evergreen cottage where our wheels halt in front of. The second my feet touch the ground that familiar, classic, salty air tells me I’m home. The wooden steps creek under me as I race up them to the door. This house holds so many memories of roaring laughter, crowded couches, and delicious food. Even inside I can hear the steady crashing blows from our closest neighbor: the ocean. One short sprint down the splinting boardwalk and I’m where I love to be most. The fine grains of sand slide through my fingers while the teal ocean, where my siblings and I have
"BOOM", went the thundering sky as sirens wailed through the night. Static voices rumbled through the televisions, telling everyone about the tornado warning. The treacherous waves thrashed recklessly against the shoreline, sweeping the sand, pebbles, and shells further into the tide. Trees thudded as they fell to the ground. Tornado's were not common in Michigan, there hadn't been one in fifty years. But now, a tornado was wrecking the small town of Fernvillle, and the small union might never recover from this monstrous event.
As I walked down the sidewalk, my nose picked up the salty scent of the sea breeze. I looked ahead and saw the gleaming beach in the far distance. Before me, the tranquil city along with the endless blue sea sandwiched the golden beach that stretched across for miles. Then my eyes were grasped by the incredible beauty of the city skyscrapers that stood hundreds of meters tall, and they probably had also captured the sight of many other tourists. Some people were jogging and others were bike riding Just as the yellow sun rises from behind the buildings. It’s easy for many people t...
Imagine walking along the shore, feeling the light breeze on your face, smelling the saltiness of the ocean and leaving your foot prints behind in the powdery white sand. The sun is rising behind you and you can’t wait to see what the rest of the day has in store for you. It feels so unreal, almost like you’re in a dream. You are walking on the sands of one of the most famous beaches. The Waikiki beach isn’t just your ordinary beach, located in Oahu, Hawaii; this beach has everything to keep you entertained for your trip.
Many students were highly anticipating the opening of CSI’s Dolphin Cove. I was too busy trying to lift my heavy boxes. A curly hair, nicely built RA offered to help. I wanted to move it the way I wanted it move. I was paranoid they would break something or place it to the wrong apartment. Even though I protested, the RA ignored me. He was already at the entrance with my box of dishes. I paced as quickly as I could. I can hear the dishes shift. We slip through the crowd to the second floor. I can barely squeeze through the hall with everyone boxes and bags of shit lying around. The RA disappeared as I looked into my room. My first roommate, Savannah already settled in. She introduced me to her family and boyfriend. I did not wait for my other two roommates, I wondered off to meet up with James. He was on the line to obtain his keys. We did not have to lift a finger. I asked if he worries, that something will break or go missing. He playfully pushes me. “Relax.” He smiled.
Many Caribbean country coastlines are facing rampant coastal erosion. Coastal erosion and accretion has continuously existed and contributed to shaping the present coastlines. Coastal erosion is now largely intensified due to human activities, although engineering structures are aimed at solving erosion problems, it has long been known that these projects can also contribute to creating problems at other nearby locations. Dramatic examples of side effects are presented by Darsan and Alexis (2014), who state that about 20,000 square metres of sand have been removed from the beaches of Trinidad and Tobago by engineering works during 1994 and 2007. Trinidad and Tobago has the highest level of coastal erosion in the Caribbean, with the country losing more than 50,000 square meters of land in less than 20 years.
As I sit down in the gazebo, the wind blowing through my hair and making my arm hair lift up in goosebumps, I realized that this is the place I will call my home. The gazebo beauty speaks to me for I have a mark in my soul and body that I will never forget, and this feeling reminds me of a feeling I get when I am in church and speaking to God too. The gazebo has the Holy Spirit within her and she calls on chants to me, to comfort them, to love them and make sure they I am connected to God. The gazebo is a shelter to me when I lose myself. I am lost both spiritually and mentally, for I have been doing things that I shouldn’t be doing because I had a mindset of fulfilling my dreams of becoming a lawyer for criminal cases. For the gazebo calls me to her as if she were a mermaid who sings and lures her prey.
