Barack Obama Being the first African American President of the United States is one of the many reasons why Barack Obama is loved so much by society as well as by history. He is known to be a novel, determined, hardworking, and successful man, which has been proven with his actions throughout his life. Barack Hussein Obama II, the 44th president of the USA, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 4th, 1961. Growing up in a home of a broken marriage lead to his mother remarrying when he was only two; which eventually caused his family to move to Jakarta, Indonesia later on in 1966. In 1983, he graduated from Columbia University in New York. After graduating, he moved to Chicago and had a few different jobs including one that involved what he does best, helping the ones in need. He did so by becoming a community organizer for low income residents on the south side with the Developing Communities Project in Chicago, Illinois. This was a good way in which he could study power; ways to earn it and how to use it correctly with his novel intentions. Obama has never been known to ever settle for anything less than what he can accomplish, which is why he soon after decided he wanted to become a lawyer and applied to Harvard Law School, which admitted him in 1988. The following summer, during an internship in the Chicago Law Firm, he met Michelle Robinson, who at the time was his mentor.
