It was the spring of 2007, I was so happy to see the flowers in the front yard were ready to bloom after a long winter we had. This upcoming week, my family was taken on a roller coaster ride of emotions that they were not expecting, so quickly. I remember it was morning of my Conformation (one of the seven sacraments in the Catholic religion.) And everyone was running around the house to make sure the house was clean before the family had arrived for the party after the mass. While inside, my hair was being curler to my mom making sure my white and blue polka dotted dress was wrinkle free, it was a nut house. Once dressed, my mom had finished my look by adding a few touches of makeup onto my face. I remember thinking about idea of angels and how do we know that they are okay where ever they are after they die. I remember she was quiet for a few minutes but quickly turned around to look in her makeup bag to get her favorite nude lipstick and begin to shed a few tears. At first, I thought she was upset that I had brought the questions, but she was actually happy that I had brought up with this question. (She was thinking about her sister and dad) What I can recall, I remember her telling me about this poem if I “find” a penny on the ground with its faced up, that was a sign that are loved loves okay where every go after they pass away and they are always with us. …show more content…
Mass was over. Laura and I had ran all the way from the mass to her car that was parked in the parking lot behind the church so we would be able to drive back home to beat the track and reconnect with the rest of the family to
In the book Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes, A 32 year old mentally disabled man, Charlie, gets offered to do a study in which he may get smarter. Charlie is excited to do it but permission was needed so they asked his Mother and she agreed. “I had more crazy tests today in case they use me”(Keyes 4). He starts doing progress reports to keep track of any changes that may happen during the project. His co workers take advantage of him and make fun of him but Charlie does not know and understand that yet because he’s mentally disabled. “Joe Carp
Honeybees collect nectar and pollen from flowers as food source. The nutrients needed to grow colony populations and maintain their health comes from nectar and pollen. Nectar which is then converted in to honey, provides carbohydrates. Pollen as bee-bread supplies dietary requirements such as proteins, lipids, vitamins and minerals (Huang 2010; Degrandi-Hoffman 2013). A review by Wakhle (1981) reported the versatile characters of pollen and bees products. The royal-jelly produced by honeybees for queen raring, for which pollen is most important, which is rich in most essential nutrients.
It was the Monday before Thanksgiving. I was out of work at the time so I got up around nine o’clock. I wasn’t feeling well, like I had eaten something that just was not agreeing with me. So I rolled out of bed and went downstairs. My girlfriend and her mom were at the kitchen table working on decorations for the party they were hosting for the holiday.
I remember one time in fourth grade, there were going to be a special performance in school for the mothers, due to mother’s Day celebration. The teacher asked all us students to write something for our mother’s it could be a letter or a poem. I was so excited because I want it to do something special for my mom. I started to write this poem for my mom in which I expressed all my love to her. When I finished with it I gave it to my teacher. She loved it she was very happy with it that I was one of the students chosen to present the poem to my mom during the school performance. I was very nervous during the pre...
Two of the greatest days of my life were the days my daughters were born. The first time I held the both of them and gazed into their eyes I felt a sense of relief and hope. The feeling is a warm tingling sensation that engulfed my entire body. The emotions that I felt are beyond what words can explain. It’s amazing to me that in the first few minutes of their lives they completely changed my perception of the world.
I’d just gotten off the bus from school and was in a good mood, excited even because I had a field trip the next day. As soon as I walked in the door I was whisked away to run errands with my mom and it was just like any other day. Then she got a phone call in the car. It wasn’t unusual but this time when we pulled into a store’s parking lot she got out and asked me to wait. So I sat back and waited while she walked a little ways away to talk. When she came back to get me she was quiet and when we walked through the store and I begged her for all the usual toys and snacks she didn’t say no, she just put them in our basket and moved on. I didn’t notice that then, only when I relived the day later on did I realize all she’d done. When we finally got home she brought me and my sister up to her bedroom together and broke the news.
Elisa's character in, The Chrysanthemums by John Steinbeck on pg. 281, is described as strong and dry woman with a green thumb who works fervently in her garden, taking special care of her prized chrysanthemums. She is the wife of a farmer and plays her role very well. They live in a nice home and apparently are doing well financially. She seems to be everything you'd expect a wife to be.
The first time I had truly felt at peace in months and could leave everything behind and just be present in the
The day that changed my life. It was 7am that morning I woke up and got my black dress on with white lace at the top. I waited for my dad and brother to get ready as I waited I sat and thought to myself “how am I going to get through this today?” I never did find an answer to that question and I probably never will. I walked into the funeral home that morning, and with my family we entered the room this was the very last time I will ever get to see my grandma. She laid there as I stood there looking at her, granddaughter to grandma. She looked completely like herself mostly other than the makeup which wasn’t her at all. My grandma was apostolic which if you knew my grandma you would know she never wore make up. Not in her entire life all 94 years of it. But it was kind of relieving to see her look so peaceful she looked like herself in her handmade rose colored blouse and
Saturday night was my high school graduation and my party was Sunday afternoon. That whole weekend my family was coming in to town to watch me walk across the stage. This made me feel happy and amazing. When I got my diploma I was so excited. It felt great to have a great achievement already finished. As my family came and supported me at my graduation was awesome, I felt really proud of myself for what I have accomplished. When Sunday came around I went to church that morning. When I came home we got ready for my party to show off my accomplishments, that I got through high school. As everyone came and left at their time. It felt great to have a weekend devoted to me. Once it was over I went through the gifts and cards that I got. Out of all the great gifts that I got there was only one that made a great impact on me.
My dad and I went to Pie Five for dinner. We were enjoying delicious, fresh cooked pizza when my dad received a phone call. Someone had put an offer on our house that was just the amount we wanted. We had sold our house. We then had a month to pack everything up so that we could move. We were all very excited and anxious to move into our new house.

During the summer going into tenth grade, my life changed drastically which helped shape me into the person I am today. On June 14, 2014, I lost my mom. Her death was an apparent overdose of narcotics. In my mind, things like that only happened
People have defined the life as their own perception. Some people think that life is like a flower and but few people compare with a thorn. Either it is flower or thorn depends on what we feel about our life. The famous writer Jhamak Kumari Ghimire who has born with cerebral palsy believes that life is a flower. She can’t talk, can’t walk and she is disable physically but writes with the help of her foot. She has defined her life with flower even she encountered with many thorns on her way. We can’t even imagine how tough the life she had spent in her early age. Many of her relatives and her neighbors had suggested her parents to kill and throw away in the river because they thought that she would be burden to her
