I love Christmas Eve. Christmas is probably the time of the year where I’m the happiest. The best Christmas Eve I have ever spent was with my family and some friends in the winter of 2014. It was the greatest simply due to the factor that I spent it with the boy I was in love with at that time. The only photograph that was captured that night of us was taken right before all the festivities started. We were setting up the music for that night and we took a few seconds to snap a picture on the laptop webcam before joining the party. The picture highlighted my happiness and the joyful feelings I had that night. In this snapshot it was close to our two year anniversary. The look on my face is blissful, content, in love – a look I always had when I was around him. I knew that he cared for me as much as I cared for him. There was such adoration, such gleefulness in the way I gazed at the camera. I felt that there was nothing that could tear our closeness that created our bond. The bond we had made me feel supported, cared for, and trusted. This snapshot was taken a week before he confessed to me something that he had kept inside …show more content…
We all need a shoulder to cry on every once in a while. Bullying is happening in schools all across America and teens need to start helping those who need it the most. We need to start taking action and stop being petrified to fight for what we contemplate is right. Nonetheless, I admit that maybe before I lived these instants of bullying with my friend that I would have been fossilized at a time that I needed to take action. It is daunting to stand up to an aggressor that is intimidating. The fear of being a victim yourself can overpower your desire to step in and help. We are prone to protect ourselves and then protect others, but our self comes first. But on the other hand, if one person steps up, the upshot will be that others will follow and the bullying chain will
Know this song...Dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh? Well it was written by organist James Lord Piermont for a Thanksgiving program at a school church in Savannah, Georgia. O’re the things we go laughing all the way. Jingle Bells which is the name of this song, is one the most popular Christmas carol in the world. This song was first released in 1857 and published with the name One horse open sleigh. Jingle Bells was often used as a drinking song in Christmas parties, people used to jingle their cups with ice and sing along.
Even though you can 't talk about the Christmas movie you 're doing, it 's great that you 're doing one.
Although it was never celebrated in biblical times, Christmas is celebrated in local churches here in Visalia, California in praise of the fact that God loved us so much; he sent his one and only son to earth. He was wholey god and wholey man. Whereas we have succumbed to the temptations of this earth, Jesus was able to overcome all temptations and live a sinless life. He was then crucified as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. One cannot understand why we celebrate the birth of Christ without seeing the other end of his life. He was crucified for our sins and resurrected.
As a society, we often underestimate the damages that bullying cause on children, not just America but all over, and the ones who suffer are the victims themselves. Victims are damaged with the stigma that they are weak, yet somehow have to fend for themselves against something that they have little to no control over. Whether it is for funding, a reputation or any other reason schools sweep their bullying problem under the rug or turn a blind eye, however they have more potential to end this growing issue. To the schools that think bullying is not their problem, they should know that according to heyugly.org, an anti-bullying campaign, “Approximately, 160,000 children a day stay home from school in fear of being bullied.”They also point out
In "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, Ebenezer Scrooge undergoes a transformation as a result of his encounters with three ghosts and becomes a kind, happy, and generous man. His greedy, cruel, and grumpy demeanor is replaced seemingly overnight, but he doesn’t just wake up and decide to be nice. It takes three Spirits to change his outlook on life - The Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present, and Future. The Ghost of Christmas Past makes Scrooge begin to regret his selfishness, and the Ghost of Christmas Present begins to teach him about others. This second Ghost helps to make him realize that money doesn't buy happiness. The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, however, teaches the most profound lesson of all: unless he changes, no one will care if Scrooge dies. Because of the Ghosts, by Christmas morning Ebenezer Scrooge is a completely different person from the man who went to bed on Christmas Eve.

It was three weeks before Christmas when my little sister Emily barged into my room. I was busy preparing gifts for the holidays and also was listening to music. I took an earbud out to listen to what she had to say, but I still was not facing her. She then asked if Santa was real. In my busy state of mind, I nonchalantly said yes and urged her out of my room so I could finish what I was doing. At the time, I did not think much about my response.
Christmas is a holiday celebrated by many nations and religions around the world. The spirit of Christmas causes people to come together. It is one of the most favorite times of the year involving gift giving and merry making. To celebrate Christmas people decorate their homes, churches, and other buildings in which fellowship may take place. They may do this with ribbon, holly, mistletoe, and decking them with silver and gold. But where did all these traditions originate? Now, many believe that Christmas is the celebration of Jesus's birth. The truth is that all of these customs from Christmas pre-date our Lord's birth entirely! Christmas today is just a collection of traditions put together to make the holiday we celebrate every year on December
Frosty the Snowman waves hello alongside Santa 's reindeer that are ready to take off. Candy canes line the sidewalk and the ginger bread dolls dance in a merry circle. The trees all sparkle with thousands of red, yellow, purple, blue, and orange lights. Out back, Mary and Joseph stand over baby Jesus, Choo-Choo train’s chug in spot, stars twinkle with bright yellow bulbs, and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause wave in the distance. Kerkhoven, MN, the location of the happiest house on the block. Every year my breath is always taken away as my eyes struggle to soak in the utter abundance of Christmas spirit. I 'm smiling and we 're not even inside yet.
The joy in the air, the cold weather, and the overall feeling of contentment shared by everyone, all of these come with christmas. Everyone loves christmas, you get to go shopping buying gifts for all your family and friends, and on christmas morning, you get tons of gifts yourself. However over the years, christmas has become more of a commercial holiday then anything else. Stores view it as a way to make me money, and many people view gift giving as attempting to “outgive” everyone else. This is sad as it detracts away from what christmas is really about, and that is the birth of our saviour Jesus Christ.
It's that time of year again. December has come and with it all the joys of Christmas. But what is the real meaning of Christmas? Is it the gifts under the tree, the lights in the windows, the cards in the mail, turkey dinners with family and friends, snow in the yard, stockings hanging in the living room, and shouts of "Merry Christmas" to those who pass us in the streets? Is this really Christmas?
As I look out my window I see tiny snowflakes slowly drifting down. I can hear the roar of laughter coming from the living room downstairs. Soon enough Saint Nick will be upon us. Christmas always brings everyone home for the holidays. Christmas is my favorite holiday because of the traditions my families and I celebrate that include our Christmas Eve routine, Christmas morning routine, and giving back to our community.
For most people Christmas Eve is celebrated as a pre-Christmas type of thing. For my family and me, we always go to my dad’s side Christmas Eve, and my mom’s side Christmas day. On the evening of Christmas Eve we take a few presents and food over to my grandpa’s house. We eat and talk, just enjoy everyone’s fellowship. After we get done eating, we open presents. When I was younger and my grandma was still alive we had a ton of presents. She made sure each Christmas was the best one yet. After she died, it was a huge change. We went from getting everything, to getting fifty dollars cash to get anything we wanted. That was okay, just wasn’t what we were used to at all. My mom told us every year after Grandma passed away, that things were harder for my grandpa so to ease his mind we just got cash. I would give all the cash in the world back, to have one more second with my
My most memorable Christmas is one from my past. I was about six years old. I clearly remember sitting in class on the last day of school before Christmas vacation anticipating the bell to ring and signify that the classes were finally over. As the bell rang, I ran out of that class, and once I got home I was ready in an instant to leave for my grandmother’s where I would spend my holidays. It was a two hour drive to my grandmother’s house. I was very impatient throughout the entire drive. I couldn’t wait to see my grandma, my cousin, and my aunts. To make things better, however, snow started to fall filling me with hopes of a snowball fight the next day.
The way Filipinos celebrate Christmas is different from how other countries would celebrate it. Being a Catholic country, Christmas is considered as the most important holiday for us Filipinos. We always put much effort in following traditions like Noche Buena, Caroling, and Simbang Gabi. Although most Filipinos see it positively, I believe that Christmas in the Philippines has molded us Filipinos to be materialistic.
