Museums are something I’ve always find to be very thought-provoking. A place where people can express the things they feel in various ways. These different forms of art include things such as sculptures, paintings, photography, animations and so on. Everyone should take advantage of them whenever there is one available, and so, that’s exactly what I did. I was very privilege to even have one literally 20 minutes from me, plus it was an erotic museum at that. I took advantage of it while I could and I will even mention it to some of my friends and family so they too can experience these remarkable arts. It was a perfume box that had two crystal perfume bottles in it and it made me wonder if the bottles contain liquids that triggered a sense of sexual behavior in couples or made them more appealing to each other. However, there was a picture in the box that was linked to something I read in class about “kama sutra.” The ancient Hindus of India are well-known for showing pictures or sculptures of ordinary people and gods in a sexual manner. That picture in the box is associated with the manual “kama sutra” which was written by Hindu sage Vatsyayana. These pictures represented a religious duty that Hindu’s followed through with; they were pictures of all different types of sexual positions and practices. Likewise, there was another piece that caught my attention and I find it to be very interesting. It was the kama sutra bed that was engraved with various poses of sexual performance by ordinary people. The facility was smaller than expected by many on the tour group. However, the tour guide had a very nice explanation to each of the artworks. By visiting the museum to gain the aesthetic experience it has open many people point of views to how they can express his or her self through art.
My first experience at the museum was a good one. I had so much fun even after we were done with the Norton-Simon. Being a business major, I did not know that art could speak to me as it did. It has not influenced me so much as to change my major, but it did open my eyes to a whole new world. Now when I look at art, I do not just see a pretty picture, but what the artist is actually trying to say.
In every museum, each exhibition represents a series of decisions that some individual or group undertook to compile a series of artifacts together in a display. Often times people fail to recognize the amount of time and several steps one took in order to assemble each arrangement. The trip to the metropolitan museum was a great trip to learn and to study art. What is art you may ask, well art is an expression you use to show a visual picture. It can be through painting or through sculptures. Some other example of art is music, literature and dancing. For today 's paper we will be talking about art as a sculpture. The two sculptures in this photo are King Sahure and a Nome God and Marble Statue of Dionysos leaning on archaistic female figure (Hope Dionysos). You can find these statues in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. King Sahure and a Nome God is an Egyptian art that was made in 2458-2446 BCE. The artist is unknown. It was during the 5th dynasty and it also belong to the old kingdom. The Marble statue of Dionysos Leaning in the archaistic female figure is a Greco-Roman art. Belonging to the Roman imperial period of the late first century A.D. Augustan or Julio-Claudian period 27 B.C., to 68 AD. It is classified as a stone sculpture and it is made out of marble. The height of the statues is 82 ¾ inches. There is no evidence who was the original artist.
For the first cultural event, I decided to visit the Orlando Museum of Art. Personally, I had never been to an art museum until now so I wasn’t sure what the art would like. I never had an interest to go to an art museum or an interest for art in general because it is very uninteresting in my opinion. I felt like I didn’t belong in the art world. I felt like art was meant for intelligent individuals who understood complex art and the intentions behind a piece of art. Even if I tried to understand art, I was always very critical of it because I never understood what makes art “art” and why it is so important to others. By touring the Orlando Museum of Art, I was hoping to gain a deeper appreciation and understanding for art.
The metropolitan museum is the largest art museum in the United States, and one of the largest in the world. Upon going to the museum I found myself wondering how I can choose three artifacts out of nearly a million different relics. After spending countless hours roaming the three story museum and looking at the vast amount of artifacts I found myself overwhelmed with inspiration to write this analysis. The only dilemma was how one can narrow down the selection to three relics out of hundreds of thousands. After sometime I picked the three relics that I found interesting, spiritual, and showed a significance in modern and ancient history. The three relicts I will discuss in this essay are the following; Family Tree, Emperor’s Twelve-Symbol Robe, and lastly Mans Shirt, these three artifacts show in my opinion how god, the spirit and the universe all reflect upon the individual wearing the clothing/stories painted upon the person.
Naples is a very unique city that attracts people from all over the world to its beautiful surroundings. Amongst the pristine beaches and championship golf courses, a teenager can find many entertaining locations. One such area can be found in downtown Naples on Fifth Avenue. Along this stretch of road near the beach lies a vast array of shops, cafes, restaurants, and other establishments. I often find myself spending many nights on Fifth Avenue, walking along the tree-lined streets or sitting in one of the numerous cafés or restaurants.
In traditional museums all the displays are behind glass and you are not allowed to touch anything. The items on display are often animals or artefacts are from very far away or have been donated by a wealthy collector. The displays are not changed very often. In more modern museums the displays are not only insect and animal from far away.
A museum gives us insight on the culture from an out standing point of view, and the things we are shown are supposed to be looked at from the outside. The people who decided what things to exhibit did not belong to that community saw it, and decided what they considered is different to what we are used to, and what we would be interested in learning from that. The display of things in a Museum are things that we look at as something that is outside from normal. In contrast to the movie or movies, where scenes substantially show how the person felt and dealt with situations and tools from their own perspective, with their own knowledge and experience and through different means such as real images, sounds, language and others produces a different knowledge on the racial discourse. What is Museum Education? Museum Education is about educating the public about History, Science, Math, or English etc., but in an informal setting (not in a classroom or school). Museum Education is about immersing the students in the topic at hand. For example, a walking tour guide in downtown Frederick, MD places their tour group literally in front of the history they are teaching them. Similarly, a museum education intern reads the students a book like the Ox Cart Man then places them in a market that will teach them too how to trade and barter. Although, a museum educator does not get to be in the classroom with the students, like a general education teacher, they teach students meaningful lessons that they often remember. Lauren Allen

When first arriving at the museum it was an old styled, rustic, building that was not very modern, which I think fits into the theme of the museum. The outside of the building had history, similar to how the inside of museum is filled with a history. There was also an impressive statue of former president Theodore Roosevelt. I thought it was an interesting display, but Theodore Roosevelt was an advocate for the preservation of national parks and the conservation of animals, moreover, I thought it was a great tribute to him. I think the outside of the museum shows how rich the history of the world is and there is so much to learn. The past has been polished for the people of the present to understand and admire. Overall, I felt every exhibit was easy to understand and not intimidating; subsequently, it was easy for children and adults to look at.
I think we all have a beautiful place in our mind. I have a wonderful place that made me happy a lot of times, years ago. But sometimes I think that I am the only person who likes this place and I'm asking myself if this place will be as beautiful as I thought when I will go back to visit it again. Perhaps I made it beautiful in my mind.
