“ Everyone hold onto your seats this is going to be a hell of a ride” (Akeem). I flew to Boston, MA with a group of my classmates from Maumelle High last year to tour the beautiful city, go to the Boston Red Sox parade, and to watch the Boston Celtics go against the Milwaukee Bucks at the TD Garden Arena. Although, tourist attractions in Boston are ravishing, they're well-known for building the first subway in America.
My classmates and I jumped off that plane rushing to find a cab to take us to the Sheraton Boston Hotel to drop off all our belongings. Finally, we got settled and ready to roam the pristine streets of Boston. I went the Quincy Market to hang out and buy souvenirs. Diversity plays extensive part around Boston when meeting other people outside your nationality. I ate at Legal Harbor-side; their seafood is very fresh because it comes straight off the docks. I highly recommended the calamari it's so mouth-watering. While walking downtown, I saw chickens caged up in a farmer's market, it puts you in the mind of Chinatown.

My classmates and I had to take the subway, it was really crowded, my face was literally glued to the window. The subway roared with cheering fans, it shook the whole train station. The train finally made it to our destination, everyone scattered out subway like cockroaches. The TD garden stadium, arena was stunning. This has been my first time ever viewing Boston Celtics vs. Milwaukee Bucks live instead of watching it in my family room. The seats of TD Garden's stadium rumbled with faith to encourage the Celtics. I met Rajon Rondo on the sideline, he was injured, so he unable to participate in the game. He had a great sense of humor and great sportsmanship. Even though the Boston Celtics lost the game, it was awesome an experience for my classmates and I. The next morning, it was time for us to fly back home to
Eating has been one a great joy to me my entire life. It is a huge portion of everyone’s day, and for most, happens at least three times a day. If we eat three meals a day every day for a year that is one thousand and ninety five meals! With all these meals we need a nice place to sit down and enjoy it. Whenever I get hungry, I always find myself at Chick-fil-a; well, at least five times a week. The familiar sights, comforting scents, and soothing sounds of Chick-fil-A that make it the birthplace of happiness.
The Patriots won the Super Bowl! Though I do not follow the sport of Football as much as fellow Bostonians do, the excitement is still there. The parade was great to go to, even though getting there was quite an adventure to say the least. What a turn out also to see the parade, with the weather as it was and the predictions of snow turning into rain to be true. With that, Boston seems to not be able to make up its mind with what season it wants to stick with, and a year prior there already was much more snow. Other than that, there is not much more going
Naples is a very unique city that attracts people from all over the world to its beautiful surroundings. Amongst the pristine beaches and championship golf courses, a teenager can find many entertaining locations. One such area can be found in downtown Naples on Fifth Avenue. Along this stretch of road near the beach lies a vast array of shops, cafes, restaurants, and other establishments. I often find myself spending many nights on Fifth Avenue, walking along the tree-lined streets or sitting in one of the numerous cafés or restaurants.
Culture lovers will enjoy the citys beautiful theaters and concert halls. The public library houses a museum in addition to an enormous book collection. For sports enthusiasts, Fenway Park is not to be missed, as are the other professional sports venues that are home to the Bruins, the Celtics, and the New England Patriots. In fact, many of the local bars and eateries pay tribute to the sports teams of the city, and when there is a big game on, you can be sure to find televisions all over the city on with fans having a good time in front of them. Boston nightlife blends in with the sights of the day to create truly unique and city proud environments for every fan of the
To go into one of my first experience was going to a live basketball game, where everyone could see you on TV. I remember wearing a blue dress so representing the Orlando Magic. My boyfriend wore his Nike logo jacket which it said the magic Orlando. Therefore I only went to the basketball game because my boyfriend got 2 tickets and he brought me. It was a surprise to me because he blindfolded me at first then he took it off when he wanted to show me how the city looked. We walked in already all hyped to take pictures, I seen the polished floor where the team was going to play and it smelled clean and latex from the basketballs. Out of 18 years I have never been to any of this, it was at the Amway in Orlando so it’s very gigantic and loads
With little time left in our day, my dad decided to take me to the University of Houston campus, where he had attended college. We went to his old engineering building, where we met one of his professors. After that, we walked around the campus for a few hours, and then went to the new student center. As we were leaving the campus, I saw the football stadium, which was prepared for a Houston Dynamo MLS game.
Boston is one of the most influential city in the country. It has old historic sites and new places to visit in the city. The term “Sandwich Generation” is what some are using to describe those people who, for one reason or another, are ‘sandwiched’ between the need to provide care not only for their own children but also for at least one aging parent. There has been much debate on what classifies someone as being included in such group, and little emphasis on the hardships that accompany the transition between child and caregiver. This paper will discuss the classification that make up the “sandwich generation’ and some of the financial and emotional stress that comes with this new responsibility.
The coach talked for about thirty minutes until we came out on the ice at the Verizon Center and saw hundreds of fans cheering us. My coach had put me on the first line, which meant that I was playing first. As soon as the referee dropped the puck, the whole ice was filled with large noises. Me and my teammates passed the puck until we got into our offensive zone. My teammates faked a shot and passed it to me right in front of the goal. It was my chance. I shot the puck as hard as I could and aimed it right above the goalie’s glove. The fans were on their feet, cheering me on. The puck rolled right off of the goalie’s hand and into the net. I had just scored my first career goal at the professional level on my first time. My teammates came over to hug me and the whole stadium was screaming with joy. This was the best moment of my life. As the game went on, I scored another goal and we won two to one. The whole team high-fived me in the locker. I felt really happy that I was able to help my
When most people think about an eventful or memorable place, they almost certainly would not picture a bus. As we all know, buses are not exactly attractive. The design scheme is the same in almost every bus: rows and rows of brown seats, a thin black aisle down the middle of the bus, hundreds of hazy windows, and the big, lemon-yellow exterior. Not many people, I am sure, would consider buses to be an important part of their lives. However, if a person were to think about it, they would realize that they probably have had at least one memorable experience in their life that took place on a bus.
Material culture is the physical or tangible creations that members of a society make, use and share. (Kendall 2015). Food is a material culture that is worldwide, yet it is uniquely practiced in each culture. Food is essential to the mere existence of humans; it is the most basic commodity to our survival, yet it is so foundational to many cultures. Food is one of the most significant aspects in the Polish culture. It is necessary for everyday life, celebrations, and in times of sorrow. It is a valued family practice in Poland. It unifies families and friends, it serves as a time for socialization, and it is a symbolic in many rituals celebrated in Poland.

Culinary tourism and foodborne illness are directly interrelated. Increasingly, food is consumed outside the home with the potential for exposure to poor hygiene in commercial food service settings (WHO, 2008). Researchers already found that increased culinary tourism and lack of food safety training, are the two major reason for increase foodborne illness. According to Kramer and Scott, increased tourism and travel, the increase in the number of people dining out, changing food production methods, poor hygiene practices, a lack of training in food safety, and the public awareness of their rights of how to report these incidents ( 2004). The public's perception about eating the food of a region
It was the beginning of my junior year in high school, it was the second football game of the season, and it was the first home game that all of my junior class was playing in our home stadium. This was all before the game, my uncle and godfather, a cancer survivor, a father to three wonderful kids, and the strongest man I know stands by my side as the announcer begins his introduction of the players and their honorees. I looked down the line, the entire
It has been a little over a month since we have visited Venice. I absolutely love it here. The hotel where my family is staying overlooks the sea, where I spend most of my time playing in the water with friends. The cool water is a satisfying way to refresh after a long hot day of walking through the city. There are many people who go to the beach, but recently I have noticed a man who is always there when I am. I try not to overthink the situation, but every time I notice him, he is starting at me. I have not told anyone, nor have I been too worried about it because Venice is a big city and many tourists come here to relax and vacation at the beach, but his stare is intriguing to me. When our eyes meet and I feel that he wants to tell me something; however, he does not move. He just sits there staring and before I can approach him, I hear
