I know from experience that physically lifting a print which was left in a location with dust often does not lift very well so it has been my practice to photograph the area prior to attmpting to lift the print. I photographed the impression left in the dust and then attempted to physically lift the palm print with powder and a large Hinge lift. The lifted print was not very good quality at all so the photograph will be sent to KBI to see if they will be albe to do any kind of Database search from the picture. I documented and photographed another location on the hood of the Impala where there was fresh dust disturbance. After photographing the areas on the Impala I tended to a shoe impression left on the floor infront of the Impala. I photographed the impression with a scale as well as placing my own boot which is a Redwing size 10 1/2 beside the impression. (I later found the shoe impression belonged to a "Air Jordan 1 KO OG Timeless Canvas" (Via

On June 7th 2017 I was dispatched to 11900 Melissa Lane regarding a suspicious person loading a four wheeler into a trailer that was attached to a Silver Chevrolet Tahoe. While sitting stationary facing West on Queener Street, I observed a red Dodge van traveling North on Washington Street. I visually estimated the van to be traveling 40 MPH in a posted 30 MPH zone. As the van passed my patrol vehicle, I observed the White male driver not wearing his seat belt. I had a clear view of the driver through the open driver's side window.
The hair that was found at the scene was gold. She said they will be able to find out even more from this evidence. She said the examination of human hairs in the forensic laboratory is typically conducted using light microscopy. This examination routinely involves a two-step process the identification of questioned hairs and the comparison of questioned and known hairs. (Deedrick, July 2000, FBI Unit Chief)

Correctly identifying the type of surface expected to have a fingerprint present is a vital step in successful devel¬opment. Surfaces are generally separated into only two groups: porous and nonporous. This separation is requires the forensic scientist to select the proper technique or reagent to use on the surface in order to correctly find and use the print in evidence. Porous substrates are mostly absorbent and include materials like paper, cardboard, wood, and other forms of cellulose material. Fingerprints which are left onto these materials get absorbed and can pose a challenge to retrieve if the correct technique is not used. Amino acids in the print are able to be detected because the amino acids remain fixed when absorbed and are not easily damaged (Almog, 2001, p 178). Nonporous surfaces do not absorb any amino acids from the fingerprint these surfaces repel moisture and often appear polished. They include glass, metal, ceramic, plastics, lacquered or painted wood, and rubber. Latent pri...

They need to collect any left-behinds that were left by criminals like finger-print, saliva, semen and not to forget, shoe or foot print left by criminals. Although these things are considered frivolous by people, collecting these items can help to lessen the range of people who commit the crime. When processing a crime scene, many variables are usually not known about the suspect. There may be few witnesses and the criminal seldom leaves behind specific identifying information. Information about the perpetrator’s identity is therefore deduced from the evidence left at the scene. A person’s height is one identifying characteristic that is often
