Dentistry Career Paper

For years I have thought of becoming a dentist and now at seventeen and a senior in High School I vow to make dentistry my career choice. General dentistry suits my personal attainment goals and compliments my personality while locking down a solid corner stone for my future. Dentistry offers a challenging and exciting career that will sculpt my personal and professional development in a positive direction and will provide exceptional benefits. A successful dental care provider not only paves his own way for success and happiness but also promotes the health and wellness for the community and other professional establishments.
I have recently visited three local dental offices explaining my educational goals and was met with great enthusiasm

from surgeons, dentists and dental assistants alike. Each office was employed with a team of highly trained professionals and invited me to work with them (shadow) them, of which I plan to do at my earliest opportunity. Working in a dental office environment will teach me values of team work, customer service, patient care and the professional skills that I will need going forward.
I know that a successful career in dentistry cannot be accomplished without higher education and I understand also that the field of dentistry is widely sought after therefore allowing the dental schools to only accept the highest achievers and most determined scholars. The skills needed for a dentist are good judgement, decision-making, communication, leadership skills and many others. I will work tirelessly to obtain and diamond polish these skills as I further my education and professionalism. I plan to obtain my Associates Degree of General Studies from University of Arkansas Fayetteville by the end of calendar school year 2020. After obtaining my General Studies Associates I plan to return to University of Arkansas Fayetteville where I will obtain my Bachelors of Science in offered dental hygiene programs. From there during the summer I plan to search out and join a mentoring program which will help guide me through the dental school admission process. To be accepted into dental school I know I must have top admission test scores and impressive interviews of which I will strive for with great diligence.
I understand that the path I have chosen requires a great deal of dedication and study but will be greatly beneficial and accounts for only a few years of my life.
I am confident that Dentistry is the right path for me and I look anxiously forward to achieving my set goals while setting a bedrock foundation for my future.
