My impressions of this song is that it’s a good remix of their African roots and more modern pop. The whole song has a nice melody effected by African rhythms which really match Nico and Vinz’s voices. I have heard the song far to often but I still think it’s a good song.
The star text of a celebrity can help to decipher their image and transitions they may undergo. In order to better understand these transitions, one must know the definition of a star text. A star text is the sum of everything we affiliate with celebrities, which includes their body of work, promotion, publicity, and audience participation (Jackson, 08/09/16). One must note that “celebrity doesn 't happen because someone has extraordinary qualities – it is discursively constructed by the way in which the person is publicised and meanings about them circulate” (O 'Shaughnessy and Stadler 424). Bruno Mars is one of the influential names in pop and R&B music. His use of interesting vocals and unique music techniques makes his music enjoyable. Listening to Doo-Wops & Hooligans I found that his music was very upbeat and always directed to one specific individual. While the instrumentation includes a variety of instruments, including violins, cellos, acoustic and electric guitars, drums, cymbals and a piano, the melody does not sound like an actual orchestra; synthesizers were likely utilized to produce an ethereal tone that would represent the fallen monarch’s golden age that he references throughout his lament. The melody initiates at 0:13 with a moderately fast tempo in which the king recalls his early stages of regality when he was universally acclaimed (“Viva La Vida”). Alongside the main melody, the stringed section produces the primary form of accompaniment, and drums help structure the tempo with a soft dynamic. Despite the relatively fast tempo, the guitars and violins form a timbre that acts in conjunction with the vocalist’s higher pitch to maintain a mellow atmosphere and avert a sense of disarray; however, throughout the melody, the drums transition to a higher dynamic level and a cymbal is used to accentuate this great dynamic increase. Furthermore, at 3:00 the song culminates in the introduction of the rubato section during which the vocalist’s dynamics increase to a tremendous extent; this pervades the section with a sense of overwhelming strife, and this is likely representative of the coup d’état and ultimate demise of the king.
Billie Joe Armstrong the vocalist of the band has a perfect voice for this masterpiece and he repeats most of his lyrics throughout the song. His voice starts from soft slow range whereas in the chorus he goes high range which makes it very energetic. With guitar, there is drums

Rock music fans may also not enjoy slow music as it will be very hard to bash your head and lose control to slow paced song. Finally, we can predict pop music dancers having mixed emotions.
It’s smooth because her alto voice blended well with the style she had chosen to sing. I can understand the words perfectly enough to sing along. She also uses emotion in her voice that sets the audience at ease. Jennifer Hudson’s version of “Feeling “good” has a faster rhythm that is more appropriate for the newer generation. The rhythms were identical in the beginning of both versions of the song.
