Briefly summarize the book.
Delia's new house isn't just a house. Long ago, it was the Piven Institute for the Care and Correction of troubled girls insane asylum nicknamed "Hysteria Hall." Though, many of the patients were not insane, just disobedient and strong willed kind of like Delia herself, but the house still wants to keep "troubled" girls locked away. So, in the most horrifying way, Delia becomes trapped, and that's when she learns that the house is also haunted.
Ghost girls wander the hallways in their old fashioned nightgowns. A ghost boy named Theo, roams the grounds. Delia learns that all the spirits are unsettled and full of dark secrets. The house, too, harbors shocking truths within its walls, truths that only Delia can uncover,

and that may set her and her family free.

The main characters in the story are...

Delia- The extreme main character, she inherited Hysteria Hall from her Great Aunt Cordelia. She dies and is now a ghost.
Eliza- She’s a ghost who is very skilled at escaping, but they strapped bell’s to her wrist to know where she was at all times.
Florence- A friend of Eliza’s who helps Delia, but in the end she isn’t who everyone thinks she is.
Landon- Delia’s ex- boyfriend, he comes back with Nic to find what had happened to Delia.
Nic- Delia’s best friend who wanted to know what had happened to her best friend, but almost gets killed from Delia after Delia finds out Nic and her ex- boyfriend Landon are a couple.
Theo- The 5th ghost Delia meets and they become good friends, and he is the only boy ghost there,
Maria- A ghost that before she died, people had thought she had killed people than herself, but actually she had been poisoned.
Rosie and Posie- the 3rd and 4th ghost Delia meets, and in the end help Delia and Janie.
Delia and Janie’s Mom and Dad- Shortly after Delia’s death, they get divorced and Delia’s mom and Janie go back to Hysteria Hall and they find out what really happened.
Janie/Jane- Delia’s little sister, she was the most beautiful in the family, but after Delia’s death she goes goth, and feels like Delia’s death was her

fault.

The setting in the book is at Delia’s Great Aunt Cordelia’s, who had past and Delia’s family had moved in short after, house isn’t just a house, it was once an insane asylum for troubled girls and was nicknamed “Hysteria Hall.” The Plot in the story is, a girl named Delia and her family buy her Great Aunt Cordelia’s house that was once an asylum for troubled girls.

They don’t realize that the house isn’t a normal house and they are in trouble. Delia had knew the house was haunted and her parents didn’t believe her. Delia had died from the house and her parents had thought she had committed suicide. Delia meets many ghost but misses her family. About 4 years later, Janie and her mother came back without her father. Her parents had gotten a divorce and Janie was a whole new person. Delia’s mom and sister had learned then, that the house was haunted and Delia had not commit suicide. The ghost helped the family leave, and Delia was happy they’re gone and safe. In the story there are many examples of conflict, a few of them are how Delia was trying to fight off black smoke that was trying to consume her, how Delia dies,becomes a ghost, and battles to get through walls. The resolution in the story is that Delia saves her sister and all the other ghost help Delia to save her family, because Delai doesn’t have the power too, and they make sure the family is out of the

house.

What was your opinion of the book? Was the action believable?
I personally enjoyed the book. It had many action parts in the story and it kept me to want to keep reading. The story was well written and I never got lost to what was happening in the story, I was always following along. I don’t think the action was really believable, because most are the parts are unrealistic, for examples, the house being haunted, the ghost, the black smoke, and the ghost talking to each other. Although this couldn’t really happen, but if this had happen, it would pretty crazy.
