Recommended: The controversy over deforestation

Every minute, every second, every time you blink a life is gone, destroyed. Did you know that every minute between 100-200 trees are cut down? That is the size of one-football field, and to think that most people don’t even realize that is very sad. Deforestation should be limited because it causes much of the world’s pollution and it is destroying the natural habitat and species of animals.

Deforestation is destroying our atmosphere due to the fact that we are cutting down forests at a fast rate. Most everyone knows that trees release oxygen into the air and breathes in the carbon dioxide we release. When forests are burn down all the carbon it took out of the atmosphere is going back out to the atmosphere. This is known as the greenhouse …show more content…

Many different types of species that live in the forest. Research shown that 15% of engradend species have been extinct because of deforestation according to. It doesn’t seem like a lot but the actual number of the species were extinct caused to deforestation is devastating. For example, the amazon about a little less than one tenth of animal and plant species on earth live there and as the forest get cut down animals have been going extinct. One of the multiple causes of animal extinct due to deforestation is loss of there natural habitat. If the trees are cut down then they have no place to go because there home is gone. When animals are trying to run or hide when there home is being destroyed they are probably feeling scared, sad, and confused. They have no idea of what is going on and why this is happening. The place that they are trying to hide or make a new home may not have all the thing that they need or there old home might have. This can lead to death and later may become extinction of that species. Deforestation and the effects it has on innocent animal is heartbreaking because the animals don’t have a say on this like us humans

Among the many places where deforestation takes place, Amazon seems to be one of the most affected ones. More than 20 percent of it is already gone, and much more of it is severely threatened due to deforestation . It is estimated that the Amazon alone is vanishing at a rate of 20,000 square miles a year .
