1.1 Introduction:
Since from the ancient time, travel and tourism was one of the important social activities for the human being. Human being is always in search of new places for entertainment as well for peace. Now a days travel and tourism becomes easier due to advancement in technology. This technological advancement calls for the changes in the tourism industry which makes it rapidly growing industry of the world. The growth of this industry is become rapid due to increasing income level, increased leisure time and reduction in the cost of traveling. • It has two elements, travelling to destinations as a dynamic element and stay at a destination as a static element.
• It is an activity of temporary and short term movement that takes place away from the normal place of residence and work.
• It does not involve travelling for taking up permanent residence or for employment as a source of income. (Edward, 2005) 6
1.4 Forms of Tourism:
In 1994, the UNWTO7 identified three forms of tourism in its recommendations on tourism statistics.
1. Domestic Tourism, which involves travelling for tourism within the country of nationality.
2. Inbound Tourism, involving citizen of other country traveling in the given country.
3. Outbound Tourism, involving residents of a given country traveling to another country.
These three basic forms of tourism can be combined in various ways to derive the following categories of tourism.
A) Internal tourism, which comprises domestic tourism and inbound tourism;
B) National tourism, which comprises domestic tourism and outbound tourism;
C) International tourism, which consists of inbound tourism and outbound tourism.
