“Work hard in silence, let success be your noise”(Frank Ocean). Success is something all people strive for but no one truly knows how to achieve it. Some people stumble upon it, others work hard for it, and some people never feel they achieve success. So the question becomes, what really is success? John Wooden once said “Success is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to do your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming”(Wooden). Success and happiness are tied together. Success does not mean someone wealthy. Whatever makes a person happy is what they need to be successful. The higher the happiness content of someone’s life, the more successful they will be. If the money …show more content…
The definition of wealthy is “Someone with many riches, especially material riches. A person with a million dollars is an example of someone who might be described as wealthy”(Webster). Having money is something that a lot people automatically link to success. Although, money does not make people happy. In order to truly be successful someone needs to be happy with where they are and what they do. A person could be wealthy but not be happy at all, so how can they call themselves successful? Someone could make the argument that with money someone could just buy things that would make them happy. Yet, this is unimportant in view of the fact that if people have to go and buy things to be happy then are they really happy with their lives? All that they are doing is buying things to distract themselves from their everyday lives. Someone who is successful will be truly happy in all parts of their life. Having a happy home life is a key factor of success. As long as someone is content and are happy with what they have then they are successful. A person could dirt poor but they could be happy with their life and be more successful than the richest man in the world if he is
...to be happy and what it means to be successful. Being happy is not the same as being rich, and money is not a necessity for being happy or successful. Money can be facilitative in accomplishing tasks, but money cannot buy success.
People live life wanting everything they can’t afford. Millions of Americans idealize famous movie actors and musicians, and wish to aspire to that degree of wealth. Many people are envious of such billionaires as Bill Gates, and tell themselves they could have done that. Everyone wants to be rich. They feel that if they had all the money they wanted, they could truly be happy.
Success is within the mind of the individual. A large portion of ones life is spent working to become successful. People are told throughout childhood to work hard so they can grow up and make lots of money. But success takes many different forms. Different people have different interpretations of what success means to them. For some, success is measured by social status and wealth; for others success is determined only by the amount of happiness one feels.
According to Dylan, anyone can be successful. In a way this is true, but just waking up every morning, doing what you please, and then going to bed a night, will not make a person successful. Imagine a world where people did as they pleased. This world may appear calm and happy at first. This view will change once the people realize they are not meeting certain needs or supplies disappear. With people doing as they please, there would be no one going into work everyday to create the millions of materials humans use each day. Factories would be forced to shut down and then the supply chain would simply stop altogether.
'One has achieved success who has lived well and laughed often.'; This quote seems to sum up what is meant by success. If you are able to laugh often and much then you have definitely achieved happiness. The idea of living well, though, is a very broad statement. In order, then, to define success in relation to this statement, we must first define what it means to live well. There are three levels of success, in my opinion: societal success, personal success, and academic or professional success. If someone can achieve all of these three levels of success, they are someone who has lived well.
Success only truly comes with being happy. Happiness and success are the accomplices of one another. Someone cannot have accompanies without the other. Happiness brings success, and success brings even more happiness. Success, in the dictionary, is defined as the achievement of something desired planned or attempted. Therefore, success cannot be judged by anyone than oneself. It is a personal thing. It is the realization of goals, desires or plans made by one 's self. It is not measurable and yet is something we always use to compare others or appraise someone 's worth. Success, in one form or another, is something that someone should always be striving for. For some people it is something they will do subconsciously, and for others it will be something they will constantly labor for. Because success is something that is different for everyone, it is best that they measure their personal success by their sense of self worth instead of others. To have succeeded is to have lived, as someone wanted; ' it is to have lived well and laughed
What is true meaning to be successful? In America, many people see success in earning good money and fulfilling their dreams, while many others defined happiness in their lives as a success. Everybody has dream to have opulent comfort of limonene, but it is not easy to chase for a high standard American dream and achieved it. There is more in life than earning money and being well-known. It is about being happy, proud, and secure about oneself.
I believe this is untrue that the real way to be happy is not to be content with yourself and stop trying to better yourself but to continue pushing your own boundaries until you can not go any further. To be at peace with yourself and your life. This does not mean money is a evil thing and I hope people get rich because they have earned it through pushing themselves to their limits. The American dream needs to start to slowly change and hopefully that’ll happen in our lifetime.
The true definition of success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Although, many people have different perceptions of success. Success is judged by the individuals themselves. Success can be defined in many ways including: wealth, happiness, fame, etc. Success can be anything from material goods to concepts. It all depends on your concept and how you achieve your goals. You have to have persistence within yourself. Varying on your profession, you will need a certain skill level. Your definition of success can be suitable best for you, but not for others. It is about truly not giving up, reaching your full potential, and self-fulfillment.
Being happy comes from seeing life without struggle not money or fame. Furthermore, money can’t bring joy to life. Money could lead to conflict. For example, Britney Spears is rich but she has so many tragic flaws happened to her back then, She created all of her unfortunate circumstances on her own.
What exactly is happiness anyway? Happiness is when you feel complete and satisfied. It is when you’re content with where you are and what you have. It is the joy of doing something you love, or spending time with someone you love. It is an emotion and the best one yet. Money can easily make a person temporarily happy with the possessions it can buy, but true happiness is more than that. People can have everything material wise and still not be happy. Sure it can buy you many things, but the happiness from it is only temporary and limited. There’s only so much happiness you can buy with money. Money can easily buy you food, a clock, a house, education, make-up or medication; however it can’t buy you nutrition, time, a home, knowledge, beauty or health. It can buy you infatuation, but not love, acquaintances but not friendship and hierarchy but not respect. People spend their entire lives trying to make more and more money thinking that it means success. They neglect family and friends, don’t care about who they take down to reach their ...
...oughout the people I interviewed. They felt happy and success because they lived up to their version of success while being happy. Success and happiness are two different feelings. One decides whether they want to live happy and successful or be successful to be happy.
Now how does a person go about being happy, well let us examine one of the most common questions in reference to happiness, “can money buy happiness?” most people would say “yes.” The answer to this question will almost always be yes, because society and humans in general tend to be greedy creature always wanting more, from a better house to finer foods there is and always will be more to obtain. You can be the richest person in the world, but if you 're not happy what is the point? The reason people succeed in the world is to be happy and not let anything drag you down. For some it may be difficult, but if you spend time to find the heart of the reason it will stay with you till the day you die. I will admit though I have not yet accomplished my happiness goal, but I know that once I do I won 't have to worry about no more. “Action may not always bring happiness; but there is no happiness without action.” says Benjamin Disraeli. So if I were to ask myself the question “What creates happiness?” I will always know what to say. Happiness is created from what you believe will make you wake up everyday with a smile on your face. It 's created when you enjoy what you do. It 's created when you accomplish life goals. Happiness depends ouself whether we accept it or deny
Success is something we all wish to achieve and even though we have different definitions of success, we all want to success in different aspects of our lives. For some success, success is attaining an education, others it's getting a good job, for others it's being wealthy, and others to start and own a business while for others it's having a family of our own and seeing our children prosper. We all have different metrics of measuring success and we all have different goals, but it is part of human instinct to want success, to want to succeed in everything we do no matter how small or big. Success gives us a feeling of development and growth, a sense of gratification that we are no longer where we used to be, but rather
