The definition of success can be extremely different form one person to another. Mainstream media have made us believe a potentially dangerous definition of success. They want us to believe that the key to success is having lots of money and living in the biggest houses. A lot of people work very hard during their lives to achieve their definition of success. To some it might mean achieving a life ambition, acquiring an education, or to some it may simple mean to be able to take care of one’s family. Many people think that the only way to be successful is to be wealthy. This could not be further from the truth. Money can buy comforts but it cannot help you obtain knowledge or wisdom. Success is when somebody achieves the goals in their life, despite of what anybody else says. To be confident in your own decisions is extremely important to be successful. Even if somebody knows that they have potentially made a bad decisions, just to admit that you made a bad decision allows them to learn from that decision. The wealthiest man in the world can be very unhappy and consider himself to not be successful. Money is not a measure of success. Although, for some people it may be your definition of success to be wealthy. For this type of person having a good college education is more than likely high on their list. College can also help people be prepared for the real world. This can help make them more successful. Most people work their entire life to be able to purchase the things that they desire. Success means to live a life in alignment with what brings us real joy. In my case, “success-joy” comes in many guises. At times, in being persistent with my current dreams, others, investing time and energy in what makes my life shine, and that is, without a doubt, when my life is at service of humanity and when I cultivate happy and healthy close relationships. I tend to define success as a state of being, a constant process of unfolding rather than a place to arrive. It is the journey of getting to know ourselves, in order to fully occupy every aspect of what we are; a forever changing aspiration, a state of being in which we realize that life’s greatest rewards spring from our capacity to relate to adversity in innovative ways. I have also discovered that real success shows up again when we debunk and deconstruct every single stereotype and assumption we have about ourselves. In this way, we feel capable to challenge what is commonly accepted as wisdom and then we have the opportunity to change and integrate our values with greater ones. There is an enormous joy when we feel free to play with the possible new scenarios that our imagination and creativity compelled us to try. A successful state of being is alert and grounded within us with the certainty, that the choices we embark on are in resonance with what we consider is the truth of what we are in that precise
Even though you may think you can succeed without a plan, every decision made will either help or hinder success because all actions have consequences and people who take personal responsibility succeed. Success to one person is not always the same to another, we all have our own definitions of success. To some, success may mean money and wealth. To others good health. To one it may mean a great job or doing a job they love. And to another a great family and home life. Whatever our definition of success, it is important to find out what the means to you. It is a competitive job market and if one wants a high paying job he needs some college credentials. College is also said to prepare people to take on the world. Once one has graduated and has a well paying job he is on his way to becoming successful. People work their whole lives making money so they can satisfy their desires. The idea of being able to purchase the items one has always dreamt about is an achievement. People dream about owning a home and having beautiful things to fill it with. Many people take pride in what they possess. People want to own nice homes, nice cars, and nice clothes. Some need to look successful in order to feel successful. These people feel successful when they can admire what their hard work has given them.
Successful is a simple word, however, the meaning of this word changes quite often. Each person has a different definition of success and that definition can change depending on the situation. Bob Dylan once wrote, “A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.” This a very broad definition of success and should not be used. The definition of success should be “the pursued goals have been adequately accomplished.”
Success is a term used by almost every individual person on this green and blue planet that we call Earth. Whether it is parents, college professors, teachers, bosses, co-workers, and inspirational speakers, they all apply this word to everyday life, however what does it truly mean? Success is a noun that, by definition, stands for “the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.” Although this is the official definition, society has a different definition for the phrase success. Society has defined the phrase success as being wealthy, having quite a few material items, having a stable well-paying job, and a healthy family as a side bonus. There are members of society
'One has achieved success who has lived well and laughed often.'; This quote seems to sum up what is meant by success. If you are able to laugh often and much then you have definitely achieved happiness. The idea of living well, though, is a very broad statement. In order, then, to define success in relation to this statement, we must first define what it means to live well. There are three levels of success, in my opinion: societal success, personal success, and academic or professional success. If someone can achieve all of these three levels of success, they are someone who has lived well.
Everyone has their own view of success and it is not only money that can make a person successful. I believe success can mean overcoming hardships. Nobody likes to feel pain or go through rough times, but
Different people have different views of succeeding. Does having a lot of money make a person successful? It shouldn’t. Thomas There are many jobs that doesn’t need a college degree, for example artistic jobs.
Accomplishing your aim or purpose can be the true definition of success. You must want to achieve your goals at hand. You must want to earn everything. You really should put in the effort needed to become a successful person. Becoming a successful person requires you to be an extraordinary character. This means you have to be a very self-disciplined, competent, and trustworthy person. That allows you to become more trusted within the community and earn more respect. Learning from your mistakes is essential to your success. Every time you fail you become more knowledgeable on a subject. You can fail as many times as you want but eventually you will learn what is right from wrong. This will lead to you to become open minded and achieve success. You will have to put in the time and effort. Planning ahead allows you to have a schedule so you won’t be behind. If you have a plethora of skills, you will have a higher chance of success than other people. Skills allow you to qualify for certain positions and allow you to excel in what you need to. You can have time to achieve your goals and predict what else you need to do. Success can come in many ways including family, money, fame, respect, and achieving your goals. There are many ways to achieve success but these are only a few ways. Only you can decide who you want to be and determine your own goals. You’re the only person who can judge your
Society wants us to believe that living a life devoted to the pursuit of money will lead to success. Sadly, this is not true. Though money can buy conveniences and comforts, one will need much more than artificial amenities to live a successful, well-balanced life. Money makes life easier, not better. For example, money cannot make some intelligent, only hard work and dedication will lead a person to become smart. Money cannot help someone build a long-term relationship with someone you love; this only comes through passion and devotion. All the money in the world cannot teach respect or courtesy that only comes with good teaching and a strong concern for the feelings of others. Money merely detracts from the pursuit of success by providing distraction, temptation, and corruption. Therefore society claim that having money determines success is illegitimate and cannot be synonymous with the true meaning.
COLLEGE DEGREE TO BE SUCCESSFUL Consider ourselves to be successful. In recent times, it has been extensively discussed if a college degree is a prerequisite to be successful. However, it would be in our best interest The most essential fact about life is what causes us to be successful and when we finally to have an understanding of what criteria to be used in evaluating success. Most people probably consider being successful as relative to their job title, degree, income and material things like cars, home, expensive wears, to name a few. Naturally, those are the things that crossed our mind when we thought of being successful.
Wealth and material belongings can be the definition of success for those of us who prefer more tangible possessions. A raise, a promotion or receiving flying colors on an examination are all little pieces of success. Success is the outcome of hard work and diligence in achieving a specific result. This is the more known aspect of success, secrets whispered down from generation to generation. Focus in your studies and work hard, success will find its way to you.
Meaning of success has become confusing. We live in the world that tells us that it is important to be rich rather than be happy. We all know examples of people who are famous and rich, but are very unhappy. For example comedian Dave Chappelle had his own TV show and became a famous and a rich person. Yet underneath he was very unhappy; He was so unhappy that he had to stop his show because he had a nervous breakdown from the pressure of being
The bureaucratic nature of modern society favours people with qualifications and not privileged through birth. This gives us more room to steer our lives, carving out our destiny as we see fit. How successful you are in your career will decide how rich you are, unless you are born to a very wealthy family from which you are sure to receive a substantial amount of inheritance. But not all people have this change, so they are left with the option of making it out in life all by themselves. And given the hardships that should be undertaken in order to become successful it is certainly a great achievement to have a successful career and a lot of money.
Success is something we all wish to achieve and even though we have different definitions of success, we all want to success in different aspects of our lives. For some success, success is attaining an education, others it's getting a good job, for others it's being wealthy, and others to start and own a business while for others it's having a family of our own and seeing our children prosper. We all have different metrics of measuring success and we all have different goals, but it is part of human instinct to want success, to want to succeed in everything we do no matter how small or big. Success gives us a feeling of development and growth, a sense of gratification that we are no longer where we used to be, but rather
