As a consequence of any organisation; whether government or non-government organisations, they all have their own set of rules and regulations to follow. These organisations are formed by groups of people focusing their attitude and mentality on a particular goal. A proper medical term used in this category is call, “Code of Conduct.” Here in this essay, I will discuss the significance of the two prominent and similar organisations; The Health Extension Officers and Professional Nurses. The primary focus here, is to protect and guide the character of Health Extension Officers and Nurses towards their profession. Firstly, I will explain the Health Extension Officer’s code of conduct and secondly, the Nurses code of conduct.

In addition, more and more people started to see the importance of nursing and willing to perform that duty. Up until today many people are enjoying the privilege of nursing those who are sick, helpless and are injury. That is the fundamental duty professional nurses need to perform in their career. But the question is; how do nurses performed their profession? Are they breast feeding patients properly? These may bring together some deep thinking of one’s attitude. The ideal of professing their profession. Here attitude is related to the manner of working among people and community.
In fact, every communities have their own ways of approach. Nurses have to abide with the rules regulations within the particular community. For instance, when I first arrived at Williame Health Centre (Southern Highlands), people have different mentality – killing or injured someone is just like a game, they are used to the system of paying back. Upon that knowledge, one has to be registered with the Nursing Council of Papua New Guinea. Once the foundations are in place, each individual has to demonstrate their profession to “strengthen Primary Health care for all and improve service delivery for the rural majority” (Department of Health Extension, 2015). Now it will become a commitment for a life time.
