A good movie has many factors for it to be a great. Movies can end up being terrible or great depending on how well these factors are done. In my opinion the factors that make up a good move is a good story , an interesting cast of characters , and a very good and satisfying ending. A good movie needs these factors so that the movie can be memorable and enjoyable. Though if all of this is done in a wrong way the movie will be forgotten and will probably make you want your money back. These are the factors and they should be used as guidelines whenever someone is making a movie.
Now a story is great when it has a great plot, excellent pacing, and originality. When I say good plot I mean that the plot is well done and does not leave the audience confused. Excellent pacing is when the speed of the movie is fast and gives the audience I nice blend of exposition and action. Now these day originality in a movie is rare. But when the movie has a story that's original it's usually done right or even perfectly. That's why I like movies that were from the 90’s because of how original they

were. A great example of this was the matrix. Even though it is one the most overrated movie I have seen , I still love it. The movie had an excellent story with great pacing and originality. The movie overall was my kind of film. That is what a good story needs. The next factor that a good movie needs is a good and interesting cast of characters. An interesting cast of characters need a good or well written personality , a complex backstory , and some redeeming quality for us to even care about the character. Just like stories there is barely any originality in characters. But sometimes reused characters can be done well.Though an example of good characters is Guardians Of the Galaxy. The movie was great and memorable because of the well written dialogue , great story , astounding visuals , and above all interesting characters. The characters had great personalities, funny lines, and some reasons for us (the audience) to care about the character. The last factor is a good ending. The ending is what could make or break a movie. The ending needs to tie all loose ends, not leave us confused, and overall a happy ending. Like the back to the future series. The ending was very satisfying and had a happy ending which made the movie memorable. These are the factors and this is how a movie should be done. Though there are examples of what a bad movie could be.
The factors can be destroyed if the the factor is made terrible. The first factor that could be messed up is the story. A bad story can have a bad plot, barely any explanation, and an unoriginal story. An example of this is Frozen. It was a bad movie by having boring characters , questionable character personality change , and a 2nd part pulled out of thin air. Now bad characters have no emotion , well written dialogue , and terrible backstory. A great example is food fight . It was the worst animated movie of all time. It had terrible character development , terrible voice acting , and a terrible script. Now a bad ending can destroy the movie if it’s sad , short , or ended on a sour note. An example is the movie Alien . The movie was great but the ending was done on a sour note and not
satisfying. These were the factors that make up a good movie . movies need this in order to be good . The movies will be bad if you don’t have them.Movies these days are just copied and pasted . And if people don’t follow the guidelines then it’s lazy . Thats what I think makes a good movie.
Some of the situations may be familiar; we may be able to anticipate the ending. and the characters who should not really be different from everyday. people we meet). Having said this most people today like to see a new story, a new moral. This is a demand that every director tries to fulfilment.
Identify specific elements of a motion picture that film studios look for in a successful movie.
Movies have different genres. They range from documentaries to science fiction films. Some may be make believe with a very enticing theme, or they consist of straight facts that may or may not bore the audience depending on what the particular individual finds interesting. A particular movie depicts an event that occurs in 1986 where a small town's elementary school became the target to a genius lunatic. What is a miracle? Well, The Cokeville Miracle has a lasting impression on anyone who views it because it is based on a real event, the "coincidences", and the background music.
Great movies come and bad movies go. Some stay seeded in the mind while others sink back into a quiet existence, never to be heard from again. Even though according to Jamie Weinman from the Maclean’s, “The disappointing fifth-place box-office opening of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World means that Universal probably shouldn't have spent $60 million on a Michael Cera movie” (78), Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World is not one of the movies that needs to slide back into the hole from which it came. In fact, the near two hours goes by quite quickly with all the action involved. Based on the visual effects, music, and conflict quality, Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World is a cinematic masterpiece that is sure to become a classic.
Before the civil rights movement could begin, a few courageous individuals had to guide the way. Dr. Vernon Johns was one of those individuals. Dr. Vernon Johns was a pastor and civil rights activist in the 1920s. Johns became the pastor of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama in the late 1940s. During his time as a pastor, Johns preached many sermons on how African American people were being treated not only in the community but in society. Johns on multiple occasions upset his community through his ideas on social change. Through a sociologist perspective, many sociological concepts were displayed in The Vernon Johns Story. Some of those concepts included: ascribed status, conflict theory, deviant behavior, alienation, and
What components make a movie successful in cinema? Filmmakers have crafted a formula to successfully deliver the hero narrative. This formula consists of the hero’s journey and archetypes. Hero films typically follow a ten-step sequence to properly set up and execute the hero’s journey. These movies range from stories of transformations, searches, or a journey back home. Archetypes are used to employ character profile as well as add variety and depth to these stories. Ridley Scott directed Alien, in which Ellen Ripley embarks on a journey where she must survive an alien who is out on a murderous rampage and return back to Earth. Alien adds originality to its storyline by choosing a female lead instead of a male, but the film still incorporates the same heroic attributes that make a story successful. In this “going home journey” film, Scott is able to incorporate the hero’s journey and the official hero archetype towards the heroine Ellen Ripley.
The directing in this movie, however, was really poor. The props, murders, and camera direction left much to be desired. The director Dario Argento was highly decorated throughout the 1960s, but he really showed his bad side of directing. This movie had such high potential but he really destroyed that potential.
...s we are given. Some displayed right on the screen, others shown through actors’ gestures. At the same time this film keeps us entertained with action and violence current the interested of the present generation. This shows “American Gangster” was made with the audience in mind and this is why it did so well in the box office. This film really does such a quality job of capturing the time period, but it still had all these other elements in it to try to make it perfect. “A perfect cast”, that become their character and still brings their own personification into the film. Setting that can not confuse you, as well as narrative economy that still again remind you were you are. Editing that flows nice and evenly. But is this all the makes for a perfect film or just a jack-of-all-trades, master of none. Are all these qualities too much and really their downfall?

It’s not great. It’s a disappointment, so kill it swiftly and be done.” Reviews that contrast this much lead one to wonder what the criteria for a great historical action film would entail. One important criterion a historical action film must have is a certain degree of historical accuracy.
The origin of the word myth seems to be a myth in itself. Myths have generally originated from a Greek history that used an oral tradition to explain events that occurred before the written word. Often supernatural beings or fictitious characters were used to explain popular ideas concerning phenomena's of nature or the history of people. The myths that were carried on from generation to generation were often very imaginative in an attempt to spark the interest of young listeners. These would be told at social gatherings. This quote taken from Oedipus Rex spoken by Jocasta is not advice one would normally give or agree with today. This is because these self-assured lines treat incest lightly but later comes back to haunt her. Jocasta, however, solves the riddle of Oedipus’s identity before Oedipus does, and in her desire to protect him from this knowledge she uses the expression of her love for Oedipus and her husband. Jocasta demonstrates the willingness to accept the prophecy of Oracle that her son would kill her husband, King Laius. Even after being warned, Oedipus defies the Oracle’s prophecy and it comes true. From Oedipus’s rebellion in this story, the gods utilized fate, prophecies, the plague, and the Oracle to play a significant role the destruction
