Definition Essay: What Does Trust Means To You

What does trust mean to you? Do you trust everyone close to you, and the people you deal with day to day? The definition of Trust is “firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something”. The definition of Trustworthiness is “able to be relied on as honest or truthful”. Trust is one of the most important things to me. I’ve had many people break my trust and its hard to know if someone is genuine and reliable and somebody you actually wanna associate with. People change, that's one big thing I have came to learn throughout the years, there are so many people I thought I knew that turned their backs on me.
Throughout high school I met many new people and learned a lot about pretty much everyone I talked to. Starting

freshman year I pretty much only had 2 Best friends. Jake and gunnar, Jake i have been friends since we were 3 years old. Gunnar I met in middle school and we were great friends ever since. The 3 of us would hang out almost everyday. We all got along and had things in common and had fun. Everything started to change however my sophomore year of highschool. They both started talking to different groups of people and would constantly blow me off to hangout with other people. The two people that i thought were my best friends and that i could trust for anything didn't want to hangout with me because I wasn't “cool” and i don't “party”. As high school went on they would hardly talk to me and if they were with there new friends and saw me in the hall they would pretend they didn't know me. It hurt that the people I had spent so much time with just forgot about me and all the good times we had together. They broke my trust. I have never forgiving them.
Life moves on and so did I. I had other friends through high school, starting my freshmen year I met my “then Best Friend gwen” We met one day when I was hanging out at jake's house and he invited her over. I will never forget that night, we all played hide n go seek in the basement and it was a blast. From that day on me and Gwen became best friends. We hung out everyday. We would hangout after school. She would come over on the weekends and go out to dinner with my family. It felt as she was part of my family since how much time we spent together. Everything seemed okay right up until the end of my junior year. She would always act really mad and jealous when i would talk to any of my other friends but I would just ignore Beginning of my senior year however she started talking to different people and that's when everything started to change. She was acting way different and she didn't seem like the same person at all. But I let it be and we were still best friends, I brought her to arizona with me and my family, me and her went to the twenty one pilots concert, our friendship was honesty still great i had thought. Up until I told gwen something I never told anyone else. She didn't seem like she cared about me anymore. We got into a big fight and she posted lies about me all over social media and told everyone i knew crap about me that wasn't true. She made me look like i was a terrible person and all of it wasn't true and it hurt so much. The person that I devoted 4 years of my life broke my trust.
