Loyalty is a trait that a multitude of people crave in so many different situations. How would it feel to be nothing but loyal to another, but get nothing back in return? People usually want loyalty, this occurs in a sports team, relationship even friendships, people feel that loyalty is an important trait in different forms of relationships. In my opinion loyalty shouldn’t be something humans if even animals have at all times. The levels of loyalty should definitely vary depending on one's situations. So my opinion on loyalty is that people should maybe be loyal. One source shows a dog that showed a large extent of loyalty to its owner that passed away. This type of loyalty could seem sweet, but having the dog stay with its dead owner for thirty hours is stepping the loyalty level up, with not a positive outcome. Another example of a bittersweet situation is giving loyalty to someone that doesn’t deserve it, or people who receive loyalty when it hasn’t been rightfully earned. Such as a villain in a movie, and their evil sidekick who lays loyalty in their “leader”. Another example is dogs, dogs are one of mankind's most popular forms of loyalty. Dogs are the creatures who will build a bond with a person and hold onto the bond with an extreme amount of loyalty. Unfortunately dogs get a rough end of a deal from time to …show more content…
One example of a situation where loyalty is needed is a quote. The quote talks about when being on a team it’s best to be loyal to each teammate and play as a team. From the experience of playing on a team you learn that in order to play successfully, the team members will have to work for it. They’ll have to gain trust and look out for each other. Even in movies, when members who are on the same team fight, their overall outcome doesn't turn out as wanted. Therefore when loyalty isn't present the people playing on a team won’t work as a team, when that’s all that’s really
Loyalty is one of the ethics that is instilled in a person at a young age. Loyalty can range from loyalty to a family member, friend, teammate, ect. In Larry Watson's, Montana 1948, the summer of 1948 tests the loyalty of each character and is told through the eyes of a young boy, David. The picture was clear to David when Marie was Murdered. Through this tragic event David was able to read each family member determining whether they were loyal or whether they would betray.
A very obvious example of loyalty is, Penelope. She is faithful to Odysseus for over 20 years and does not give up for long time. Even when the suitors came to her house and ate her food and overstayed their welcome she did not budge and still stayed faithful to Odysseus for the whole time he was gone. She told the suitors that when she finished her tapestry she would choose who she wants to marry, but every night she would undo a piece of the tapestry just so it would take longer and it would give Odysseus more time to come back just so she would not have to choose one of the suitors.
Is loyalty important to everyone? How important to you? Does it affect your friendships? In Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini loyalty is one of the themes that is explored, it is shown three times through the phrase “For you a thousand times over”. “For you a thousand times over” is said three times, once Hassan to Amir, Farid to Amir, and then finally Amir to Sohrab. Each time this is said it represents a loyalty and who the loyalty is towards
Loyalty allows people to make sacrifices in order to protect the ones that are deat to them. In the book The Chrysalids written by John Wyndham, there are individuals willing to die for one another just to keep each other safe from the society trying to hunt them down.
Loyalty can be expressed in many ways whether it be by doing anything for someone else or just being very trustworthy person overall.
Loyalty is one of the only things that can hold the bonds of family and friends.
Loyalty is when you can put your faith in another person knowing that he or she will also be there. In AOHF and OMAM loyalty plays a major role in the friendship between Huck and Jim and Lennie and George. Especially when Huck rescues Jm for the Phelps’ farm to save him from being sent back to Miss Watson causing him to become a slave again, “(Twain 180)”. Huck being uneducated, uncivilized, and dirty boy shows unbreakable loyalty to Jim. In the book when they are going down the mississippi river and these white men want to search their raft for runaway niggers.
“Blood is thicker than water.” Loyalty is helping someone you care about. Justice is obeying the law and not helping someone. The Outsiders, Mama Went To Jail For The Vote, and When Family Loyalty Becomes Crime all show the theme loyalty vs. justice. Loyalty is more important than justice because helping family and friends are important, going above and beyond can help save someone, and obeying the law could get someone you’re close to in trouble.
Another example of loyalty being shown throughout the movie is when Luke and Obi-Wan are all in a Cantina. They come into contact with smugglers who owe people lots of money. After talking to the smuggler named Han Solo, they agree to pay him a fee to get off the planet and use his ship. Right before the group leaves, Han Solo is confronted by a bounty hunter. He is told if he doesn’t pay up the money, he will die.
Trent Shelton, the president of a non-profit organization, once said, “I’m more concerned with who you are behind my back, than who you are in my face. Your loyalty shouldn't depend on my presence.” Shelton’s words are some of many that exist on loyalty but just about sums up loyalty in a whole. And these words hold true to anyone because a loyal person stays by one’s side no matter what; however, loyalty, in its extremes, can reveal the darker sides residing within a person.
Loyalty is a strong word that I hold near and dear to my heart. A loyal Soldier is not only one who supports their leadership, but also stands up for his/her fellow Soldiers. I will always place my Soldiers first, and I expect the same from each one of my Soldiers below me. The quickest way for a leader to lose respect within their chain of command is when they break their loyalty to their comrades. Leadership Philosophy Integrity is not only doing the right thing when others are watching, but to do the right thing when nobody is looking.

Contrary to the aforementioned, three of the most important relationships in As You Like It lack loyalty. Loyalty is necessary in all healthy relationships, in As You Like It. The lack of loyalty in certain character relationships emphasizes the need for loyalty in the relationships in the play. The behavior of some of the characters in the play proves that the lack of loyalty is detrimental to their relationships. These relationships are between Duke Fredrick and Celia, Oliver and Orlando, and Rosalind and Orlando.
Not all work groups are teams. Reilly and Jones (1974) list four essential elements of teams: goals, interdependence, commitment, and accountability. The members must have mutual goals or a reason to work together; there must be an interdependent working relationship; individuals must be committed to the group effort; and the group must be accountable to a higher level within the organization. A good example is an athletic team, whose members share goals and an overall purpose. Individual players have specific assignments they are responsible for, but each depends on the other team members to complete their assignments. Lack of commitment to the team effort reduces overall effectiveness. Finally, the team usually operates within the framework of a higher organization such a league.
A company’s or any type of business’ main priority is to make profit, therefore it is very difficult for the business to reciprocate such kind of dedication to its employees. Hence, any kind of relationship whether in sub-ordinate or managerial level is profit-oriented. It is crystal clear that a business would prioritize profit over its employees. It would therefore make little or no sense at all to give loyalty to a business that would function perfectly well without offering your loyalty at all. The company can only be loyal to its employees only when being loyal to them increases the profit of the company.
