When I lived in my country, I had occasion to do volunteering. At that time, I and my friends went to some places where the poor people lived. I gave them some foods, they felt happy and sent the good feedback for ours. I realized that when someone around me feel happy, I feel bless too. According to Arthur Brooks in the article why giving makes you happy he mentioned that in 2006 Americans gave nearly $300 billion away and some charities , they appeal to someone to collect the quarter in December. One of the reason is to help people in their favorite charities and another special reason is they think that like a precious gift can help them have happier New Year. We can't design where we are born, otherwise we can do something for others though our advantage because we also know that individual can change the world, according to The Science of Generosity: Why Giving Makes You So Happy by John Haltiwanger in Elite Daily. Someone think that giving is we need to do something big for others but it isn't really like the way they thought. Giving can be such as give someone a huge, a smile, a saying, and people can get happy from that. The more you give, the more you will be
In order to achieve happiness, one should do what makes them happy such as trying to make their dream come true or spending time with their loved ones. The main character Santiago from “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho, obtained happiness by following his dream and finding new companionship during his journey. Furthermore in the article “In the Pursuit of Unhappiness” by Darrin Mcmahon describes some things people do in order to be happy. Despite the high expectations to achieve happiness, one should follow their dreams and be with the ones you love.
Happiness is a key to everybodys life. Even the most depressed man on earth has a little happiness deep down inside. Its what keeps us striving to fulfil our needs and wants on an everyday basis. There is not one kid who does not get excited over a dollar to spend at the candy shop. What about the feeling of getting a promotion at your job, or even finding the cure for cancer. Being happy is not just healthy, but it is also rewarding for each and every individual. We strive to find anything that will turn a bad day to a good one. Individuals will compromise to attain their happiness. You can not get what you want without giving something first.
What is Happiness? Well that’s a question that everyone asks to themselves. Happiness is not something that you can trade; it’s honestly what people find. They want happiness and want to know they will always be happy. But Happiness is like air and water it is a hard emotion to grab on to in one’s hand. How do you know you have happiness? Can you feel it? Does it just happen? These are questions everyone wants a answer to.
The old cliché “Money cannot buy happiness” is a true fact that many people say all the time. A man with all the riches of the world cannot buy happiness. However, a poor man, without a cent to his name can obtain happiness if he wants, because happiness comes from within. Aristotle, an ancient Greek Philosopher and scientist proposed the idea of Eudaimonic Happiness nearly two and a half years ago. His idea was essentially that to obtain happiness one must practice being engaged in the process of happiness. Aristotle is known for the statement “Happiness, it’s living in a way that fulfills our purpose”
It is a common thought that happiness is key to a successful life, and many try to find out how to achieve the
Is life really about the 'money', the 'cash', who has the biggest gold chain or who drives the shiniest or fastest car, who sells the most albums or who has the most respect? Today happiness is viewed in many different ways. Everyone defines happiness according to their personal perpectives. Each individual describes their inner feelings in a way that you can't compare with another. Happiness originally and logically means the inner state of well being or a pleasurable or satisfying experience. It enables you to profit from your highest: thoughts, wisdom, intelligence, common sense, emotions, health, and spiritual values in your life. What makes you happy and what makes me happy are different things. Whatever it is that gives you warm fuzzes is determined by you, and only you. This difference is what makes the world interesting.
Brooks, author of the article “Love People, Not Pleasure”, makes his case that happiness is something that can only be found within intrinsic values, rather than extrinsic ones. In other words, he believes that people who tend to focus their lives on the more materialistic things tend to end up unhappier, whether they have succeeded in life or not. Likewise, from a similar perspective, the movie/documentary Happy stresses the idea that happiness can only come from within one’s own motivations and desires to be so. Based on the movie and these articles about the idea of happiness, similar advice is given that needs to be adapted by our society if we want to change. As individuals, we essentially become happier the moment we realize that we should be focusing on our values more intrinsically rather than our values
Contrary to belief, genuine happiness is very rarely found at the bottom of a shopping basket or on the leather seats of a brand new car. Often we hear the cliché saying “Money can’t buy happiness” but this is in fact true. Whilst the elation and delight brought from finally owning a wanted item is extraordinary, you must remind yourself that your happiness should not become dependant upon your ownership of this item. Being happy is not something you can purchase from a shop or car dealership, it is the way you take on life. Unfortunately, happiness does not have its own aisle at shops and never will.
“Are you happy?” Is a famous question that I often hear people ask when starting conversations with others. This seems like such a simple question to answer but in reality, the idea of happiness is incredibly complex. People will probably answer yes right away when first being asked this question. Often, when being asked, people will think of how they are currently feeling. However, I believe that there are many key factors that go in to determining if someone is truly happy and what leads to a good life. I have come to the conclusion that the eudaimonic form of happiness is what will lead me to living the happiest and best life.
Happiness is a feeling that humans naturally desire. Without it, one feels incomplete. In this generation, happiness has taken on a definition by how we are presented to one another. It is measured by how much money we have, how famous we are, or the things we possess. When in reality, none of these things guarantee a happy life. Happiness is something that cannot be bought with money, but rather, it must be found, earned, sought after. Each and every one of us has our own list of things that we consider to make us happy. However, happiness shines brightest through the relationships we create, and the goals we make for ourselves to strive after. Along with these two essential sources, we then can mix and match those things in life that we enjoy to create our own unique formula for happiness.
Life isn’t really all about money, or rather is it? Is life really all about who wears the best clothes, drives the latest car, wears the most expensive gold chain and have the biggest house? Happiness to some people is not all about money, although people have different view on what happiness is, some say one needs money to be happy, to some people’s view they need money to be happy, especially to the poor, while others believe that we do not need money to be happy. Happiness originally means the inner state of a well-being or a pleasurable or satisfying experience. To some people who already have lots of money they are happy, but then let’s go to the poor, if the poor are given money they will be happy, no matter how little the money is.
...e way. Apart from success, good health and longevity are associated with happiness. The lightheartedness that accompanies happiness has been said to lower the chance of strokes and heart attacks. Laughter releases tension and add to persons overall sense of well-being. Happiness is not death, or sorrow. It is not gloom, depression or heavy-heartedness. Happiness does not lament nor does it worry. It is neither moody nor pensive, neither wanton nor pessimistic. Happiness does not mourn for what was it instead rejoices in what will be. Happiness comes through good fortune and through loving and being loved. Eating a good meal, being in good health and enjoying the comforts of life can also achieve it. The simple pleasures of life bring happiness, whether it be enjoying a favorite dessert, smelling a rose or running in the rain.

A formal definition of happiness can be approached from several perspectives. It can mean the common feeling of living well or flourishing. Happiness is a feeling of completeness and sufficient good. This implies that happiness is desired for itself and not for the sake of anything else. Nowadays happiness is something everybody wants to achieve but has different views on what elements happiness should consist of. Happiness satisfies all the desires and does not have any evil in it and it is, therefore, stable. In one of his many theories, Aristotle mentions a life full of pleasure and comfort, a life characterized by money making, a philosophical life and a life of action as not being the ways to happiness. Aristotle had his own idea about
I believe that happiness is the key to living a good and prosperous life. Through all of the sadness and hate in the world, happiness gives me hope. It gives not only me, but others hope and joy. Happiness gives us something to hold onto, therefore we cherish it as much as we can.
