When talking to almost anyone people tend to ask each other, what makes you happy? Of course, we never define happiness itself without using the word happy. Everyone desires to be happy but how can we seek something when we barely understand what it is. Happiness simply is contentment, joy, and/or pleasure. While the dictionary defines happiness as such, my personal definition of happiness is when you accept imperfections and are simply choosing to make the most of every moment of everyday with everyone around you. Everyone has their own opinion of what happiness truly is. Now that happiness has been defined, you can begin to clearly understand and ask the question of what makes someone happy. When doing a survey on happiness I asked the question of, what or whom is that one special thing, event, person, or experience that makes you happy when you think about it? The responses that I received where simply mainly centered on family relationships. While the remainder was focused on adventures and food. All these responses show that people tend to display their happiness on things or others rather than their own mood. Although people crave to be happy constantly happiness doesn’t come as a constant thing. …show more content…
As stated on Happify,” no amount of feeling good will be satisfying.” As mentioned earlier, people tend to center their happiness on materialist things rather than their own personal mood. One of those materialist things consist of money. Everyone has the dream of wanting everything their hearts desire or just being rich. Of course, when anyone receives money they instantly get excited because it can be used towards our desires, so why not want to feel that way all the time? Happiness shouldn’t be focused on money because once it is gone so is that over
Happiness is satisfication, being happy doesn’t always mean to have what you want when you want it. Happiness is a state of emotion with positive and fulfilled vibes. Happiness cannot exist if everything in this world went perfectly
Is life really about the 'money', the 'cash', who has the biggest gold chain or who drives the shiniest or fastest car, who sells the most albums or who has the most respect? Today happiness is viewed in many different ways. Everyone defines happiness according to their personal perpectives. Each individual describes their inner feelings in a way that you can't compare with another. Happiness originally and logically means the inner state of well being or a pleasurable or satisfying experience. It enables you to profit from your highest: thoughts, wisdom, intelligence, common sense, emotions, health, and spiritual values in your life. What makes you happy and what makes me happy are different things. Whatever it is that gives you warm fuzzes is determined by you, and only you. This difference is what makes the world interesting.
Happiness is a feeling of satisfaction. It cannot be bought, traded or sold, although many people try to. Its one of the main things that people want, and some people may do anything to have happiness. It is the opposite of sadness and there are many forms of happiness. Happiness is different to every person.
What is Happiness? Happiness is not as simple as it may seem, there are so many ways to achieve happiness, but nobody seems to really put those ‘ways’ into effect. Happiness is being satisfied with life, having accomplished goals, and working hard to achieve acceptable health and lifestyle. Most people hope for the freedom to follow their own aspirations without obstacles, but is it truly that easy?
Happiness is an inner state of well-being and fulfilment, and therefore it has to come from inside. Every individual has his or her own emotions and way of thinking and as a result of this no one can really say what happiness is and what happiness is not. However, universally, happiness is a by-product of a healthy attitude and viewpoint. Happiness exists in everyone whether they choose to acknowledge and believe it or not. It is not rare nor is it something only the elite have: everyone has it but not everyone recognizes it. Contentment is finding a light at the end of every dark tunnel and in order to experience this we must ignore the pessimism surrounding us and remind ourselves that happiness is not a materialistic object but a choice and frame of mind.
According to the Webster dictionary, the word happiness is defined as enjoying, showing, or marked by pleasure, satisfaction, or joy. When people think of happiness, they think about having a good feeling inside. There are many types of happiness, which are expressed in many ways. Happiness is something that you can't just get; it comes from your soul. Happiness can be changed through many things that happen in our everyday lives.
Having a true friend that I can share my feelings with also makes me feel happy. Those examples indicate that happiness is a state of mind that includes emotions, pleasure, and satisfaction. Happiness is a psychological term that is hard to define since it is particular to each individual. However, we can define it as a psychological sense of life satisfaction, pleasure, and positive emotional condition. For some people, it is difficult to achieve happiness.
What does it mean to be happy? Happiness is a sensation that people want to have, and a lot of it. Above all else in the world, it’s what we seek and long for. Though this feeling can be found in many different places and at many different times, it isn’t easy to acquire. For some people, happiness might be found in exercise and sustaining good health. On the other hand, others can discover it when they go on vacation and relax. The idea here is that we each have our own things that make us happy.
Happiness has been a controversial topic for many years now and it’s understood in various ways. According to (Lyubomirsky, 2010) the definition of happiness is, “the experience of joy, contentment, or positive well-being, combined with a sense that one’s life is good, meaningful, and worthwhile.” Generally, happiness is things that has to do with an emotional and mental that can be categorized through pleasant and positive emotion such as satisfaction and joy. However, happiness also have been defined differently based on science context, each discipline have developed special views on happiness. Psychologists see it as a matter of personality, biologists view happiness as the result of chemical processes, philosophers
Everybody wants to be happy. Parents want their children to have a happy childhood and a happy life, people wish newlyweds a happy married life, and when someone passes on, they say, “S/he had a happy life,” as if that is comforting to those who are already missing the person and who are very unhappy. Why is happiness so important to people? Perhaps it is because humans are competitive by nature and one person exaggerates his/her happiness so that others are envious. Maybe it is because humans like to be distracted by a story and if they can believe someone actually achieves perfect happiness, then they can hold out hope for themselves. What is happiness exactly? No one knows because everyone defines it differently. In general though, happiness is an overall feeling of pleasure and satisfaction. If that is the case, then happiness seems easy enough to achieve, but whether humans are actually capable of realizing they are in the state of happiness though is another issue.
But in this debate, one question still raises its head - What is happiness? Happiness is not actually leading a luxurious life, but the luxury of living a life. Happiness is not actually about expanding your business, but it lies in expanding the horizons of life. Happiness is not having a meal in the most famous restaurant, but having it with your most beloved family. It does not lie in attending honorable parties, but to attend a party with honor.
Happiness comes in all forms and in a variety of meanings. Everyone can debate their perceptions on what true happiness is. The general idea is that it’s a state of mind where a person is at pleasure with their life or at a certain moment. People argue that the way to true happiness is money or finally getting that job they always dreamt of. They are narrow-minded to not think of something that will mend them happy now, in the moment. If they were to die tomorrow what is in existence today that would make them truly happy? Being content with your life is important to have, it helps a person accept life struggles and find the bright side of situations. For me, true happiness is simply being alive —breathing air is the most amazing experience, and being able to comply with my life.
Happiness, what is it, and why do we strive to achieve it so persistently? Happiness in some points of view is portrayed as the state that is derived from self-awareness of a benefiting action or moment taking place. What of the moments that are not beneficial? Can a person still find moments of happiness and success in discord, a little glimmer of light shining from the deep recesses of our own consciousness? Plucking it from a mere moment, achieved from money, or is it so much more, happiness is the precipice that all strive to gain to better perceive their success. As a person lives, they are in a constant struggle to be happy. For instance, even the United States Constitution makes reference to the idea that every person has the inalienable right to pursue happiness. This was the resulting outcome of the enlightenment from France, spilling out into the rest of the world from 1650 through 1800. This revolutionized the idea that every single person has the inalienable right to happiness or in different views the right to succeed. As to how one peruses or conjures their happiness that is an entirely different concept and completely up to their preferred preference, but it is something that a person needs to find on their own for true success.
Some have even suggested that this moderate connection might be exaggerated. In reality, money might have very little to do with happiness at all. Most puzzling, though, is that people often seem aware at some level that money won’t make them happy. And yet they continue to work away, earning money they don’t objectively need. First, though, let’s look at the three reasons money doesn’t make us happy.
Happiness is a feeling that cannot be broken if strong enough, no matter how much sadness or hate is around you. Happiness can come from the smallest thing, for instance, music makes me happy and can easily change my mood, or when I am doing something I love my mood is easily changed. For others it could be whenever you do something well, or right and get recognition for it. It is the easiest feeling to be spread and given out but often neglected and forgotten about which is something we should all be more aware
