An act of courage must be a split second decision in a high-risk situation. Doctors in the emergency room deal with high-pressure situations and their patients’ lives depend on the split second medical decisions that are made. In order to be a prosperous doctor, a person must have the quality of courage along with bravery. On the contrary, a nurse practitioner does not display the same acts of courage. Nurses are not the ones to be making heavy decisions about a patient’s life and health, therefore their job is not courageous.
