Paper 2 Love is Blind because you can never tell the person faults or if they have flaws. You can never really know what you are getting yourself into when you fall in love with someone. The phrase “Love is Blind” means that when a person, he or she won’t see the faults or imperfections of the person he or she loves. That means that if you love someone then you will be able to look past the faults they have. A man or a woman that is in love can see no faults or imperfections in the person that they love. If you love someone, it doesn’t matter what they look like or what their faults are. There is a person in my life that will stay anonymous that is a perfect example of this. She has the hots for the wrong guy. She has felt like it was great at first because the whole thing made her feel happy. There were

For, example my sister met this nice guy and a week later they were engaged and now they are happy and in love. Love can be a crazy thing if you think about it because you never know when you will fall in love. When thinking about the phrase love is blind it is true because you could never know when you could find the love of your life. Or if the person you thought you loved could turn out to be someone that wasn’t right for you. You just could never know what could happen when you fall in love with someone. Love is a strong affection for one another. Attraction to another is based on a desire that each of you have for each other. You should always feel compassion when you are with the one you love even though you might have different flaws. You should still love each other flaws. In conclusion, the idea that ‘love is blind’ captures so many different things about love that way it helps us to move beyond the individuals differences, love is a way to express the character about a person and the love you have for each
Many times the love that a person is looking for is the one that a person doesn't realize.
The speaker never had the chance to experience her as a human and therefore, she’ll always be the perfect love that is unmarred by human flaw.
Love, love, love; the only thing everybody talks about. Every movie, every series, every story talks about how two people fall in love and live happily ever after. All stories get to the conclusion that the love the couple shared was unique and that the two lovers matched perfectly together. But what happens when two lovers do not belong to the same social class? What happens when they don’t share common things they like? Are they not meant to be? “In love everything is possible”, someone once said. When someone is in love, he/she would make everything that he/she cans to make his/her lover happy and keep him/her by their side forever. F. Scott Fitzgerald, one of the most important American writers of the twentieth century, depicts a love story in his novel The Great Gatsby and shows how love can change a person. Gatsby, the man from which the story takes its name, fell in love with Daisy when he was young officer just before going to war. As the story goes on, he falls more and more in love with her, but he loses her to a richer man. Gatsby’s love for Daisy
(Lewis 95). Lewis reiterates that her love and reasoning is distorted, because she seeks to torment her husband, not seeing beyond the flawed and perverse wishes she presents. Thus, the distinction is made that love goes beyond simple human
Although she describes such a relationship as being unequal and wrong, she does make points on how a man and woman come to fall in love. Simone mentions that “Through love, woman’s face, the curves of her body, her childhood memories, her former tears, her gowns, her accustomed ways, her universe, everything she is, all that belongs to her, escape contingency and become essential” (de Beauvoir 647). She then continues speaking about men stating, “This transforming power of love explains why it is that men of prestige who know how to flatter feminine vanity will arouse passionate attachments even if they are quite lacking in physical charm” (de Beauvoir 647). In both cases, the qualities- physical and nonphysical- of the man and woman are expressed in a loving relationship. The man uses his charm to impress the woman and the woman gives her all in order to catch the man’s attention. Although they are completely different, qualities of man and woman must be displayed for one to decide whether they love the person or
“Imagine a woman who could never see herself as she was seen in the eyes of her loved one.”
Well I use to believe that love couldn't be made at first sight. But yet now today I do think it happens. I will now share what I think love means.
The Knights is the second surviving play from Aristophanes, written in 424 BC. The Knights serves as Aristophanes’ comedic revenge on the Athenian demagogue, Cleon, who brought Aristophanes up on charges of treason and not truly being an Athenian citizen. The Knights focuses on a fictional representation of Cleon, Paphlagon, which ironically bares resemblance to the Asian territory of Paphlagonia, subtly throwing the charges of being a foreigner back in Cleon’s face. The play tells of how Cleon (in this play depicted as a slave to the oligarch, Demos) rose to power through corruption and was eventually overthrown by a common sausage seller named Agoracritus. Central to this plotline are the presence of and prophecies given by oracles.
Love is like putting the person under a magical spell and they will not be able to differentiate between what is right and what is wrong. The quote reflects exactly what happens in A Midsummer Night’s Dream where Helena agrees with Gandhi’s thought about love. The play mentions "Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind; and therefore is wing'd Cupid painted blind”. A Midsummer night’s dream is a play written by the legendary author; William Shakespeare.
Blind love can be a hurtful experience, or one that is misleading. One example of blind love is being in love with someone who will provoke you into doing things you would not normally do. While most people have certain standards which they live by, being in love with someone to the point that they influence you to go against what you believe in is a result of blind love.
Just like a mystical vision, you never look for it but rather let it be like any other unpredictable situation. So is it only when you love someone that you see them as they truly are? Or when you don’t, you only see a limited portion of that person? There is a problem you see, that is ultimately depending on you for clarity. But if love is like lightning and strikes with no warning, it seems as if it will always be something incomprehensible. You do not see the love for a mother or a brother inconceivable in any way. You understand that you cannot choose but rather influence your own family, and decide to love them with or without any particular cause or condition. You see, we must not really be able to make sense of how much we know of someone by the condition of love towards that person. We never say that we are rising into love because there is something in the idea of the fall. The force of gravity is a downward constant force of 9.8m/s. We are careful to look at the floor beneath us to minimize the chance of
Love is actually the choice one makes to put someone's wishes, desires and needs above our own. Many people confuse the word "love" with the meaning of the word "want" or "desire." For example, sometimes when a young man tells the woman of his dreams, "I love you", when he means that he "wants" her because of his own selfish desires. He's the one that may feel all excited over her, but in reality he may want her because of her physical appearance, or because of her mentality or her ability to make him feel good or important. Notice his primary motive for pursuing her is based on himself and his desires; not on pleasing her, although he may choose to please her, but that's only based upon the fulfillment of his wants. The same goes for a young woman, when she says to the man of her dreams, "I love you," she in fact means that she "wants" him because of his physical appearance, status, mentality or his ability to make her feel good or important.
The idea that love is blind always sounded very cliché to me up until today. The proverb really has great meaning and fact behind it in my opinion and can be applied in different ways in a person’s love life. You can love a person so much to a point where he/she is perfect in almost every way, no matter what he/she does. It can be that your significant other leaves his/her socks around all the way up to infidelity. He/she may like something that you hate but you put up with it anyway. According to the social psychology book and what I’ve learned Counterfactual thinking seems to somehow play into the proverb Love is Blind. Counterfactual thinking is changing some aspects of the past as a way of imagining what may have been. For a person madly in love he/she may think we will be perfect together and may also think what could have been. I have done that myself involving a significant other. He was perfect to me, but we no longer talk and I always wonder what we could have been. For him and I, love is blind is the perfect proverb that explained us. When a person is madly in love he/she will change his/her thought process and see his/her significant other as the person they want them to be. Accessibility also plays a part. Say you have a partner who isn’t always the nicest to you but they are sometimes. If they most recent thing they have done for you is nice you may ignore or not notice when they are unkind.
This description is not of lustrous beauty, but of the true love he felt for her. This statement and
What is love? Love is a very special and meaningful word to each human being. Each human being has his/her own thoughts about love to guide himself/herself to land safely and smoothly into the kingdom of Love. Without this preconceived idea of love, people would be acting like a blind person searching for the light with thousand of obstacles in front of him.
