If someone asked me how I would define “truth” it would not be a dictionary definition. Giving this world a dictionary definition would not do it any of the justice it deserves. “Truth” is a very complex word and has different meaning to everyone. The Oxford dictionary defines “truth” as “that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality. I bet the reaction most people give is the eye roll, because the synonym of the word is used in the definition. The way we are brought up or the nurture aspect of our lives shape the way our perception is today. “Truth” is what we are taught to be the “truth”. Usually ‘truth” is deemed to be real and most of the time a positive gesture. Sometimes the “truth” is not always something that is positive but it is always preferred over a lie. “Truth” is subjective, while lies are what deviate from our social norm of “truth”. …show more content…

We use “truth” to describe the reality that we experience. The “truth” is a way of describing how we perceived a certain situation. Most of the way we look at “truth” depends on barely any of our own experiences. Everything we perceive as “truth” is whatever we have been told was true. Ever since we were little we have been taught what “truth” was and what was supposed to be “truthful”. Going all the way back to the basics of when this had all started we were just little kids. When we were taught what pigs were, and what color they were, our little lessons of “truth” started. We were taught that pigs are pink or brown animals, then they would show a picture or give a detailed description on what a pig is supposed to be. They told us that it was fact that pigs can only be those colors and pigs can only look a certain way, that was the ‘truth” we were taught.
