A hero can be someone who overcomes a tragedy, dedicates themselves to improving the community, or even makes sure all the elderly people their area are fed. Nurses who comfort the sick and dying can be considered heroes, heroes normally have an impact on your life, for example a 19 month year old child was playing on railroad tracks with a train approaching her, the conductors saw the child but were at such high speeds they could not slow down in time, so one of the conductors, father of four, walked out onto the catwalk and saved the baby just in time. Another example of heroic behavior is, two boys, unable to swim were being swept out to sea, with the mother yelling for help, a pregnant woman jumped into save them, she grabbed them and held them up, one on each arm, unable to keep her own head up, another heroic fellow jumped in and pulled them to safety.
