Recommended: Meaning of love
Almost everyone has experienced love whether they knew it or not. I feel like it is something all of us want. There are different types of love: Friendship love, relationship love, and family love. A lot of people have a hard time expressing love in words. Everyone experiences it differently, the main thing is that we know what is love, and what is not. Society has screwed the meaning of love up. They have twisted, and perverted the meaning. There are now girls who think being hit is a form of love. If someone really loves you, they will respect you. The world and Christians have two totally different meanings of love. So I want to show both sides of love.
What does the world say about love? People say things like, "It's all about what your heart wants." Some girls think that love is giving in, and saying yes to whatever the guy wants. So if the guy wants sex, even if you don't, you say yes anyways. A lot of guys now think that even when the girl says no, they really mean yes. They some how think girls don’t know what they want, which

What do they say, and what are their actions when it comes to love? Christians and others believe it's more than words. You have to do things to show love. Which would mean more to you; me saying I love you, or me showing that I love you by spending my time doing something for you or with you? Love isn't always about words, as much as giving up time for that person. Someone said it really well, "I think in true love, you lay down your life everyday for it. Sometimes it's a small sacrifice… and sometimes it is without measure." But even Christians who say they are all about love, turn around and can be very judgmental. Judging people, no matter how they act, look, talk like, or believe in, they are still people. I'm pretty sure we're not going to win anyone to the Lord by judging. I know we all mess up though. The great thing is that we can go to the Lord, the One who loves us the most, and he will forgive
Love is said to be one of the most desired things in life. People long for it, search for it, and crave it. It can come in the form of partners, friends, or just simply family. To some, love is something of a necessity in life, where some would rather turn a cold shoulder to it. Love can be the mixture of passion, need, lust, loyalty, and blood. Love can be extraordinary and breathtaking. Love being held so high can also be dangerous. Love can drive people to numerous mad things with it dangerously so full of craze and passion.
Love is arguably the most powerful emotion possessed by mankind; it is the impalpable bond that allows individuals to connect and understand one another. Pure love is directly related to divinity. Without love, happiness and prosperity become unreachable goals. An individual that possesses all the desired superficial objects in the world stands alone without the presence of love. For centuries love has been marveled by all that dare encounter it. Countless books and poems have been transcribed to explain the phenomenon of love, but love surpasses all intellectual explanations and discussions. Love is not a definition, but rather a thought, an idea. This idea, the idea of love, burns inside us all. Instinctually, every soul on Earth is
Some people get the word love mixed up with lust. People do this because they tend to forget that when in love, sex is never a necessity but an accessory to the feeling. Lust and love have so many differences it is considered ridiculous. Some people say that they love someone just to get the physical action that is so commonly wanted but never really needed. Lust is something that is completely physical, while love is the complete opposite. Love is a feeling so euphoric that everything, but at the same time nothing m...
Love pervades human history and our cultures, yet defining it can be difficult as the word love is used in a myriad of ways. It is used as a universal moniker for kindness and compassion. It is used to describe our feelings toward something; I love Game of Thrones or I love bacon. It is also can mean, as Merriam-Webster defines it, a strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties. This definition of love is a unique experience of raising above our selfish human nature and putting another’s needs and feelings before our own.
What is love? I remember a time when “I love you” was the hardest phrase to say to the person you really had feelings for because you knew when you said those words it would change the course of your relationship forever. But what is the true meaning of love? “The dictionary defines love as a feeling of strong personal attach-ment induced by sympathetic understanding or by ties of kindred; ardent affection for one’s children; man’s adoration for God; strong liking; fondness; good will, al love of learning; love of country.” (Bell, pg. 10) According to Bell all of these definitions convey the outward appearance of love. He says that when looking at love that we need to take an inventory of our feeling to find out if we are truly displaying the type of love that God calls agape love. Bell says we need to ask ourselves the following questions: Do I return love? In any relationship love is a two way street. A marriage or relationship will not last very long if only one person is showing love and the other is not responding in kind. As a matter of fact, a spiritual relationship works in pretty much the same way. The bible says that God first loved us, but if we do not return that love to Him the relationship may diminish. As a Christian we must first love the unsaved person just enough to go to them and share the good news of the gospel. Then after that person has received the gospel of Jesus it is then up to them to accept it and return the love by giving their life to Christ. “Ministry is the first stage of this exchange of love.” (Bell, Pg 11)
John 13:34, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, That ye also love one another”. A Christian is supposed show in actions the lessons that were taught to us by our savior. His attributes include patience, charity, humility, diligence, and more importantly, love. However, despite this, I have come across many times where people I talk to are hesitant to bring up certain subjects because of the fact that I am a Christian. It is because I am a Christian that they believe that I would be offended or judgmental about everything that is against my beliefs.
Many people have different perspectives when it comes to the topic of love. The word love has been tossed around by everybody and not very many people really understand the true meaning of love. There are some exceptions, but I think this is especially true for teenagers and young adults. I might be one of those people who do not fully understand the topic of love, but I hope to better understand the topic of love and its true meaning is this course.
Love, that single feeling which generates the funny sensations in people's stomach, giving them the warm pleasures in their body, causing them to feel joy, and to believe every aspect in their life is right. It causes them to receive an exhilarating, appealing feeling that makes them want to rejoice. Love can be a speeding of their heart, but it can also be nerve-racking. It makes their hearts begin to rapidly pump, making a rapid beat— “ba-boom, ba-boom, ba-boom”. Attempting to describe love is a rigorous task, but it is possible. However, the easiest detail to describe and understand about love is not so much the feeling of it, but the concept of what it is about. Many people may obtain different views and definitions regarding love, but
At first, Love is often described as a powerful force, something that can create great emotion in the lover, Love can be the greatest feeling in the universe, but it can also be totally devastating when it doesn’t work out. We might be inclined to think that there’s a significant aspect of irrationality to love. But we should be cautious here, as love can have reasons too. For example, you could list off a bunch of reasons for your love: your partner is friendly, intelligent, funny, and has many positive sides. But if you loved someone who was mean, unintelligent, and boring, that would be irrational. Many of us have great reasons for loving who we beloved, which shows that sometimes love is in fact just rational.
“Love is universally accepted by many people and the concept of love within the English language refers to a variety of different approaches, states and attitudes, ranging from pleasure to interpersonal attraction.” (Kendrick 123) My characterization of love encourages the intimate emotion I partake for my family. The distinct connection that we fashioned and the invaluable moments that we consolidated. In the perceptive of a mother, my children are my supremacy and the greatest blessing of my lifecycle. They’re my inspiration and motivation to continue progressing and becoming the best at what I do. With that in mind, Love relics your outlooks and approaches the linkage they become associated with. Consequently, this condition can fluctuate over a period of a specific time. Additionally, depending on your situation, your perspective on love can be an altering affect, creating a stable or inconsistent assessment. Furthermore, causing your love to intensify, decline, or even cease. Love in its essence, stands justly powerful and the beauty of it advances,
It is one thing that we all, as humans, have in common and have felt it at one time or another. It seems to be the main underlying goal that we strive for in our lifetime. So, what it really is? I just describe it as the feeling of love. Many people consider love in numerous different ways as they grow older. To me, my view of love eventually becomes deeper and more mature comparing to the time I was young until now. In my life, I have felt into different types of love, which are the unconditional family love, the miler of friendship, and the wonderful love from God.
People in this world have not a clue what it means to love or to be loved. Most people use one another and never truly attaches themselves to experience the feeling of love, but rather fill the void with things other than love. As mentioned in the documentary Minimalism, it is said, “that we as humans are too materialistic in the everyday sense of the world, but not at all materialistic enough in the actual word.” Thus, meaning that the focus of today’s society is not about who we love or whom we wish to share our lives with, but rather what we can purchase or who we can use to our own advantage. Loving people and using things will lead to a better more sensible way of life.
Some say Love is a person’s psychological strength which makes the person stronger through the harmonization of the personality, through obtaining a constant source of positive emotions. Meaning loving something makes you stronger and a better person because your are willing to put yourself on the line for something or someone else’s benefit. But that 's not necessarily true. Sometimes people can’t let go because of love and end up making others suffer greatly. Or they can’t share the love and end up killing it . The passion behind love is sometimes taken too far, often times being a bad thing. Remember that love is experienced in many different ways. I believe that love is a cool thing to give and receive you just need to be careful of it. If you do it right you can use love as a resource of happiness. That love can come from a
My thinking about love is that most people today do not know the meaning of love, I believe that if God was able to physically sit down and speak to us he would be
What is love? Love is a very special and meaningful word to each human being. Each human being has his/her own thoughts about love to guide himself/herself to land safely and smoothly into the kingdom of Love. Without this preconceived idea of love, people would be acting like a blind person searching for the light with thousand of obstacles in front of him.
