Friendship is defined as a mutual relationship between two people. Out of all the friendships I’ve had, I was able to divide them down into 5 categories. There are different types of friendships such as new friendships, old friendships, troubled friendships, trustful friendships, and casual friendships. All of these friendships are different. New friendships are relationships that come along whenever you meet someone new. You sometimes have common interests or goals. Within new friendships, it’s an opportunity to start over and grow. Although new friendships can be a positive thing, they also have some down sides. New friendships can sometimes come with secrets and lies. You most likely wouldn’t tell a new acquaintance something that you …show more content…
It could mean you have been friends with someone for a very long time and they have kept all your secrets. OR it could mean that you were friends before and something happened to destroy the friendship, so it resulted in not being friends anymore. Old friendships are filled with memories and laughter. Troubled friendships are relations where two or more people have problems or conflict. This could be caused by anything as little as canceling on someone or stealing their boyfriend. Troubled friendships can be formed from people that have been friends in the past and have a history of conflict. Some work themselves out and it’s just a “phase” through the friendship. Some friendships aren’t that lucky. Trustful friendships are friendships that are reliable. They are usually between two people who have known each other for a significant amount of time. You’ll always have someone there for you to count on. Being trustful is a complete belief in the reliability, truthfulness, or strength of someone. You can rely on someone to tell all your secrets and worries on. You can also trust them to be 100% honest and truthful with you. Being in a trustful friendship means that you have someone to get advice from and someone to give advice
Webster defines friendship as the emotions or conduct of friends; the state of being friends. Growing up you realize that every relationship is tested throughout time and some make it through that time and others do not.
First of all, every human being needs to trust. Trust takes a lot to build, but at the same time it does take seconds to break. When being betrayed by someone they build trust with causes distrusts. “The Compass of Friendshp” is a book by William K. Rawlins, who discusses how a person betrays his friends friendship. “Most of us would agree that the loyalty and confidence of friendship is a scared of trust. Close friendship
A friendship is a bond shared with another person, typically of common interests. A friend is honest, loyal, faithful, and trustworthy. It's someone you can share secrets, memories, fears, and dreams with. They stand by you despite arguments or disputes that might arise. Friendships can bring joy, as well as pain; friends want the best for each other, and sometimes sacrifices must be made. In Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck speaks of the advantages and pitfalls to a friendship.
We trust our friends not to betray us, and to share our happiness with us. One never
Friendship can make people vulnerable in the way they trust, accept and love each other. Trust in any friendship can be hard to accomplish. Trust is a key role
My personal definition of "friendship" is a feeling or emotion expressed in such a way that another feels wanted and important, a relationship between a person or persons where everyone has some companion to talk to when their in need of one. I would define friends as people whom you can have several types of relations with and feel several emotions for that person. Someone that one might go to in time of need. However, friendships differ between people. For example, the friendship that someone may have between them and their parents would be different than the friendship they might have with someone their age. There are many different friendships that people have. Friendships can exist between best friends, friends, lovers, children, parents, siblings, and many more. All of these differ in some way.
According to the American Merriam Webster Dictionary trust means “belief that someone or something is reliable, good, honest and effective”. I believe the term trust isn’t that easy to understand because as we live our lives, grow and as we experience different things the term starts to have a deeper meaning to us. The term trust means believing in someone, being there for them when they need you. When you trust someone, you can be honest with them. There is many different kinds of trust such as there is trust in family, there is trust in friends and there is trust in someone special meaning a lover.
Having trustworthy friends is rare, nowadays, because people lack kindness and compassion. If you teach children how to be kind early in their lives, they will show kindness to others and develop strong, healthy relationships. Relationships are like houses. Relationships built on foundations of kindness and respect hold strongest in rough situations. Relationships without these foundations do not last, however, and deflate when situations become tough.
One of the most important details in a friendship is to never leave or forsake the other. A friend is also loyal, for example in the movie Lord of the Rings, Froto and Sam Wise had a wonderful fellowship. They lived in peace and in one accord. Also in the movie, gandalf sent froto on a mission. Froto was scared and he didn’t want to go on the journey by himself.
Your best friends, unlike your social circle, will not only be complimentary, but will always give you honest feedback. Best friends are in contact with each other every day and both work toward their friendship goals to allow it to continue down a healthy path of friendship. When something serious happens in your life, your best friend will sympathize and empathize with you, and then help you figure out how to fix it and move on. Best friends will give you advice when you really need it and are honest about their opinions. Loyalty, honesty, and commitment are the top priorities of a growing best friendship. Friends in your social circle can not keep secrets from others, but you can confide in your best friends about anything and they know everything about your life: the good, the bad, and the
We make friends expecting them to bring some substance to the conversations we have with them about our problems, but in all honesty, a majority of the time they have no real advice to give besides, “You’ll make it, just stay positive.” And to that begins the downward spiral of a doomed friendship. Without anything to go off of it makes it very hard to continue to go back to friends for advice when in the past they have a history of kind of sucking at it. This is when we see our friends true colors and start to notice how much they really plan on contributing to this friendship we have. It’s easy to see what they like to talk about versus what they don’t. Thus making it remarkably easy to detect when they aren’t truly interested in your problems. Also to keep in mind, a majority of the world thinks that we are to blame ourselves because we should have seen it coming from the beginning. So when the spiral begins, all we can really do is just sit back and
Friendship is a relationship that all the individuals can create by themselves. Though it is not a god gifted relationship like that of the relationship of a mother, father, sister, brother or any of the other family but still it is one of the best relations an individual can possess. People who have true friends consider themselves as the luckiest individuals on earth.
Some friends can have negative influences on you, be friends with you for the wrong reasons or they might not be trustworthy with your secrets. Friends are extremely important to have but you want a friend that you can trust and share common interests with. Kalven and I became great friends we both trusted each other and we shared a lot of common interests, soon our friendship turned into a relationship. Becoming a couple was very odd for me so I ended it. This put our friendship on the edge for a while, it was really awkward around him. We both got over that fact and moved on with life and became just as good as friends as we once
You may be one of the people who have never had any problems with friends, so you trust people more. Maybe you’re someone who’s scared of being alone so you need friends there to help you cope with your fear. To have a good friendship, you have to have trust. If you don’t trust your friend, well, they’re not really your friend. I think you should be able to tell your friend anything that comes to your head.
A friend is someone difficult to find. A friend is someone you can always count on when times are tough. The dictionary's definition of a good friend is a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. A good friend is there when you are struggling. For example, when a boy breaks your heart a good friend walks you through it and offers a shoulder to cry on. According to Bree Neff, a good friend is someone who is trustworthy, doesn't talk behind your back, listens to your problems, gives good advice and tries to lend humor along with his or her support. There are also bad friends, those who pretend to care and then turn around gossiping and starting drama. Good and bad friends are all around you, involved in your everyday life. To find good friends you should look for such traits as being kind, trustworthy, loyal and dependable.
