Defining One Country, Two System
Hong Kong is a very special city. It has a very interesting history. In 1842, Hong Kong Island of Hong Kong was ceded by China to Great Britain. In 1860, Kowloon Peninsula of Hong Kong was ceded to England. In 1898, the rest of Hong Kong, the New Territories and 235 outlying islands were leased to England for 99 years. In the early 1980’s, the British and Chinese government began to have negotiations about Hong Kong’s future since the lease would expire on July 1st, 1997. The leader of China, Deng XiaoPing, introduced the “One Country, Two System”. The “One Country, Two System” was intended by China to give Hong Kong’s citizen a promise that communism wouldn’t prevail over capitalism in Hong Kong. This way, China would gain trusts from Hong Kong’s citizens that the conditions would be the same when the Great Britain returned the sovereignty of Hong Kong back to China. British and Chinese representatives signed the British-Sino Joint Declaration in 1984, authorizing the transition of Hong Kong’s sovereignty in the midnight of July 1st, 1997. Hong Kong citizens were excited that Hong Kong would finally return to its motherland. China wanted to show the world that the “One Country, Two System” would be unique and successful so that China could attract Macau and Taiwan to return to China.
In the early 1990’s, the Basic Law was published in order to make the practice of “One Country, Two System” a legal procedure. In the Basic Law, it stated that Hong Kong would become an inalienable part of the People’s Republic of China (1). China would authorize Hong Kong to practice a high degree of autonomy, and enjoy executive, legislative, and independent judicial power (2). The executive authorities and legislative of Hong Kong shall be composed of permanent residents of Hong Kong (3). Hong Kong residents would have their rights and freedoms (4). The socialist system and policies wouldn’t be practiced in Hong Kong, and the previous capitalist system and way of life would remain unchanged for 50 years (5). Hong Kong would protect the right of private ownership of property in accordance with law (6). The laws previously enforced in Hong Kong, the common law, rules of equity, ordinances, subordinate legislation and customary laws, would be maintained (8).
In the movie Mulan, based on the “Ballad of Mulan,” Disney inaccurately portrays her life causing many incongruities. In the movie, Mulan is portrayed as being weak and unskilled with weapons and horsemanship. The “real” Mulan, however, was said to have practiced with many weapons and warfare methods. As an article in The Epoch Times stated,” Mulan’s father…raised Mulan like a boy. She....practiced martial arts, archery, and fencing with her father….liked to read her father’s manuals on military strategy.” This would show that contrary to the Disney version, which depicts a young Mulan as being hopeless and weak, she was actually a fierce warrior who could carry herself into battle. In addition, the real Mulan also rode horses and shot arrows, differing from the incompetent Mulan that is depicted in the “We Are Men” scene of the movie. While Disney portrays Mulan as being unskilled and inadequate upon her entrance to camp, the actual Mulan was extremely adept to the art of war and extremely capable of holding her ground.
This scene also leaves the viewers relieved, and happy because Mulan gets to stay the army and she has finally shown everyone else that she is just as good has them and even better.
Hip implants have been utilized even longer than metal-on-plastic implants. Metal-on-Metal bearings (cobalt chromium alloy, titanium alloy or from time to time stainless steel) were in use from as distant back as 1955 nevertheless they were not agreed for use in the U.S. by the FDA till 1999. They proposal the possible for considerably decreased wear, alongside less inflammation and less bone loss. A little mechanism recalls have held negative attention to Metal-on-Metal. Metal-on-metal constituents permit the biggest heads across the whole scope of implant sizes. Colossal ball heads furnish increased scope of gesture and larger stability, that can considerably cut the chance of hip dislocation, a critical factor in the long word accomplishment of an implant.
Hong Kong Reading - "The Book of the Year" Through imperialism, British rule encouraged industrialization and modernization which led to visible growth in the economy as the city is described as a trade center and important in manufacturing and banking, which suggests that the industries and businesses prospered. Additionally, the fear of Chinese rule suggests that businesses operated better under British rule, which shows how imperialism improved the lives of the people of Hong Kong compared to the government before imperial rule. The way that citizens of Hong Kong left the colony before it was returned to China further highlights the different effects of British rule and Chinese rule on the people, suggesting that British rule was preferred by the citizens of Hong Kong which is why they left rather than live under Chinese rule. This implies that the colonized people considered Great Britain’s imperialist rule to be better than the government before which was Chinese. This demonstrates that imperialism improved the lives of the colonized people because it helped the economy grow and prosper.
She is very independent and rebels against the role that her society has dictated for her. Mulan pushes through challenges, works hard, and protects her family as the hero in Mulan.
“Philips, Sony, and Toyota factories are popping up all over—to the self congratulatory applause of the nation’s governors and mayors, who have lured them with promises of tax abatements and new sewers, among other amenities.” (Paragraph 17) People are born into their jobs, and are doomed for their economic boats. IN other countries such as China, it has been proven that the families with the moneys are the ones with the money, are the ones with the economic power. “Many wealthy Chinese and western residents moved their money abroad and some actually left the colony. By 1971, the Cultural Revolution in China had ended in failure and conditions in Hong Kong calmed,” (Lannom) such as Gloria Lannom states, yet it took a while for Hong Kong to rebuild its economic standings because of this

Mulan dresses the part of a male soldier, but through inception into the army learns how she is expected to act the part. The Disney film about Fa Mulan and the live action film about Hua Mulan by Jingle Ma ultimately chronicle the journey of Mulan and her service in the military but the films will have significant differences because of the different perspectives telling the stories. The changes of the female roles in China in the 21st century have their starting point with the story of Mulan because of her positive role in female identity later on. How Mulan changed the stigma about women over time may not have helped. Although Mulan is a legend, legends tend to shape some fields of thought in society. Changes in female structures in China took many centuries but I believe Mulan’s presence had an irreplaceable impact on the women in Chinese society.
They led an electronic and manual search to recognize studies reporting on the subject of accuracy of dental implant impressions. Pooled data were thoroughly analyzed. The classic Disney movie, Mulan, is often praised as a film involving feminist empowerment, but upon closer look just the opposite appears to be true. The classic storyline includes Mulan, a young Chinese woman, taking over her fragile father’s place in the Chinese army, disguised as a man named Ping. She trains among the other soldiers, becoming one of the very best with her accompanying guardian dragon, Mushu and a cricket her grandmother gave her for luck for the matchmakers by her side. She ends up saving all of China by revealing that the Huns are back and invading the country, and is honored as a hero. This movie breaks away from the typical damsel in distress princess story by having a single woman save all of China. However, on Mulan’s journey she faced extreme female shaming, and experienced stereotypes attempting to belittle her; all

The ideal political system can, and is, very challenging to create. We believe that the ideal system should accurately reflect the views of the people and create a system of powers that works throughout each branch of government. The branches of government include the executive, the legislative, and the courts. We also go into how these positions are elected, as well as the parties in which they are elected from. They all work together to create a sound government that will work in the best possible way.
