#1) There are hundreds of examples that could be used to explain natural selection to the theory of evolution. I have decided to use the example of the Deer Mouse. This mouse can be found across the United States but is mainly located in the mid-west. Specifically, in areas in Nebraska, certain fields have been known to produce very light-colored crops. The mice that are found in these fields have very light-colored coats. In nearly all other places in the mid-west, the Deer Mouse has dark fur. Through the years, the mice were not surviving in that location because they were easily spotted due to the light field and dark colored fur. Eventually, through evolution, the Deer Mouse in the location known to Nebraska, has light-colored fur because of the natural selection process.

The first type of evidence that I believe supports evolution is the homologous structures. This could also be known as the genes of species. This can be proved through different fossils being compared to modern species. Through the process of looking at the genes, finding sequences of genes show that evolution can happen. From finding the sequence of genes, this shows that the species will have common ancestry but may be different species or have different characteristics. This idea can prove evolution. The second idea that I believe proves evolution is demographics …show more content…

As said in class, not a single person goes through evolution in their lifetime. People and animals will develop through their life spans. If you are one individual, you should not have the need to have evolution, it should be based on a whole group of population that would need to go through evolution. An example of this, the state of Florida starts to experience extreme coldness through a period starting at 200 years. An evolution of this may be, animals and human growing more body hair to stay warmer, or the body storing more body fat (naturally keeps one
