It is a long-with-standing stereotype that Italians love to gamble. This is true. My great grandfather, Pasquale Giovannone, played the riskiest hand of cards when he immigrated to the United States as an illegal stowaway at the age of thirteen. He forged a life for himself amidst the ever-changing social and political shifts of the early nineteenth century. The legacy he left would later lead to the birth of my father, John Giovannone, in Northern New Jersey in 1962.
The first Carmine’s opened on the Upper West Side on 91st street, in the year of 1990. The owner and founder Artie Cutler wanted to bring family style dining and home style Italian food to Manhattan. The Upper West Side location was a quick hit and Artie quickly wanted to expand. Two years later the second Carmine’s opened up in the Theater District on 44th street, back in the 1990s Times Square was not really known as mecca for restaurants but that quickly changed. Artie Cutler died of a heart attack in 1997, but his wife Alice Cutler kept his vision and dream alive. The first Carmine’s to open up outside of New York is located in Atlantic City at the Tropicana hotel; it opened up in December of 2004. Alice Cutler did not stop there she opened up another Carmine’s in the Bahamas a year later, Washington D.C in 2010, and the latest addition in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace.

The two famous names go hand in hand as Peter is an architect who helped bring many of Disney’s dreams to life. He had a knack for animation and visualizing what others could not. The skill set and passion he obtained had always revolved around projects for a younger market. He thought outside the box when it came to his projects, and was consistently determined to overcome the obstacles that were put in front of him. These qualities and traits made him an ideal match for assisting Disney in the making of their famous theme parks Disney World and Magic Kingdom.

It would be very hard to not have heard about Disney because he has released so many different kinds of animations, but during the 1950’s Disney began to become less involved in the animation department, entrusting most of its operations to his main animators, the Nine Old Men, although he was always at story meetings. Instead, he started concentrating on other things. On a business trip to Chicago in the late 1940s, Disney drew sketches of his ideas for an amusement park where he envisioned his employees spending time with their children. These ideas developed into a concept for a larger enterprise which was to become Disneyland. Disney spent five years of his life developing Disneyland and created a new company, called WED Enterprises, to carry out the planning and production of the park. In March 1952 Walt Disney got permission to build Disneyland. Construction work started in July 1954, and opened in July 1955; the opening ceremony was broadcast on ABC, which reached 70 million viewers. The park was designed as a series of themed lands, linked by the central Main Street, U.S.A a replica of the main street in his hometown of

Generally, when someone is said to be the “best” at something, it is an arbitrary title given to someone by another person based purely of of their own narrow viewpoint. This it true when talking about the best actor, however, there may be a way to determine the best actor on a variety of criteria. Though some may think otherwise, Danny DeVito is a phenomenal actor, who may be considered one of the best in the industry, from his range as an actor, to the sheer number of awards he has won or been nominated for, or even his projects outside of film, he seems to have it all compared to all other actors.
