The first step to get a job is deciding on the kind of job you want. You need to look at the type of job, the location, the hours and the pay. The second step is to ask yourself “What do you have to offer an employer?” “What kind of skills do you have?” Then you develop a resume and talk to your family members and ask them if they have any contacts at your ideal job’s company. Next you have to read the newspaper or go on the internet. After you see a job you are interested in, apply for the jobs. Make sure you are familiar with job applications and have all the information you need. The last step is interviewing for the jobs. Develop answers to interview questions, think of a few questions you could ask, and dress conservatively.

The development of nursing theories has provided a perspective in which one can define the purpose of nursing, when nursing is required, and establish the parameters and goals of therapeutic nursing activities (Ahmed,2001). A nursing theory is defined "as concepts, definitions, relationships, and assumptions derived from nursing models or from other disciplines and project a purposive, systematic view of phenomena by designing specific inter-relationships among concepts for the purposes of describing, explaining and predicting the phenomena of nursing” (Boxer & Jones, 2010). In addition, nursing theories provide frameworks through which nurses can examine various situations. As nurses encounter new situations, these frameworks provide a structure for organization, analysis, decision making and communication (Ahmed, 2001). The following paper will discuss the middle range nursing theory of Family Stress and Adaptation by Geri LoBiondo-Wood, and how it relates to patient care and guides nursing practice.
Paradigm is a sum of a person’s belief as well as the understandings of any facts and experience that he/she comes across. In nursing science, the paradigm addresses the most abstract set of central concepts include: the person, environment, health, and nurse perception towards a patient. For the nurse, paradigm creates a nursing frame work that “provides comprehensive perspective for nursing practice” (Alligood, 2014, p.45). Nursing theories are developed from this frame work and these theories are the guiding structures of nursing practice, postulate the focus for the delivery of nursing care, critical thinking, and decision making. These theories may develop from “a philosophy, a nursing model, a more abstract nursing theory, or a framework from another discipline” (Alligood, 2014, p.43).

Nursing is a multidisciplinary career that encompasses many different aspects into one to be able to provide the best care possible for all patients. Nurses are caregivers, counselors, advisors, teachers, and more, but to be able to do the job of a nurse one must put into perspective the person or patient, the environment, health, and the nurse. These four concepts together create the Nursing Metaparadigm. These concepts directly influence how a nurse will perform care to a patient and the type of nursing practice that will be demonstrated by that nurse. Each concept above may vary from one theorist to another, but they are the most common concepts in all of the nursing theories. While some concepts are more important each concept will influence

Nursing theory can be defined as a conceptualization of some aspect of reality that pertains to nursing. The conceptualization is articulated for the purpose of describing, explaining, predicting, or prescribing nursing care (Smith & Parker, 2015). During the completion of my BSN, I gained knowledge on the very basics of nursing theory. Now during my completion of my MSN, it has been an eye opening experience to view nursing theory and its application to the nursing profession.
Nursing theories and models are important because they assist nurses, and others within the practice, to decipher processes and practices of nursing. These models and frameworks form the foundation for describing when and why nursing takes place, critique nursing practices thereby promoting effective change, and foster proper understanding of the general direction of the nursing practice. Masters (2014) stated that nursing theories and frameworks are essential since they detail what nurses do and what they should do thus adding meaning and purpose to their work. Therefore, nursing theories and models provide a solid platform through which the nursing practice, the structure of nursing provision and action, and the interrelationships between the nurses and those they serve can be effectively
