At first I did not think I would really like this movie. Before this Native American history did not interest me very much, but now that has changed. I ended up really liking this movie and learning a lot from it. I feel like there wasn't one spot in particular that was my favorite as I feel like I thoroughly enjoyed it. Some parts though that I did really like was the bond John Dunbar (Dancing with Wolves/Sunkmanitu Tanka Ob Waci) had with two socks. Although it didn't seem like much, that's how he initially became more accepted with the Sioux, as that was the name they gave him. I especially loved how it showed Dancing with Wolves relationship with the Sioux and their journey. At first communication was very tough and there was tension. The Sioux thought he was a threat at first, but later on that was squashed. John Dunbar eventually learned the language and became one of them and was accepted into the community. One thing I learned was that they take a bite out of the buffalos hear when they kill it. This to me was a little shocking and gross, I do not think that would taste good. In a way this was another step to becoming closer to them for Dancing with Wolves. By taking that bite it was proving that he wanted to be one of them. …show more content…

With little to no communication, nobody knew what was about to come next, but John was lonely. He was all by himself and he enjoyed the little company he could get. Also he definitely knew that there was no chance for him to go against the Sioux. It was hundreds of them against one, he would definitely lose Another reason that I think, is that he had respect for them. He wasn't going out into the frontier to kill the Native Americans. He went to go see it and explore it. In the beginning of the movie he had also tried to kill himself. I don't think he really wanted to be in the army anymore . Because he was lonely and knew this he tried to befriend
